- DeKarus (7/5): -
- Daniel Francis (8/5): Excellent Property. Excellent location. - Very clean and well maintained. I like the wooden flooring. The rooms are nice. Property has a wide central area for visitors to mingle, watch TV, eat meals. Kitchen is organized and well maintained. There is only one bathroom/restroom for the entire property.
- Christen (7/5): Clean and peaceful ! An appropriate location to transit to others places -
- Radosław (8/5): -
- Paul (10/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- David (1/5): Nightmare - Loud roads next to it, rude staff at the front desk, saw a rat and several cockroaches, dirt was an issue in some walls.

- sodek (10/5): - friendly, helpful staff
- Fernanda Rendón (10/5): Buen hostal - Ubicación, el hostal es muy limpio, los de recepción son muy amables
- David Calero (7/5): -
- chris (8/5): - The owners are an excellent source of information, very approachable and knowledgeable. The location is good as it is both near the bus station and the port. The bathrooms were very big and clean. The kitchen is nice, and there is a great porch to look out onto the street. Although the location is great, the traffic can be pretty loud.
- Marcella (1/5): Terribile - Niente. Terribile non vedevo l’ora di andarmene. Tutto. Servizio, pulizia, accoglienza, posizione pessima zona.
- Jerwin (7/5): The only hostel in Belize City so far - The kitchen and bathroom/toilet are clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location is good. The upper bunk bed is rickety and not comfortable. They should ensure that the drinking water supply is always available and not let guests run out of it.
- Justin (2/5): - Na 4 maanden reizen de eerste plek waar ik bedwantsen heb opgelopen. Ga hier niet naartoe. Hygiëne en onaardig personeel
- Tim Blight (8/5): Best option for overnight (or longer) in Belize City - Friendly staff, fast internet, super comfortable and good location. Yes, there is road noise, but it didn't bother me - I'm quite a heavy sleeper. Belize City has a reputation, but this is probably in the best part of the central city. Belize isn't cheap, so while this is the best value and most economical option in Belize City, it's still not "cheap". The window has louvers on it which don't shut completely, so you still get road noise and warm air (and possibly mosquitos) coming into the room.
- Stefan (7/5): - Ich hatte unüblich quasi ein Einzelzimmer
Check inn früher war möglich Klimaanlage nur von 19-7 Uhr morgens
- Worldglobetrotter (5/5): BE CAREFUL: EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CITY! STAY THE LEAST POSSIBLE! - It is possible to pay by card. The place is fairly clean. Each bed has an assigned locker (for which you need your own padlock) located in the common hall. The kitchen is fully equipped (and you definitely need it because it is not possible to eat outside: too dangerous!). The hotelier was responsive to the messages on booking.com app prior to my arrival, which is very important for the organization of the stay: Belize City has only one attraction, the National Museum, which can be visited while waiting the ferry to the Cayes. I wanted to visit two temples using this town as a base and the hotelier recommended to me a tour company friend of theirs. I made one of the tours with them and the other with another company because there were no group tours in those days (very few people chose those tours as it is not safe to stay in Belize City). The tours were nice (especially Lamanai), although not the best in Belize which makes it even less worth to do for the incredibly high price. The hostel is centrally located: you can reach on foot the bus station to San Ignacio, the water taxi to the Cayes and the National Museum (but be extremely careful while walking, even during daytime). Beds have no privacy curtains, there was a lot of noise from the cars in the street even at night and the hostel is pricy, but these are not the biggest problems here: the biggest issue is safety. The receptionist leaves at 20:00 and then you enter digiting a code on the gate. You really must stay locked in from before sunset to morning. The Cayes are safe at all times, San Ignacio is safe at daytime, but Belize City is terrible. The hostel is located in the least dangerous half of the City (the part north of the creek). Do not go in the south part as it is even much worse. Belize City is among the top cities in the world in the infamous ranking per homicide rates. Tourists also get involved. It is no joke. An armed assault was made at the airport the day before my flight. In the streets the population will not protect you like it happens in other countries where locals do not want tourists to run away. I was queuing at the food hawks with plenty of people when a bum grabbed my arm and tried to bring me to another place and those people were pretending not to see anything. It was still dusk and nothing happened, but it could have gone differently. I recognize the signs of how a city is (just my background), and I can only refrain everybody from staying in this town overnight. You can have combined tickets ferry + van to the airport so that you skip this city (use the company Caribbean Sprinter: it has no frills, but it suits more the customers of a hostel as it costs basically half compared to Belize Express).
