• Pär (10/5): A personal stay in a perfect place! - Villa Magnolia is a wonderful place, super quiet and relaxed. The garden was super green, well cared for and had lots of different plants in there. On two out of three mornings the host walked with us and talked about different things. They also have canary birds and turtles in the garden! It is very close to the sea, and because the villa is in a gated community you get keys to access the community rock beach. It's a very short walk, and we went there to swim and to watch Etna in the distance and the sunset. The room is on the second floor of a very fashionable house, and it felt very luxuorious to us. It was exeptionally clean, and we started each day by opening the windows and looking out over the sea and the flourishing gardens around the house. It is a short drive to both Augusta and Brucoli, which have difference atmospheres. Brucoli is closest and is a small fishing village where we had some good sea food. We also took the car to Syracusa, which was not too far either, for all the things to watch there (such as the market!) Perhaps best: the host! He was very friendly and made sure that we were having a good time, while still being relaxed and personal about things. It mostly felt like being welcomed to this house as a friend, which was very positive. It was all good for me. My wife could perhaps had a softer bed, but it was not a big problem so we did not try to solve it.

• Sorial (9/5): Lovely home near the sea. - Lovely room upstairs in the home of the host. We booked at last minute as other accommodation cancelled the morning of the booking. Room was spacious and had air conditioning. Bathroom was outside the bedroom but was private and spacious. Large terrace overlooking the garden and the sea. You can see Mt Etna in the distance The host allowed us to use their washing machine in the evening and they provided a fold up clothes line to dry the clothes. Breakfast was good. There are two entrances to the home which is in a gated community. The entrance near the town and beach requires a drive up a very rough sandy road so avoid this if possible. This is the entrance given by google maps. There is another entrance with directions from the host that is much better on a sealed road so follow these directions. It is a 5 minute walk down the road to the gate to the beach area. Note that this is a rocky beach which is lovely for a paddle in the rock pools but not really easy for swimming. It is a lovely place to watch the sunset and also the sunrise but use insect repellent! It is a 45 minute drive to Syracuse and Ortigia.

• Yuan (10/5): I hope I can visit them again! - Maurizio and Angela are super friendly. The room is spacious and decorated with very Italian style taste. The room is located in an independent block with beautiful garden and private entrance, which is very safe. It is close to the sea and is quite quiet. Maurizio is very helpful and he also speaks good English.
• Martin (6/5): Nice view from the window and great if you want to stay in a private house. - Watching the sunset near the volcano is not to be missed. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The sofa in the bedroom was a good addition and the bathroom was clean. Private access to the beach was provided. To be fair I should have researched the location a bit better. It's basically a room in a house in a gated area rather than a b&b. The owners were very welcoming but it was a bit awkward. It would have been good to have a small fridge in the room for drinks or a bit of food.
