Guest Reviews
- thomas (7/5): Nice place to stay when visiting Kairouan - De gastvrouw was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam en altijd bereikbaar.
- Ivan (10/5): A peaceful guest house among olive trees - Henchir ejdoud is a guest house with a garden located near city of Kairouan in a olive tree plantation. If you are looking for a peaceful place where you can eat local food prepared by the hosts themselves - this is the place! The guest house is very easy to find by navigating with Google maps. I had a wonderful dinner and chat with the hosts. Rooms are exceptionally clean, decorated with some local objects. If you are traveling by car or motorcycle, the guest house provides a secured parking so you don't have to worry about your vehicle.

- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place in the nature, we had an amazing time.
The breakfast is amazing!
- Khaled (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing place. The house is really confortable with incredible breakfast. It’s located very close to the city on the middle of an olive field. Just superb
- Sandra (10/5): You could not be made more welcome - The owners are very welcoming and the dinner was great lots and lots of space and very quiet. This is not a criticism but it would be easier to find if there was good signage. Plus we were on a bike and the mud on the road made it a bit tricky in parts.
- Dimitrios (10/5): Lovely quiet place! Excellent staff, tasty dinner and breakfast! - Super friendly staff! Clean and spacious rooms!
- Sander (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, green and peaceful location close to Kairouan. The loudest sounds are the birds that are everywhere. The food was also delicious so we really enjoyed our stay.
- Xiaohong (10/5): Clean and spacious apartment. Beautiful garden with trees. Friendly owner. -
- Agnė (8/5): Beautiful and peaceful but chilly stay - The property is extremely beautiful with a spacious romantic courtyard and peaceful surroundings. The hostess Yousfi was very kind and helpful, the place was immaculately clean and had almost anything one would need. As we were staying there in January, it was extremely cold in the premises. Although there was a couple of heaters (the one that uses gas had to be turned off at night), they did not help at all. We spent the night fully dressed under all the covers available and taking a shower in a non-heated bathroom that’s the same temperature as outside was a quite a chilly experience.
- Panayota (8/5): A beautiful place to relax and recharge - We spent a night Henchir ejdoud on our way to Tozeur. The place is located 15 min drive away of Kairouan and is surrounded by pomegranate trees. We appreciated the calmness of its wonderful garden and we enjoyed a very nice dinner prepared by Senda, our host. Senda has such a nice energy and was very helpful and kind. Our room had a lot of space and was very quite. In the morning Senda prepared for us a very good breakfast which we could enjoyed at the garden. We left the place well rested and fed.
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional - I had a brief but very pleasant stay at this wonderful place. After a long 20-hour trip, I was extremely tired and couldn’t communicate as well as I’d like, but the owner’s constant smile, helpful nature, and quick responses made everything easier. The place is very well organized, with excellent decoration and good quality furniture that creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the beautiful rural view, which was incredibly refreshing. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay To be honest, I wasn’t very fond of the location, as it’s not easy for cars to reach and it’s quite far from shops and restaurants. You’ll need to request a taxi if you want to shop or eat outside, unless you choose to dine from the menu offered. Also, it’s not really a hotel, but more like a guesthouse. Another point to note is that there’s no AC, and it was quite hot during my stay. I understand that in Tunisia, air conditioning may not be very common, as I noticed even most cars don’t have it. I did speak with the owner about this, and she assured me that installing AC is a priority in her plans in nearest future. Overall, that’s all I have to mention, and I would love to visit again, just not in the summer!"
- Oskar (10/5): Friendly and cosy place to stay for a Kairouan visit - Super friendly staff, good food (dinner / breakfast) nice room and secure parking. Not the hotel fault, but if you use Google maps for navigation, you can end up in a very narrow street with cactuses and bushes on the side.
The house is located approx 15-20 min from Kairouan city.
- Libor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): The best place we stayed during our time in Tunisia - Amazing location, amazing family, very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and the place was beautiful and clean and quiet. A little out of the way which was perfect for us but might not be for everyone.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - The host was lovely. Always willing to help.
It's a relaxing oasis within the hectic surroundings.
Breakfast was provided with local and traditional food. Very delicious. They accommodated our dietary restrictions.
We loved staying there. Wish we could have been longer Nothing bad to highlight.
- Alexandros (10/5): Exceptional - During our whole trip in Tunisia, we had our best stay here by far! Really beautiful apartment, clean and spacious bathroom, lovely garden, delicious breakfast and lovely owners! Highly recommended! If I return to Kairouan, I will definitely stay here again!
- Felipe (10/5): Good, except food it’s ridiculously expensive - I am being generous with the score, because the homestay is new and family-owned. The place was super clean and the family of the hosts were nice.
Breakfast is good. The food they offer is Ridiculously expensive. More expensive than most fine dining restaurants in the country.
We experienced a very awkward situation when we arrived to the homestay. As soon as we entered the property we were offered a traditional dinner. However, when we were told the price we ask to cancel it, it since it was literally 10 to 15 times more expensive than local restaurants. The hosts were quite upset about it, and did not want us to cancel it. The homestay dinner for two was 150 TND, and we ended up dining at an awesome nearby grill for 15. The difference in pricing is just too much.
It was the only time in our trip when we felt scammed.
Also, the shower is terrible. It’s either boiling hot or freezing. It’s impossible to regulate the temperature. We had to use a small jar to have a bath, since it was impossible to use the shower.
I hope you can fix these problems in the future, because the house is super nice.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy room & courtyard design. Very good breakfast. Amazing hosts. Recommend 100%. Nothing. My stay was excelent. ☺️
- Laura (10/5): Very nice place for those who don't like standard hotels. - Very calm and beautiful location, the family greeted us very kindly and made us delicious dinner. The room was clean and very authentic. Budget friendly. The location is further from the city but for us personally it wasn't a problem.
- Manuel (10/5): Excellent place to stay! - Spotlessly clean, very friendly staff with straightforward communication, nice enviroment, suculent breakfast, safe neighbourhood. Nothing.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful spacious property, maintained by a lovely friendly family. Location is gorgeous too, surrounded by olive and orange groves. The included breakfast was delicious, and very considerate of them to provide it for us given that we visited during Ramadan. It's in the countryside so you'll either need a rental car (they provided parking for our car) or rely on taxis. Nothing to speak of :)
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were really friendly and accommodating.
The rooms and the whole house are beautiful (and very clean) and it's very peaceful there. The food is great as well.
100% percent recommended for people who are visiting Kairouan and have a car. At the time we were staying there, there was no wifi.
- Svenja (9/5): Beautiful getaway! - The surrounding of the guest house is really beautiful and quiet. The room itself is very spacious and of high quality. However, we were most intrigued by the hostesses and the amazing breakfast that was prepared only for us! It was a little hard to find the house at first, but after reaching out, the hostesses helped us a lot to facilitate the trip. Also, we had some temporary issues with the shower.
- Moustafa (10/5): Exceptional - The place was clean and tidy. I enjoyed staying with a Tunisian Family the were so accommodating and generous. I loved my staying there ans would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Kairouan it worth it
- Panfu (10/5): Serene homestay - Incredibly friendly owner that provides good service and can whip up a delicious meal at reasonable price. Beautiful surroundings to wake up to. Had sound sleep throughout our 2 nights stay there. Highly recommended if you wish to experience staying at a local Tunisian home. Tricky to find the road going to the property by Google Maps since it needs to go thru somebody's land.
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional and will return with my family with great pleasure. - Everything especially the hosts (Sinda and her môme). They’re really exceptional, helpful and very kind. This place is exceptional for those looking for calm, relax and nature neighborhoods.