- Shih (8/5): Very good - It provides drinking water, and the environment is very clean. The air conditioners could only be open in limited hours, but fortunately there are also fans in the day time.
- Yonas (9/5): Superb - The place is clean with all amenities. It's nor far from the city center. Nothing
- Christen (9/5): A dedicated staff ready to fulfil any request as to enjoy my stay in a confortable setting. - The lodging, central in town is practical to reach to any location and has a well maintained standard by a caring staff.
The spacious common room welcomes you with all sufficiency, access to 2 larges tiles bathrooms, good ventilation, a large dining, couches including a well equipped kitchen and porches for extra ventilation.
The all staff makes sure the place stays well organized and spotless.
The management is attentive to your needs as to adapt and fulfill any request. The only sad note is the City traffic.
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional - Safe and clean place. Good management!
- Christen (9/5): I strongly recommend the Hostel to anyone to accommodate a low budget in a pleasant environment. - well maintained lodging with a caring staff. It was all good!
- Yuchen (9/5): Superb - Not far away from the water taxi station, and it’s clean Staff was a little on his own. And a bit pity only fan and no air con
- Anonymous (3/5): Definitely pass on this one. - This place offered nothing but a bunk, shower and WiFi. If you must stay a night on a budget…fine…if not, choose somewhere else. The neighborhood was highly sketchy and the staff was of little help. The windows DID NOT have glass…only storm shudders…one could hear everything on the street. Drunks and homeless were everywhere. I was asked by other travelers to walk with them for shopping.
- Shane (7/5): For one night as a quick short stop, it’s ideal - When it’s busy, it’s a nice sociable place 10 minutes walk from the bus station Far too noisy from outside traffic and people
- Calder (8/5): Very good -
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gregg (2/5): Overrated and overpriced - The problems with this stay started before we even arrived. They charged our credit card more than the stated amount for our reservation without stating anything about that on the booking. They said it was a credit card fee but never stated that would be the case or give us an option to pay in cash or any other method. When I asked them about this, they said it could not be reversed.
Then, when we finally did arrive, we had reserved a room with two beds only and it said single room AC on the details of our booking. We are given a room with the two beds but there is no AC, just a fan, and a window facing out to a very noisy street. When we asked management about this, they said we didn’t book the right room and we could go into a 6 bunk room instead which was not appealing as we booked a private room with AC for comfort and security.
Speaking of security, no staff or security is here after 6pm, they would not even give us a key to our room which was essentially private and the lockers in the main area were far too small to put any actual luggage in.
The lack of transparency and accommodation was extremely disappointing and I would not recommend staying here.
- Mohammad (7/5): Very good and comfortable for shorter stay - It's close to shops and food places and markets. The place is very clean and tidy with comfortable chairs, sofa and dinner table. There is big kitchen however the fridge and freezer need to be cleaned and maintained much better. It can get very noisy during the whole night! never stopping traffic, loud and noisy cruising motorbikes and trucks are very common. Also I made the mistake to choose the cheapest room, which doesn't have air conditioning! just pay a bit extra for all other rooms that have it, because you'll need it!
- Jyoti (9/5): Great staff and good place - Harrison made us feel at home instantly. The property was great and AC made it easier to spend the night, we went when it was hot. But it was great stay and I recommend it for sure
- Claudia (8/5): Very good - The hostel was very new and clean. Location super close to the watertaxi station. Bathroom big and with hot water. The location is a bit noisy and the bed needed more comfortable stairs.
