• Maram (10/5): The best choice in Chania! - We loved our stay at Akrotiri Hotel! The owners and staff are the most generous and kind-hearted people ever. We were celebrating our anniversary as a couple and one of us, unfortunately, fell very ill. The level of care, support, and attention we were shown was beyond words. This all comes on top of a great view overlooking the city, a very nice breakfast with delicious homemade cakes, everyday thorough cleaning, extremely friendly service, accessible location to the old town, and all-round amazing experience. We cannot be more thankful and delighted to have chosen this place and we would definitely love to come back! Nothing!

• Sebastien (10/5): Un accueil incroyable et une expérience humaine rare, dans un cadre magnifique. - Un séjour exceptionnel. Les propriétaires sont d’une gentillesse rare, toujours disponibles et vraiment aux petits soins. On sent un côté très familial, ils font bien plus que ce qu’on attend d’un hôtel. C’est de loin l’accueil le plus chaleureux que j’ai eu. L’emplacement est également très pratique, proche des arrêts de bus, et la vue est tout simplement magnifique. Rien à signaler, tout était parfait.

• Suzanne (4/5): Stay at the old harbour area instead if you want location and charm - Lena, the owner and manager was the most beautiful person and couldn’t have been more helpful Location was a fair walk or 12 euro taxi into town and was on a noisy road. We should have booked a hotel in the old part of town so we could have easily walked for dinner etc and it would have been a lot quieter

• Serena (10/5): Il posto in cui dormire a Chania - L'ambiente raccolto, tranquillo e familiare. Lena è una host fantastica, sempre presente senza mai essere invadente. La stanza fornita di ogni comodità, (ciabatte, spazzolino e vino incluso). Stamattina appena siamo andati via ci ha anche offerto 2 doni. Un plus anche la posizione sopra la città, con una vista meravigliosa dal balcone della stanza e la possibilità di parcheggiare sempre a bordo strada gratis. Consiglio a chiunque! Non posso dire niente che non mi sia piaciuto

They went above and beyond for us, for airport lifts, lifts to the bus station, dinner recommendations, allowing breakfast earlier one day to fit around a tour we had booked. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Nothing!

If you have a car it’s a 5 minutes drive to city centre ,old town and the marina. Very helpful and friendly host and staff,clean property , tidy reception, buffet,very nice breakfast on the terrace with the sea view . Thanks to Lena ( the host ) we tried some nice homemade cakes and the tea and coffee table was accessible all day long.

• Lori (9/5): Anything lacking in accommodation is made up for in service, so we would choose to stay here again if visiting Chania. - The best part of this property is the owner, Lena, and her husband. It feels like you are staying in a bed and breakfast. Lena made dinner reservations for us, gave us directions, ordered pizza for us when we wanted to stay in after a day of sightseeing. Very friendly and kind. The view was beautiful and we loved having breakfast on the balcony. The breakfast had a nice variety of options. The building is older and doesn’t have outlets by a mirror. The pillows weren’t great.
• Therese (9/5): Wonderful - would recommend. - The couple who run this place are exceptionally kind and gracious! There was a bottle of wine waiting in our fridge when we checked in. The room was clean and had a lovely balcony looking out to the sea. We had a rented car and were able to park in front of the hotel without any problem. The breakfast included fresh produce from their garden, homemade baked goods and jams, greek yougurt with fruit, hard boiled eggs, cheeses and such. It is a bit of a hike to get to OLD Town Chaini (15 minutes by car, then need to find parking). Another couple we spoke with walked into town and said it tood them about 50 minutes. The lighting in the hallways were a bit dark.
• Nicola (10/5): Great hotel and amazing host! - Lena is lovely and the most amazing hotel host ever! I didn't get up for breakfast but my partner did, said it was excellent and Lena offered to put together some food and drink for me! She's very attentive and really cares about her guests. She even gave us gifts of olive oil and tea to take away! There were welcome gifts of wine and bottled water too. We're not wine drinkers, but Lena offered another free bottle of wine for our 2nd night if we wanted it! When we checked in, she gave us a choice of different rooms too. Parking was easy- right on the street in front of the accommodation and there was always a spot available. Handy supermarket just next door and a great burger place just 7 mins walk away. The room (26) was clean and comfortable with a good bathroom. The view from the balcony was incredible- great sunsets. For the price we paid, it really was exceptional! Thanks, Lena! We'd love to stay again. -
• Melissa (10/5): Quiet, beautiful - Lena and Elias treated us like family, and I truly mean that. They are amazing. I can't recommend this stay more highly. We had an amazing time and will absolutely stay with them again. We have never felt more welcomed. Location was great, we were close to old town Chania, very close walking distance to a gym (which was nice, Olympiko, 30 euros for one week), Lidl, and an "American" style bar called Legends. The view is unparalleled and breakfast with our hosts and the other guests was priceless. Nothing, it was perfect.

I prefer tea and coffee in my room, but it was always available downstairs. The road outside is a little noisy during the day.
• Karolina (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful hosts, extremely accommodating and helpful. Great location on the outskirts of Chania. Rooms very comfortable and clean and spaciaous. I think all are with balconies either facing the seaside view or the garden. On the garden side it might be quieter because the street is somewhat busy in the evening but in the evening it gets quiet. A very nice terrace with a sea view at the reception level. You can enjoy a sunset while drinking tea or coffee. We stayed there 1 night to be close to the airport before departure. We would definately stay there again. I really cannot fault anything. The hotel is not suitable for handicapped I'm afraid, as a remark but many places in Crete are not.

From the minute that you walk in this hotel you feel warmth and know that there are so much love that was putted to this place. The view from the room like from the picture. • Lorne (9/5): A Gem of a Hotel in Chania -  This is a wonderful family owned hotel where you get personalized attention from the hosts.  The hosts picked us up at the airport at 23:30,  They booked a Samaria gorge trip. They provided recommendations for restaurants. They were so nice and so welcoming. The hotel itself is located on a hillside just outside of town. it has an extensive garden and the grocery store next-door. Our room was large and comfortable with a big balcony and a fantastic view of the old port.  There was drinking water and wine in the room, as well as other nice touches. nothing

• Whereintheworldarewe (10/5): Room with a view of Chania Harbour - Lena was a great host. The room was comfy with extra things you wouldn't expect to find. Large hot shower which is nice to find in Greece. It is a great location close to the airport with a major supermarket down the road. It is a quiet location. We travel with our coffee plunger and love to find a kettle and cups in the room but there was coffee making facilites downstairs if we wanted to walk down. Probably not suitable for anyone who cant negotiate several sets of stairs.
