Guest Reviews
- Gelin (10/5): - The location and the family who lived there was amazing.
- Ginni (10/5): Welcoming house, very helpful owners, the mother is very kind and very sweet - Very comfortable bed, essential services available, delicious breakfast
- Martin (10/5): - A beautiful house in a jungle village. The son speaks very good english and his mother is an incredible cook. She always has a smile on her face which makes you feel really welcomed and at home. :) The room is big, clean and looks very well taken care of. The bed is huge and comfy. Dahl, sambal and roti for breakfast, what more could you want? :) price/performabce 10/10 Bathroom is kinda small but its good enough.
- Kasun (9/5): Good and clean place - A clean place with very good service. You can also get food there. The mother of the house gave us breakfast. She is a very kind woman. Nothing
- Juan (10/5): The heaven on earth - This was a really amazing place to be, very clean, very confortable and honestly all the familly are really beautiful persons, polite and humble hosts, they bring me to see around by car and motorbike, was gorgeous!! I highly recommend it.
They offer pick up and drop for a reasonable price, is wonderfull.
I dont know when but shure I will be back,
Thanks u soo much!!
I allways will keep LAXAPANA in my heart
- Ricardo (4/5): Disappointing - The bed is good. It's cheap The bathroom was not clean at all. cockroaches, spider webs the seat of the toilet was really dirty . Hot water worked for 1 minute. Sheets and pillow casings had spots 😐
- Annika (10/5): Perfect place to enjoy pure nature - I had a great time with Prasad and his family. The food here tastes great and is traditionally prepared. The room is well equipped, the bed is comfortable and I even had my own tea corner with a boiler.
The accommodation is not centrally located. So you have to think twice about whether you need anything else from the city before travelling to the accommodation. On the other hand, you are right in the countryside and there is no city noise.
He is a wonderful host and I can recommend him to all travellers in Sri Lanka. Thank you for letting me stay with you, Prasad :)
- Bravo802 (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb - We felt very welcome by Prasad and his family. The area is very beatiful :)
- Bunny (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was lovely...mom's cooking too good. Always smiling and even welcomed us with some tea and cake. Hot water available on the ground floor bathroom but that is fine...managed to shower in cold water.
- Sri (9/5): Worth The Stay - Great hosts! Very friendly. The washroom seemed to be small.
- Tuba (10/5): Exceptional - Cleanliness
Friendly owners
- Atikuradv (10/5): Exceptional - We spent very good time at this homestay. Our expectations were over bound. The house owner is a very nice and welcoming person. The rooms are fully decorated and equipped with extra facilities. We will visit again here for their hospitality. Highly recommended homestay for any tourists.
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you so much Prasad for who you are. Generosity,receptivity,kindness...As the bouddha
And your mother also... What a wonderful cook. Anybody interested to stay there, please come with you own vehicle as it is fare from everywhere. But worth it and really out of the track. Thanks again.
- Fernandopulle (10/5): The gem of Laxapana - The owner was quite helpful with providing us with the directions to the location as we got a little lost on the way. The owner's brother was expecting us at the door as promised. When we arrived we were greeted with tea, coffee and lovely Sri Lankan butter cake. The lady of the house was really friendly, kind and hospitable. She allowed us to make our dinner in her kitchen. We had a comfortable rest in our room after a very long day. The lady also gave me a kettle to use as I had coffee sachets. Drinking water was available from a water filter. The room and bathroom was very clean and we had blankets and quilts in case it got a bit chilly which it did later that night. The next day the lady (Amma) offered us chickpea's ,onion and egg sandwiches for breakfast. We asked for the sandwiches to be toasted and she went out of her way to do so. She also gave us black coffee with ginger which was the first time we tried it and it was lovely. Overall our stay was comfortable just what we needed after a very long bike ride. We definitely recommend this property as our stay was pleasant and the family was so lovely. We will surely visit again. Great value for money!!!
- Tim (10/5): Home sweet home - One of our favorite experiences in Sri Lanka - a remote and hidden gem, surrounded by lush mountains. The family is amazing! Especially Dewika, the heart and chef of this beautiful little Homestay, who made our stay so unique. Don’t miss out on her delicious (and cheaply priced) dinner and breakfast, which is cooked in her authentic and ancient outdoor kitchen.
We had the best time - thank you so much! We’ll be back. 🫶🏼 Everything was perfect!
- Riva (9/5): Natural place - Really nice homestay in the middle of nature, close to waterfalls nice for hikes, nice to be surrounded by nature and monkeys.
We went to the beautiful Aberdeen waterfall, amazing hidden gem.
You can go from the homestay to Adam’s peak by bus and just walk around and drive around in the middle of the tea fields.
Really nice family, nice beds and enough space in the room and aswell space outside. There is a space to do workouts or yoga/ meditation. There are small shops nearby where you can get some food, veggies, fruits.
We went from Hatton to the homestay by tuktuk but there aswell go busses from Hatton.
- Reining (10/5): Authentic and so natural 🙏🏼 - Prasad is such a kind, helpful and beautiful human being and this home stay is so authentically in the nature with a lot of beautiful places and waterfalls in very close distance .