- Wasi (7/5): Good -
- Pavlo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aureliano (7/5): Good -
- Shuyuan (7/5): Good - Kitchen, purified water, hot shower Bunk beds 沒有窗簾
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was very helpful and genuine. Willing to assist with any questions or even bookings of tours I was interested. No bottle openers 😝😅
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Zx (10/5): Only Hostel in Belize city - Value for money
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Li (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (9/5): Great value in a central location - Great hostel in a convenient location, and the staff is wonderful! The facilities are very clean, and the other travelers I stayed with were fantastic -- friendly, cool people :) I arrived in the evening and though there is a convenience store downstairs from the hostel, it doesn't serve food, but I got a recommendation from the cashier for a takeout establishment just a couple of minutes walk down the street called the Rice and Beans Center, where the portions are BIG, ans the food was delicious. There are lots of nearby food options that won't disappoint.
I shared a 6-bed (3 bunk) room with A/C, which I really welcomed, as it was expectedly hot and humid. There are 2 bathrooms, one of which is an ensuite in one of the shared rooms. My only comment regarding the facilities is that the water pressure was a bit low, both for the toilet and shower.
The hostel also provides an airport shuttle for $30 USD and lots of information for transportation for other tours. Thanks for the nice stay at the end of my trip!
- Kim (7/5): Good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good - The owners are really friendly and helpful and got an answer for every question you might have. Enjoyed my stay here Only thing that I didn't like was that it's quite loud in the dorms, because the hostel is nearby a street crossing. But if you got some earplugs it's okay.
- Diego (10/5): Nice Place to stay - I had a nice 1 day trip. I was able to walk to Albert street and go to Thursdays in a safe manner. The staff at this hostel were very nice. The room and bathroom were very clean. The matress was very comfortable.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice staff.
- Mani (10/5): Exceptional - The only hostel in Belize City. 15min proximity to bus terminal, ferry terminal and municipal airport. Clean place with great tips from the front desk. Nothing really
- Marc (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (6/5): Pleasant - We were looking for a place to stay for one night after our flight and before we traveled to our next location, and this hostel was good enough for being a landing spot that wasn't too expensive. As other reviews mention, the place is right on a busy street and could be loud. They turn on A/C overnight, but since they only have shutters (no windows), it was also somewhat warm. If you're a light sleeper, you're better off finding another spot.
- Adrianna (7/5): Good - The location near the airport. The AC wasn't fonctionning so it was really hot for the night.
- Dominic (7/5): Good - Very friendly little hostel, helpful staff/owner A bit expensive, but standard for Belize I guess. Belize City, not much going on, okay as a travel hub
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (8/5): Clean and bright, good location but noisy. - Clean!! Very! As in all feels shiny and new. Kitchen is fabulous. Bathrooms are clean and plentiful. There’s free chilled and filtered water and the chap who runs it is very helpful via WhatsApp, although wasn’t physically around for my check in but we spoke via the Ring Doorbell and that was good enough. It needs softening with a bit of decor. The light bulbs are all bright white so it’s very stark. The bunk beds did not have ladders - luckily there were some young ‘uns on the top beds so they coped ok but that would’ve been a disaster for some. Not enough plug sockets. Lamps, sockets and shelves next to the bed would make it 5*
It’s very noisy due to the traffic so make sure you have good ear plugs.
- Jim (9/5): Nice as always - This is my second stay and I will continue to book here. The staff is friendly and helpful and it is very clean and well maintained my only complaint is something they can't help, there is a lot of traffic noise from outside at night
- The (9/5): A solid, well-intentioned, continuously improving choice in Belize City. - 1) A helpful young host working super hard, trying earnestly to establish a great travel housing option amid several micro- and macro-level challenges, often overcoming staffing challenges by pitching in themselves.
2) Charming property.
3) Ample kitchen.
4) Hot and cold drinking water kept available for free.
5) Large bed in the dorm.
6) A good location at an important street corner, from where key locations are accessible. 1) Stairs difficult to carry heavy luggage up.
2) An ill-treated, yelping dog tied behind a house on a neighbouring property, suffering in the pouring rain, not separated by a fence, is a pain to watch.
3) Hot water tepid.
4) Loud sounds from the busy street intersection.
5) I wondered if the property was adequately secured, given the situation in Belize city.
6) Rain came through open windows and messed up a significant part of the wooden floor.
