• Daisy (3/5): - Location is good. We arrived around 23:00, when we went up to our room the beds weren’t made and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. We went back to the reception and other guests were also having trouble with their rooms as the hotel overbooked. When we mentioned our unclean room and showed them a picture the staff said they were gonna clean it. She came back after 5 minutes but when we went up again it was clear she didn’t change the sheets but just made the bed. There were hairs and stains all over the bedding, so obviously this was the same bedding the previous guests slept in. Very unsanitary.

The room I’ve booked however wasn’t cleaned properly after the last guest; there were melted ice cream left in the fridge that was not removed, hair and previous guest’s body wash left in the bathroom and the smoke detector was covered with a plastic which is a major safety issue. I informed the receptionist on the first day I checked in and was promised these will be fixed; but until I checked out, none of this were taken care of and no cleaning whatsoever of the room.

• Tatiana (1/5): - Der Aufenthalt war ziemlich schlimm… Ich habe die Reservierung last minute gemacht, aber war am Ende total enttäuscht. Das Personal war offenbar nicht in der Lage, die Zimmer entsprechend der Buchung korrekt zuzuweisen. Nach ungefähr 30 Minuten Wartezeit an der Rezeption bekam ich schließlich ein Zimmer. Ich möchte außerdem erwähnen, dass die Bettwäsche nicht sauber war, auf dem Nachttisch Weinflecken zu sehen waren und das Duschgel dasselbe wie das Shampoo war. Gegen 2 Uhr morgens ist jemand in mein Zimmer gekommen – das Zimmer, in dem ich war, wurde offenbar auch einem anderen Gast gegeben… Ich habe zusätzlich 10 € bezahlt, um einen Late Check-out bis 12:00 Uhr statt 10:00 Uhr zu machen. Trotzdem hat gegen 09:40 Uhr jemand – vermutlich von der Rezeption – versucht, ins Zimmer zu kommen. Nachdem die Person gesehen hat, dass ich noch da bin, wollte sie sogar Erklärungen von mir, wie genau mir dieses Zimmer vom Rezeptionspersonal gegeben wurde, obwohl ich ausdrücklich erwähnt hatte, dass ich für einen späten Check-out bezahlt habe. Wenn ich extra bezahle, um später auszuchecken, bedeutet das, dass ich nicht gestört werden möchte. Außerdem ist es nicht mein Problem, wenn das Personal unorganisiert oder verantwortungslos ist. Ich möchte einfach meine Ruhe haben, besonders wenn ich dafür extra bezahle. Eine sehr schlechte Erfahrung – ich werde definitiv nicht wiederkommen.

• André (4/5): Es gab keinen Aufenthalt, da das Hotel es anscheinend nicht für nötig hielt, mich über die Schließung des Hotels rechtze - Das Hotel war bei meiner Ankunft aufgrund eines Rohrbruchs geschlossen. Was ich hierbei nicht nachvollziehen kann, warum die Gäste, die reserviert haben nicht vorab per Telefon, oder email darüber informiert werden. Ich reise extra an, um dann da vor Ort zu erfahren, dass das Hotel geschlossen ist. Da hätte ich doch gerne vorab drüber informiert werden wollen. Die wissen doch, welcher Gast für wann gebucht hat. Eine Nachricht des Hotels darüber bekam ich erst später, nachdem ich bereits umsonst dorthin angereist bin. Das war natürlich ärgerlich für mich.

