- Emily (10/5): Exceptional hospitality, lovely hotel - Lovely accommodation in Galle, lots of wildlife (chipmunks, peacocks, a family of monkeys!), and supermarkets and a fruit market just up the road. I stayed here as a medical student while doing my medical elective at Galle National Hospital, which is a 20-25 minute walk away. My room was lovely, it had AC, a double bed with a mosquito net, desk and chair, mini fridge and a small balcony! There is a water dispenser for drinking water in the reception area as well. The hospitality at Galle Camellia is unmatched. The host, Garmini, was incredibly kind and helpful, and gave me his WhatsApp number so I could contact him if I needed anything. You can ask for breakfast/dinner for a small charge - they cook incredible food, and I was often given dinner for free, with small desserts as well! It’s a little off the beaten path, but very easy to get to Galle Central Bus station (next to Galle Fort) with the bus or a taxi. The only thing that could be improved would be the cleaning of the surfaces/the floor in the room, I wiped these down when I arrived, but the bedsheets and towels were all fresh.

Fuori dalla confusione del centro di Galle ma con Tuk Tuk si arriva a Galle fort in 10 minuti e con costo molto basso. Possibilità di lasciare auto nel cortile se si arriva con propria auto. Proprietario super gentile e disponibile. Nulla.

Frigo et clim dans la chambre sont très pratiques. La terrasse vue sur la piscine top Il manque de la pression dans la salle de bains et la douche a un petit filet d'eau.

The place is very clean and there’s plenty of space to relax and spread out. There’s also a nearby bus that takes you straight to the old town. Highly recommended!

The villa is in a great location, peaceful and beautiful, and the place is very well-kept and comfortable. However, what truly made my stay exceptional was the incredible support from the staff. During my stay, I lost a bag containing important documents and money, which naturally left me feeling stressed and anxious. But the staff at Galle Camellia went above and beyond to help me. They were quick to assist, showing genuine care and commitment in resolving the situation. Their prompt actions and thoughtful approach made a potentially stressful experience much more manageable. I felt truly supported and looked after, which added so much to the overall positive experience of my stay. The food was also fantastic. The breakfast had a great variety of delicious dishes, both local and international, and it was a perfect way to start the day. The staff was always friendly and ready to help with anything I needed, making my stay even more enjoyable. Galle Camellia felt like a home away from home, with staff who treat you like family. - Eben (3/5): Last resort - Hmm let me think… Location for definite, the breakfast is served before you go for it so everything apart from the tea is cold. Rice and curry and veg served but I suspect the food had been cooked the night before.
