Guest Reviews

- Patrick (8/5): Super - De heren die aanwezig zijn, zijn erg vriendelijk. Locatie is prachtig.

- Barbara (1/5): We dio the main road.td not stay because of the time it took to get back - When we booked there was no mention of the very difficult road to access the property. Not only is it essential to use a 4X4 but you need an experienced driver. We are in our 70s and it was very challenging. The name of the property is at best a misnomer and at worst misleading. It is not in the Chobe or next to the Chobe river. There is a watering hole where cattle come to drink.

- Juan Jose Avila Salazar (10/5): Amazing chalet in a wild life corridor - Everything was special
- Simone (10/5): - Staff cordiale, abbiamo avuto problema con elettricità della nostra stanza e ci hanno cambiato subito stanza.
Molto gentili
- Guest (10/5): Great place to stay around Chobe. - Incredible place with nice tents in the middle of nature, and really helpful and friendly staff.

- Shayleen (8/5): Very good - Such a beautiful, peaceful setting. The 18km dirt road was rather challenging, with lots of corrugated areas.
- Maarten (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ivan (10/5): Authentic botsuana - The staff and owners were very nice. The campsite is secluded from everything, making it an ideal place to rest or to get halfway to Savuti. They have a waterhole. We camped, but the lodges looked very nice. A great experience.
- Andres (10/5): Exceptional -
- Federico (10/5): A peaceful and well-located retreat with great views, friendly hosts, and easy access to top safari spots like Savuti an - We stayed in a chalet that was perfect for two—spacious, comfortable, clean, and wonderfully quiet, with an amazing view to enjoy at the end of each day. The location is tactically positioned, making it an excellent base to explore nearby highlights like Savuti, Linyanti (in Chobe National Park), and the Chobe River Front—all reachable within a two-hour drive. Although we didn’t have the chance to go on a guided tour with Titi, as it was the end of our trip, we’ve heard great things and would definitely ask him to show us around if we return. Martin, the owner, and his girlfriend were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful, well-situated retreat near some of Botswana’s top safari destinations.
- Gillard (8/5): Cute chalets with a beautiful view - The rooms were rustic but new and very clean. The facilities (kitchenette and bathroom) were clean and provided the basics we needed to cook our own meals. The mosquito net wasn’t a great fit for the bed for full protection. The road was rough like the normal roads, but watch out for the thorn bushes!
- Seafrontc (10/5): WOW @ Chobe Hideaway - This was an amazing stay. A true "hidden" gem. The owners, Martin and Meegan, as well as super-efficient "TT", is very helpful and knowledgeable to share any advice. We stayed too short!
- Ronda (10/5): Great quiet and remote cottages in the Chobe district with amazing staff. - Amazing staff went above and beyond to help us out!! Comfortable cottages with kitchenette (no fridge) and ample hot water.
- Veronika (10/5): A Perfect Escape at Chobe Hideaway - We had the pleasure of staying one night at Chobe Hideaway, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a seamless check-in process.
The setting is truly idyllic nestled in nature, offering an authentic, tranquil atmosphere with stunning views. The accommodation was comfortable, immersed in the serene surroundings. It’s the perfect spot for travelers seeking peace while staying close to the wonders of Chobe National Park.
Thank you, Martin and Titi for everything and making us feel like we were at home!
If you’re looking for a retreat that combines comfort, nature, and exceptional service, Chobe Hideaway is a fantastic choice.
We would absolutely stay here again if we were around!
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): What a gem! Thanks Martin you’ve made an exclusive hideaway. Great value for money. Despite being there in Feb in the ra - The exclusivity. The surroundings. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. The flies but rainy season…
- André (10/5): An absolute must stay between Kasane and Savuti - We had one chalet and 2 people camping next to it. I´d say this one is a very special place on a worldwide scale. You stay in a comfy bed with a warm shower and can watch elephants drinking a the waterhole and sunset. Staff is super nice, too. Owner is a farmer and you can buy pig meat from him. Road is signposted very well and the ¨diversion" that you need to drive to go there between Chobe river and Savuti is way better than the main road. So just perfect place to stay if you drive this route. Maybe for some people that bathroom and kitchen could be a bit to basic but those people probably would not self-drive there anyways ;)
- Sonet (8/5): One with nature. "Scary" and breathtaking. - The location of Chobe Hide Away is absolute breathtaking. Waterhole was very busy with Impala, warthog, giraffe, sable and 100's of elephant. We saw a lion during the night, but the elephants was not amused with her. The Bathroom not very clean (but we keep in mind that it in the middle of the bush). Kitchen very basic but you are not there to make gourmet food. The previous visitors left us some bones at the braai for snacks.
- Robin (10/5): Quiet oasis with elephants at your doorstep - Everything. It’s a quiet place, no thrills, just what you need. Nothing more. In the evening animals are coming to the water hole, giraffes, impalas and many elephants. We stopped counting after 50! It’s incredible Just perfect
- Cy (9/5): Close encounter with animals - The water hole in front of the house attracts animals to come and so offer spectacular views on observations of animals. The houses are situated in remote area and it is a bit challenging to arrive after dark.
- Barrow (6/5): We enjoyed everything it had to offer. The remoteness of it. Just relaxing and enjoying. - It was rather remote which made for a very peaceful experience. There is not an abundance of game. It is very dry so if you want to see game then it’s not the place for you.
- Johan (8/5): out in the wild - Wonderfull location out in the wild. Helpfull and enthousiast staff. Some nice spottings of rare animals. absence of bar and shop
- Hugo (9/5): Superb - It's a real bush experience. The tented cottage is as pictured.
Facilities are adequate. The road going there is corrugated and quite far.
The mosquito net needs some washing.
- Rodolphe (10/5): Exceptional - Martin (the owner) is a fantastic guy: he managed to create a remonte self sufficient place surrounded by nature.
One can see the elephants everyday at the pond.
The tents are very comfy and have a direct view on the pond
The lodge is ideally located between kasane and Savuti.
Cherry on the cake: Martin is always helpfull and has good advices.
Thank you Martin for those wonderful 4 days. Rien
- Nicholas (10/5): Excellent!! - The lodges provided an excellent view of wild elephants drinking at the nearby water-hole and gave a real insight into elephant behaviour.
The owner was exceeding helpful and knowledgeable about the local wildlife.
The lodges themselves were exceptional with excellent kitchen facilities.
- Sijanda (10/5): Lovely - View directly on the waterhole - two elephant families came to visit it at night. You park next to your treehouse. Please mind in terms of food it is fully self catering. In terms of equilement: they do NOT have a fridge, but do have cutlery, gas, pans, plates, water supply, below the house. Nothing..
- Jiri (9/5): Superb - Martin, as the owner of that beautiful wilderness cottage , camp side and his helpful assistant, we`re so helpful , with sense of humor , to be a part of real wilderness, ready fireplace for deserved braai time, admiring time for starry sky ,tremendous standstill , night hyena scream ..... area absolutely amazing !!
Only my boldness and Martin`s firm help, allow me, to reach that remote area with my unsuitable rented car - Toyota Starlet :-)