• lipp (1/5): Schlecht - Nichts Absolut katastrophale Erfahrung im Diamonds Hotel – ich kann wirklich nur dringend davon abraten, hier zu buchen. Wir hatten unser Zimmer ganz normal über Booking.com gebucht und bereits vollständig bezahlt. Am Tag des Check-ins haben wir sogar noch eine Nachricht über Booking vom Hotel erhalten, dass sie sich auf unseren Aufenthalt freuen. Umso schockierender war die Situation vor Ort: Als wir nachts (gegen 3 Uhr!) ankamen, hing einfach ein Zettel an der Tür, dass wegen Umbauten kein Check-in möglich sei und alle Buchungen storniert wurden. Keine vorherige Information, keine E-Mail, nichts. Nach Klopfen wurden wir kurz reingelassen, aber uns wurde lediglich gesagt, dass kein Zimmer verfügbar ist. Am Telefon hat uns der Chef dann zusätzlich noch unfreundlich und respektlos behandelt, uns blöd angemacht und null Verständnis für unsere Situation gezeigt – obwohl wir mitten in der Nacht ohne Unterkunft dastanden. Wir standen dadurch praktisch auf der Straße und mussten panisch ein anderes Hotel suchen – zu einem deutlich höheren Preis. Mit viel Glück haben wir überhaupt noch etwas gefunden. So ein Verhalten ist absolut inakzeptabel. Eine bezahlte Buchung einfach verfallen zu lassen, ohne sich zu kümmern oder Alternativen anzubieten, ist respektlos, unprofessionell und einfach nicht tragbar. Nie wieder.

Because everything in the area was already fully booked, we had no choice but to find a room in another hotel at a much higher price. Unfortunately, the hotel staff made no effort to help us find a solution or offer any assistance. Cancelling a confirmed reservation at the moment of arrival without proper notice is extremely unprofessional. This experience caused us significant stress and additional costs. Very disappointing.

• Peter (1/5): Unverschämt - Ohne Vorankündigung hing ein Schild am Eingang, das verkündete, dass das Hotel geschlossen sei und man sich um eine neue Unterkunft kümmern müsse. Der Vorgang der kurzfristigen Stornierung ist unsinnig. Eine Stunde vor meiner Ankunft habe ich noch Nachrichten von der Unterkunft über meinen Aufenthalt erhalten.

• Kisha (1/5): Schlimmstes Wochenende in meinem Leben - Bei mir war sehr viel Baustellenlärm, dann hab ich das Zimmer gewechselt. Dann wurde ich abends angerufen, dass ich das Hotel wechseln muss. Dann hab ich das Hotel gewechselt. Dort war es sehr dreckig dann habe ich wieder ein anderes Apartment bekommen. Kein warmes Wasser Schamhaare auf der Toilette Herz komplett dreckig Zimmer halb auseinandergefallen mein Geld wiederhaben haben

Thankfully the second day I was transferred to another room which was way better (warmer, cleaner, bigger and much more comfortable). The location for me was very conveniet since I was there for work. On the first night, I stayed in a small room which didn't have heating. The heating and the aircondition machine didn't work both and the temperature of the room was approx. 14 degrees. The staff brought me a small electric heating device to warm the room and an extra duvet.
• Jacky (8/5): Fijn hotel op een leuke en levendige locatie - Fijn hotel op een leuke en levendige locatie, met vriendelijke medewerkers. Kamer was prima, deze was recent gerenoveerd en ruim en comfortabel. Goed bed en mooie badkamer met fijne douche. Er is geen mogelijkheid voor ontbijt, maar nabij opties zat voor. Waren in Keulen voor de kerstmarkten dus het ontbreken van een airconditioning was ook geen probleem. De locatie is aan de rand van het centrum, temidden van winkels, restaurants en horeca. Zelfs wat discotheken om de hoek, maar hier geen overlast van gehad. Via een leuke wandeling langs winkels loop je vrij snel naar het centrum. De andere kant op waren er ook nog een paar kerstmarkten. Al met al een prettig verblijf voor een nette prijs. Geen eigen parkeergelegenheid, maar er zijn twee openbare parkeergarages vlakbij die ook niet zo duur zijn.

The staff told me that they usually don’t clean rooms during the stay because most people prefer privacy, which i can get on board with. The images of the room showed a large bed and the room given was a single. Loud clubbing street with crowds on the street and cars doing laps up and down the street. It’s cheap but still too expensive for the experience.
• Nora (7/5): Insgesamt ein solides Hotel mit Verbesserungspotenzial - Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut und auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Die Zimmer waren an sich gut ausgestattet und machten einen ordentlichen Eindruck. Allerdings hätten sie etwas sauberer sein können, da es stellenweise staubig war. Negativ aufgefallen ist der starke Shisha-Geruch im Hotel. Außerdem waren die Zimmer trotz eingeschalteter Heizung recht kalt, was den Aufenthalt etwas ungemütlich gemacht hat.
