Guest Reviews
- Philip (9/5): A superb family weekend in a house that exceeded our expectations in many ways. - A really great house in an excellent location. Hardwick Lodge provided the perfect venue for a family gathering to celebrate a ‘milestone’ birthday. We used all the rooms at various times during the weekend and the hot tub was a big hit. Sean (the host) was very responsive and all our questions were answered very speedily. It would be very helpful if the list of facilities provided on the website included reference to the excellent ice making machine, as this totally negated the need to buy bags of ice. Fridge capacity was a little short for a property of this size.
- Emily (10/5): - Everything, the place was stunning and very well set up
- Michael (10/5): A fabulous property for larger get-togethers in a delightful rural location. - Overall a fabulous space for a large group of people in a delightful rural location. A warm and welcoming property with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and spaces to socialise inside and outside. The photos and descriptions in the listing are an accurate representation of the property but, if anything, it is even better in reality.
Sean was an exceptionally responsive and friendly host. The welcome pack of beer wine and biscuits was most appreciated!
Good walks from the front door and in the local area but the house has so many different areas (conservatory, lounges snugs, games room, gym etc) that even in poor weather there's always space to enjoy. Not quite enough fridge space. The kitchen fridge is small for the number of people. There is an extra fridge in the boot-room, but by the time you've got food and drink for 12 people everything is a bit cramped.
It would be useful if the en-suites with only a bath had a shower attachment fitted.
- Lauren (9/5): Very comfortable and perfect for our group! - Beautiful house
Really well equipped kitchen
Very spacious
Very generous with supply of milk, tea, coffee, wine and keg! The single beds are very narrow so if you are tall/larger build then you’d be best in a double room. In one room the headboard is against a light switch so if you move a lot it turns the lights on. Was easily rectified by moving bed away from wall
- Susan (10/5): Stunning, spacious house in great surroundings. - The photos do not do this house justice, the property is stunning. Unbelievably spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Perfect for bringing families together. The ice machine was a big hit!! The host responded to questions, prior to and during our stay, promptly. We would definitely book again. It was all very good, maybe the second fridge in the boot room could be a little bigger! Which is really not that much of an issue is it!!
- Stephen (9/5): Great large house, lovely peaceful location, fabulous sunsets watched from the garden seating. - A great large house in a lovely peaceful location. Watching the fabulous sunsets from the outdoor seating area overlooking the large enclosed garden (excellent for dogs to have a run and many sniffs!). Was perfect for a large family gathering celebrating a significant birthday. The welcoming arrival basket, on tap beer and bottle of wine in the fridge was a delightful surprise. it was all very good.
- laura (9/5): An amazing stay with family in a lovely house! Would stay again - I loved how much prep the kitchen had- easy to use with so many people. We loved the conservatory as it was biggest to sit and enjoy each other company and the big dining table! We would recommend another toilet today stairs.. we know there it was one in the gym however someone was sleeping up there so another one would be beneficial and we didn’t like the location of the hot in as we felt someone else could of been used to show it off which such a big garden. Also some of the shower pressure wasn’t amazing when other people were using them
- Kyle (10/5): Perfect weekend - Perfect for a friendly gathering - the garden was amazing N/A
- Katie (10/5): a fabulous weekend in a stunning countryside property! - Hardwick Lodge is an absolutely stunning property in a perfect peaceful location for a wholesome girls trip! Key collection was easy with a key code provided in advance. Pictures really don't do the house justice! Lots of entertainment spaces for large groups to be able to be together! If I had to say one thing (and it is very minor as we just about managed) I would say more fridge space would be helpful if staying for longer than a 2 night stay.