7) Dorms are a little cramped with little space to open luggage, although a huge part of the bathroom space is wasted - a redesign of the space if possible would be great even for the property to optimize usage, as several large open common spaces are unused, but living spaces are cramped.
- Hanna (7/5): Good - The Stuff is super friendly and helpful. I liked that they had a sofa in the common area. The AC is only on from 7pm till 7am, but they explained that it is because electricity is so expensive in Belize.
There are only two bathrooms.
- Valentina (5/5): Ok for the night, but a bit no safe - The staff was nice. Position, big bathroom and free water. The staff said to all guest from other room to use the bathroom in my room!!!
The staff got a guest to sleep in the sofà, this guest was strange, Always angry and asking strange stuff to us when no one of the hostel was there! I think he was drunk, I don't know.
The bathroom doesnt have anything to put clothes buy there Is a lot of empty space
- Frederic (3/5): Poor - Nice, clean bathroom. Common room is ok. Extremely noisy room, with no glass window (only a metal shutter). There was noise through the night, with trucks, quite heavy traffic, dogs barking, people yelling outside in the middle of the night. Very small locker. Bunk bed do not have ladder for going to the upper bed. No area for putting stuff in the room. No breakfast, not even coffee. Water... at times. No AC in the common areas, and it was very warm except early in the morning.
- Joy (9/5): A nice refuge in a dull city - Clean, helpful people, a good kitchen, comfortable bed. No curtains. Expensive compared to European hostels, but inexpensive compared to other local offerings.
- Σεηλορ (9/5): Cozy, central, clean - A very cosy hostel, although they say that Belize city is dangerous, the hostel itself provides a sense of security and a cozy feeling. The owner is very nice and helpful. The location is central and you can walk to the port if you take a very to Caye Caulker. Its very clean, you get a free towel, you have socket in every bed. Spacious kitchen and filtered water provided. The building itself is a bit old but it's very clean anyway, I guess it's really good for Belize standards. What I actually disliked is the fact that the windows do not close/isolate at night, there is only the external cover for the light but there is no noise protection, so that the whole night there was extreme noise of the cars passing by (it's on a central big street). I am generally not affected by noise by other guests in hostels so that I don't carry earplugs but in this hostel I think you need earplugs anyway! I hope the window thing can get fixed in the future because otherwise this hostel is so nice and cozy.
- Roseanne (10/5): Excellent. Friendly. Helpful. Comfortable. Affordable. - There is a large fully stocked kitchen for use.
Just outside, one building over is a friendly taco/juice/ cafe stand opens early hours for breakfast. Hot food shops , just around the corner. Everything close and convenient.
A short 1 km walk , at bus terminal, is food and farmers market: fruits, vegetables, etc
The city is very walkable , lots to experience, to see , to share and enjoy. Great seaside sidewalk for jogging or enjoying leisurely walk. Belize city is very safe , friendly people and Easy to navigate . Enjoy!
- Marco (9/5): comfortable and spacious - All good 👍
- Ahmed (5/5): Passable -
- Jim (9/5): Very nice, interesting location and places to eat/drink in walking distance - Friendly, helpful staff There was a bit of traffic noise at night but not the properties fault
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nanette (10/5): Exceptional - I really liked being in a dorm room with only one bed and one roommate. Also giving guests a towel to use is a nice touch and bonus The place was very clean, well maintained and Harrison was extremely kind and helpful. It's an ongoing complaint that there are no hooks in the bathroom. The room could have used hooks as well. I guess people ruin them, but they do come in handy.
- Hannah (7/5): Recommend for exploring the city or pre airport. Comfortable. - Relaxed communal areas and close to good places to eat. A good base for visiting the city. Staff very helpful.
- Bethany (9/5): Superb - Owner wonderfully hospitable and exceeded expectations to accommodate request.
The room and communal spaces are presentable and perfectly clean.
The location is convenient for centre of town, bus station and boats to cayes.
