Guest Reviews
- Amanda (10/5): - Beautiful cottage with fantastic facilities. Peaceful and comfortable. Thank you đ
- Steve (10/5): Ten out of ten. - What a find, fantastic cottage in a wonderful location. Bigger than it looked in the pictures, we were a couple plus two dogs, it would comfortably sleep two couples or a family. Ownerâs comms were excellent and the cottage was spotless. One of the best cottages and locations we have stayed in, highly recommend. Fantastic walking, cycling and fun (difficult) golf course in the village. We couldnât stay a few more nights.
- Lorraine (10/5): Excellent facilities in a lovely location - It was so clean and homely Dog friendly and so cosy
- Elspeth (10/5): - Cottage lovely in quiet village Nothing
- Steven (10/5): Had a fantastic time and so glad we booked this property - The house is lovely and absolutely spotless. There was a large garden in the back for our dog to play in and loads of walking routes around right from the front door. Host thoughtfully left toys for the dog too. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are all well spaced and laid out. I genuinely haven't stayed in nicer 2 bedroom property. Nothing, the property was perfect for our needs. If you're looking for peace and quiet, long walks, and a local pub and shop this is ideal for you.
- Nicola (10/5): Brilliant - Loved the location. Amazing cottage.
- Liana (10/5): We loved our stay in Minton Cottage. - Comfy cottage - well-appointed with lots of homely touches.
Lovely garden for the pup and toys left out for her too. Nothing
- Sheila (10/5): Beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings - Great cottage in a peaceful village. It's spotlessly clean and everything you need. It's great to have a fridge freezer. Lovely enclosed garden. We would have sat outside if the weather was better. Elizabeth put out a dog bed (which our Cally loved), bowls, and towel. Very comfortable chairs, settee and bed.
There's a village store. Lots of walks nearby, and well worth driving down Mennock pass. Nothing
- Kty (10/5): superbe séjour, vue de la salle à manger exceptionnelle! - Tout le cadre, le village, la maison. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à observer la faune et la flore. rien
- Rosemary (10/5): Magical place - Cottage is immaculate, everything you need is there, very comfortable. There's nothing to dislike, booked up for next year.
- Keith (10/5): - Lovely cottage nice and peaceful
- Smyffies (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional - The property was beautifully kept , well equipped and spotlessly clean
- Jo (10/5): Peaceful with stunning views - The fantastic location, close to loads of places, Peebles or Edinburgh but far away enough for peace and quiet. I liked the private parking and the big garden where we enjoyed watching the swifts and the stunning views of the hills. Although you have neighbours, it was very peaceful. It was one of the cleanest cottages I've ever stayed in, and Elizabeth provided vegan milk and snacks, which was very much appreciated. I'd love to come back and explore the area a little more. The heating thermostat was locked behind a box, so you're not in control, but Elizabeth did explain why.
- Helen (10/5): Very enjoyable - Very clean and extremely well equipped. No complaints at all.
- Paula (10/5): Just perfect - What an absolute pleasure it was to stay at minton Cottage. The photos don't do this place justice, it's immaculate, and everything you need is there including free parking outside the property. What an amazing place. Our chihuahua Lexi loved the freedom she had in the enclosed garden and also the toy box full of toys, she even jumped in it to get to them đ The village is lovely and the locals are really friendly, will definitely be back. Can't fault the place.
- Mark (10/5): Extremely clean and comfortable stay. - Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Lovely and warm and spacious. Parking outside the front door. Liked everything, highly recommend.

- John (10/5): Lovely cottage in a great location - Large, comfortable and very well equipped. The garden looked great but the weather wasn't suitable during our stay to make use of the BBQ and outdoor furniture.. Leadhills is a lovely community. We enjoyed walks in the hills and visits to the local dog friendly pub. Nothing not to like - highly recommended.
It is warm and snug - we found it a little warm - even with the heating turned off and bedroom windows open.
The photos in Booking.cims don't do the cottage justice.
- Michael (9/5): Very pleased with the cottage hoe to stay there again - Everything heating didnt come on till 0730
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful village. Extremely good value for money The rain

- Peter (9/5): An authentic, dog-friendly cottage in Leadhills with beautiful surroundings - Our recent stay at an authentic cottage in the center of Leadhills was simply delightful. The cottage itself exuded charm and character, perfectly capturing the essence of this historic village.
One of the highlights was how dog-friendly the cottage was. Our furry friend felt right at home, both inside and in the lovely garden. It was a joy to watch our dog explore and enjoy the space as much as we did.
The beautiful surroundings of Leadhills added to the appeal of our stay. Nestled in a picturesque setting, the cottage offered stunning views and serene landscapes, making our time there both relaxing and rejuvenating.
Overall, this cottage provided an ideal blend of authenticity, comfort, and natural beauty. Itâs a perfect getaway for anyone looking to experience the charm of Leadhills with their dog in tow. Highly recommended!

- Lynsey (10/5): Peaceful, beautiful spotless cottage loved it. - Beautiful little cottage with the most beautiful views. So peaceful and serene. We travelled from Liverpool so was a long drive but what a lovely treat when we seen where we were staying. So spotlessly clean and so comfortable. We didn't use the BBQ as the weather was bad all weekend, but a nice touch. We couldn't find instructions to turn off the smoke alarms triggered by putting out the candle in the lounge, ended up opening all the doors

- Sandra (8/5): Lovely cottage with everything you need. - Lovely location, remote but close enough to major roads. Lovely cottage with everything we needed. Single beds a little narrow - my mum turned in the night and fell out.
Great to offer things for dogs, but my dog was scared by the dog bed - it must have previously been occupied by a more dominant dog.
- Jacob (10/5): Absolutely perfect! - Lovely and cosy with everything we needed. Excellent rear garden. Beautiful location with lots to do in the surrounding area. We had car troubles in our previous location which delayed us arriving by two days. Elizabeth was brilliant and allowed us to rearrange our dates last minute so we didnât miss any time in Leadhills. Thank you so much! N/a.

- James (8/5): Excellent! - clean, bright, well maintained, modern finish.
The owners went out of their way to make me feel welcome and ensure everything was right.
Local wildlife was friendly - cat on the windowsill, rabbit keeping the grass short, chickens grazing behind the fence.
Peaceful village. If I was being picky I would say the twin room was more suitable for children as the beds were 3/4 size.
Fabulous property for a family and dog friendly.
