Guest Reviews
- Bruce (10/5): A beautiful place to spend a really special weekend. - We stayed here to celebrate my Mum’s 80th birthday and had a wonderful time. The house is stunning, lots of room and very comfortable.
It is 15 minutes into Bath by taxi (great for the Christmas market and San Remo Italian restaurant to be recommended), very close to Bath Spa university where my son studies and just round the corner from a very convenient shop and post office.
The garden is enclosed, would be beautiful in Summer (we were there in December) and great for the dog.
Best of all the owner very kindly baked a cake, meringues and ‘the best mince pies I’ve ever had’ said my Mum for our arrival.
Check in and out was easy with the house keeper living one minute away and available for any queries.
A gem of a house if you’re ever in Bath or the surrounding area. Nothing
- Angela (9/5): Made us appreciate how great it is to stay in a cottage. Everything was really good overall - There is every thing and I mean everything you could possibly want in a self-catering cottage. Very homely and an exception host who even made us a cake. Beautiful conservatory and garden. Limited shelf space and wardrobe space (lots of nick nacks and 'stuff' everywhere)
- Carolyn (10/5): Great welcome, quirky cottage, great facilities. - Marion met us and showed us around. Also cake and tea/coffee available.
Neighbour also met us later to see if needed anything
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Jon (9/5): Church Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. - A truly wonderful stay. Church Cottage had everything we needed. Clean towels, complimentary toiletries, wi-fi throughout to name a few. Our host Marion met us on arrival and presented us with a home made Victoria sponge which was delicious. We especially enjoyed eating in the conservatory and sitting in the secluded garden. Double garage at the rear have us enough room to secure both our cars. Would highly recommend. Great location for visiting Bath and Bristol. Was a perfect location for the family wedding we attended at nearby Priston Mill. Can highly recommend breakfast at Newton Farm Shop and Cafe. No issues
- Kathy (10/5): Exceptional - A real gem! Highly recommend.
- Alison (10/5): A very comfortable, cosy, well stocked cottage near to Bath’s elegant facilities - I loved the comfortable beds and that each bedroom had an en-suite bathroom. It was very warm and cosy and had absolutely everything you needed. It was handy to have a garage to park in. Marion was super friendly and even left an amazing homemade Victoria sponge and some mince pies. Communication was excellent too! You had to be a bit careful going up and down the stairs as some steps didn’t have a bannister rail (though the majority of them did).
- Michael (10/5): An - A short drive to Bath park
- Joanna (8/5): A pleasurable & comfortable stay for three nights in a characterful home and village and a - Charming historic cottage full of interesting and beautiful art and artefacts with a beautiful garden.
Marion was a warm and generous host.
It was home from home. Although we absolutely loved it it’s not ideal for babies and toddlers with many beautiful delicate artefacts to hand !
- Chrissy (9/5): Lovely cottage - Wonderful cottage - gorgeous collection of furniture and trinkets and ornaments. Our doggies had the best time in the garden – as did we, with so many beautiful flowers and lots of buzzing bees and butterflies. Very special to have a delicious victoria sponge cake waiting for us! Very comforatable and had everything we needed. Thanks so much The bedrooms were very hot - think the heating might have been on as radiators were warm.
