Guest Reviews
- Nigel (8/5): We had a lovely stay. -
- Paul (10/5): - Very nice location, bed very comfortable, lovely fire feature, thoroughly enjoyed our weekend The outside patio could do with a spruce up especially for the summer but that didn't spoil our stay
- tom (10/5): -
- Carolyne (8/5): Perfect for couples - Location was excellent. Its a very cosy well decorated home. Garden is far smaller than expected and not practical for dogs. The stairs are a narrow spiral staircase.
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Jane (8/5): - Cottage was very cosy, loved log fire, well equipped 😊 Only downside is position of cottage and having to park and walk along a busy road but can't change that!
- Mcmillan (8/5): - Nice clean, small, open fire Needs info on how to turn heating on and a cork screw
- Stephen (8/5): Very comfortable good value for money dog friendly cottage. - We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. The log burner created a warm and cozy environment. The facilities would be improved with a microwave There is a TV although the description on Booking.com said no TV. It is well suited to having dogs having hard floors downstairs. The spiral stairs prevented the pups from going up to the bedroom. The main road is busy so loading the dogs into the car is better done by quickly moving to the layby by the back door access for a few minutes. The parking is not far away but with livery dogs the layby is the best option. Two nearly pubs to walk to if you don’t want to cook or alternatively get a takeaway delivered. The road is busy which obviously can’t be changed but provision of earplugs if you sleep with the window open would help. You do become used to it after a day or two.

- Donald (7/5): We enjoyed the couple of nights tha we stayed, it worked as a good base for looking around the area. - It was quite cool when we arrived so the wood burner in the lounge made it really cosy. All of the cottage was very clean. The TV was good size and the WiFi worked very well with it. The road noise a bit more than I expected. A microwave oven would be a useful addition in the kitchen. The shelf in the bedroom could do with the corner being radiused, as it is at head height and could hurt if you hit it.
- Sharron (10/5): Lovely cosy well equipped cottage - Cottage was perfectly located in the village. It was right next to the white Hart pub, dog friendly,( the river was inbetween). There is a butchers and a cafe within a few minutes walk and also the wheelwright inn which serves lovely food and is dog friendly to eat in the bar area.
Cottage was very well equipped and cosy. In the kitchen, There were teabags, coffee and sugar, salt and pepper, cooking oil and some herbs and spices. A small bottle of wine and biscuits were left as a welcome pack which was a lovely touch. Handsoap, washing up liquid, scourer, cloth and teatowel provided. Also kitchen roll. Log burner, with logs and matches, made a really cosy evening. Tv available, no free view,, but had bbc player, itv x and Netflix, so plenty to watch.. comfy sofa with footstools and a blanket if needed. Bed was very comfy. Lovely touch of box of tissues and a couple of hot water bottles and hairdryer. Bathroom. Was snug but perfectly functional with powerful hot shower and a P shaped bath. Handsoap and loo roll provided. Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful cosy cottage. The back door would certainly benefit from a curtain for the winter months as is all glass.
Would be a bonus to have more than one saucepan and a non stick frying pan.
- Ana Coric (7/5): Nice cosy romatic stay - Nice cosy cottage, lovely for a romantic stay. Place was very clean and peaceful. Outdoor terace overlooking the canal.
- Anne (8/5): -
- Pamela (10/5): - The cottage was cleaned well and the bed was super comfortable. I didn't find anything to criticise
- Jacki (8/5): Great location for our extended family visit. - Location was excellent. WiFi connectivity was very good. Riverside terrace very pleasant Parasol for the terrace please. We had problems because I failed to notice your spiral stairs. I have a disability and found it extremely difficult. Property is ideal for a young couple!
- Simmons (8/5): We had a lovely stay in Bridge cottage, had every thing we needed, really nice being able to sit outside, right next to - Very cosy, had everything we needed, some where to park the car up and liked sitting outside by the river. Very close to a busy road
- Jennifer (7/5): Colyford itself is well placed for visiting coastal towns - Main road noise, walking with no path to car parking area on a fast moving ‘A’road.lovely cottage with spiral stairway but in the wrong location
- Nicola (7/5): A nice little cottage. A little expensive for what it is but good location. - Location was good. Cottage is quaint and perfect for a couple. Nice decor in bedroom with Comfortable bed. Lovely little lounge. Although the spiral stairs look nice, they were very steep and narrow, but appreciate there’s little that can be done. The property could have been cleaner particularly the kitchen. The pathway leading up to property needs attention and the bins (located outside) smelt with the warm weather.
- Janet (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good for walks and pubs nearby. The cottage was nicely furnished and comfortable.
Communication from host was very good. Cleanliness of kitchen crockery was not good due to having been hand washed.
Bath towels were small and thin
Paintwork was dirty on bathroom and bedroom doors.
Path to cottage was muddy and slippery after rainfall.
- Queijas (7/5): Good - Very clean and comfortable, great bed and matress to rest the legs after long walks. The property sits near a road where speed limits are not adhered to, can be noisy...
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. No television, but this didn’t spoil our stay
- Peter (7/5): Good - Nothing No tv
No microwave
- Charlotte (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable and cosy with wood for the fire too. Plenty of space for us and the dogs, and the kitchen was well equipped which was super helpful. The bathroom could possibly use an extractor fan - running a bath set the smoke alarm off!
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- John (7/5): Very pleasant but a couple of facilities missing - The cottage was finished to a good standard and it was close to a nice little pub Because of the inclement weather a tv would have been nice
It was also missing a microwave
- Pete (8/5): Enjoyable and relaxing short break. - Full of character and close to pubs and good dog walks. We liked the riverside location. David was always willing to offer good advice when asked. Access from the parking along the busy road with no footway was tricky.
