Guest Reviews
- Cyrus (5/5): Located in the heart of the Black Hills, fantastic views, and lots of critters to make friends with. - The location was fantastic. The space was large enough to accommodate all our guests. The Attic fan was a lifesaver. When we arrived there was a large pile of trash left from the previous tenants. Not a good look as you pull in. The grassy area up front was overgrown and needed a trimming. I reached out to booking.com about it and never received a response. We had nowhere to put our trash and we were staying 9 days. Someone finally came one day and took some of the trash. Not all of it. They left a new trash can but it was already half full of someone else's trash. Clearer instructions on the trash would have been nice. The pictures on Booking.com and even Zillow do not accurately depict the condition of the house. Lots of trash around the outside of the house and in the rock gardens around back.
I don't know if a lot of families stay here, but more actual beds and not bunk beds would be nice. Wasn't a deal breaker for our group. The biggest issue was the mouse infestation. There were mouse droppings everywhere. The kitchen counter, pantry, under the sink, stairs going to the basement, rooms in the basement, master bath counter, master bath closet. Everywhere. We lost probably $100.00 worth of food that was left out on the counter the first night as the mice got into everything. All the shelves in the pantry are covered in mouse urine. The pantry reeks of mouse urine.
I don't like that there was another $500 charge to my credit card for a "Security Deposit" that I did not know I would be charged. The only way I knew about it was because of a Chase Fraud Alert from my credit card.
The AC would not go below 74° and it was 106° our first day there. Thank God for the Attic fan we found by flipping one of the 65 light switches.
I don't know if you have a cleaning service come through between renters, but they did not do a good job of cleaning. There were ashes by the living room fireplace. All the counters around the pantry were sticky and had mouse urine and droppings on them.
There is more I could add but I have reached my character limit.
- Michael (6/5): Comfortable. - Location Spa needs to be cleaned.
- Anonymous (8/5): Overall a beautiful property that met our needs. Only a couple of tweaks needed to make it exceptional. - Gorgeous views, very clean, large enough to accommodate large families. Hot tub didn’t work (one reason why we picked this property). We eventually got it to operate, but the water was stale and needed cleaning.
The fireplace didn’t work.
There wasn’t enough couch space in the main room to accommodate the number in our group.
- Joyce (10/5): Fantastic stay, the location is in the middle of all activities from Spearfish down to Custer. - Location of property, it was quite and grand children loved watching the deer and turkeys. Disappointed that the hot tub was not functioning. It should be removed from the list of items on property, little ones thought they were going to be able to get into the hot tub with adults.
- Brandon (9/5): everything was great. house was awesome. will come back - awesome house kinda tight area if you have trailers on