- Moore (9/5): If I travel again to Belize I would definitely stay at Travel Arts Backpacking’s hostel. - It was a good value. Harrison Arnold was the owner/host did an excellent job meeting any of my most simple needs. We exchanged American dollars for Belize money easily through Zellie. Harrison scheduled a snorkeling outing off of Caye Caulker.. A great snorkeling experience. I took a taxi to the Belize airline terminal.. it was overwhelmingly crowded. I felt fine when I got there by the time I got to Atlanta airport I had symptoms of the flu. Swollen thyroid irritated throat could not swallow had sinus congestion I believe that I caught the flu in the crowded conditions of the Belize airline terminal. I got home at midnight on Sunday was sick all day Monday and Tuesday weak/tired.

- Gerard (8/5): Very good - Run by a really lovely young couple.
The place has a great vibe and close to good range of food & amenities. Very good kitchen. Beds a bit close together, but they are moving to a new place soon. No hot water - get used to it !!!
- Altair (8/5): A great place for a short stop over or passing through the city - Walking distance to/from the ferry terminal. Cost effective and convenient airport shuttle service. The A/C was great. Good social atmosphere. Very few hotel options in Belize City and this is the best! Very noisy corner of a busy road. Not too much to do in the local area.
- Liz (8/5): Great safe inexpensive place to stay for one night in Belize City - Convenient location. Great staff. They transported me to the airport for $25 USD, which was less than I would have paid for a taxi. There was a lot of street noise at night.
- Dekarus (7/5): Good -
- Tanja (8/5): Very good - The owner is so friendly and does everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible! Since the hostel is directly next to the main road, it was very, very loud at night.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - Second time staying here and it was even better than the first visit
- Terrence (7/5): It’s cheap and has a bed downtown - Cheap hostel with dorm beds a 15 minute walk from the water taxi. Hostess is helpful and arranged an airport taxi. WiFi is strong. AC in the dorm at night. Not enough bathrooms for all the beds. Soap is not provided. Not enough places to sit in the common area. Lots of street noise, so bring earplugs
- Jeffrey (7/5): Good -
- Nikki (9/5): Great place for a quick stopover when you arrive in Belize city by bus. - A nice old wooden building with a few modern touches. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. 2 very large bathrooms, 1 is ensuite to a dorm. Beds were very comfortable with clean, quite new sheets. Friendly lady owner, good communication in advance and very helpful. Easy to get a taxi or walk to and from the bus station. I took a taxi - BZD10 or USD5 each way. Definitely worth the money when you've had a long bus trip etc. Nothing. It was all gd.
- Samad (7/5): Good - The staff/owner was very nice and helpful Location, in the meddle of more roads and result is a lot of noise.
- Shattock (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were extremely kind and the rooms were clean Only one main bathroom and another in one of the dorm rooms
- Colton (10/5): Exceptional - The host was excellent and the facilities were in very good condition
- Lucien (7/5): Good - During the night, traffic noise is too loud.
- Gaia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olivia (9/5): Nice stay - Slept in a 2-bed dormitory, with A/C. Nice bedroom, clean shared bathroom. Some restaurants around. Not too far from the ferry pier (walking distance). Good for catching an early boat. Noisy as situated close to a main road - was not a big issue for me though.
- Bethany (8/5): Very good -
- Jon (9/5): Superb - The folks who run this place were super kind, welcoming, and happy to help me getting oriented in my first visit to the country. They definitely created a warm environment for guests to hang out in. The place was kept super clean throughout my stay. Would definitely come back here if I visit again!
- Joanne (8/5): Very good -
- Shirley (9/5): Superb - Clean and friendly staff The Wi-Fi signal was weak in some areas
- Lin (5/5): Passable - Location close to tourist attractions No sound insulation at all . It is by the roadside and get super super noisy at night
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - I had a lovely visit. I was supposed to stay two days but I extended an extra day because I had such a good time. The location is perfect, the beds were comfortable, I made some lovely friends at the hostel, and the best was the host, Keira. She is extremely kind and helpful and conscientious. Thank you so much!
- Christoph (8/5): Very good -
- Bryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jess (7/5): Good for a one night stopover - Staff were friendly, the kitchen was pretty big and well stocked. Nice social areas The upper beds don’t have any railings which made me a bit worried! The sheets were also quite silky which added to the nervousness.
The bathroom was a bit musty smelling but big and clean
- Tsz (8/5): Very good - The host was very nice No air conditioning in some room.
