• Carole (10/5): Idéal pour le Mont Batur - Idéalement placé pour faire la montée du Mont Batur. Chambre propre, accueil en toute simplicité par une famille qui cultive des oignons. Logement isolé.
• Olaf (10/5): Perfecte plek voor Mount Batur en de hot springs - Prachtige en rustige plek met rondom mooi uitzicht. De kamers zijn ruim, niet hagelnieuw meer, maar wel comfortabel. Gras en een zwembadje voor de deur en een overdekt terras voor je koffie of ontbijt. Het is niet hartje centrum, maar op loopafstand zit een goede warung en andere zaakjes mocht je wat nodig hebben. En de familie die het beheert is superbehulpzaam en wil je altijd wegbrengen.

L’accueil et la gentillesse du gérant : Nous n’avons pas eu de chance au niveau de la météo, mais heureusement le gérant a été là pour nous et nous a gentiment proposé de nous emmener et de nous ramener aux sources d’eau chaude. Le soir, il était impossible de sortir vu le temps, mais nous avons pu commander à manger directement avec eux, livré en chambre ! Le petit déjeuner était également très bon. Nous sommes également passés par eux pour le Mont Batur ; tout était très bien organisé et surtout arrangeant, car nous avons pu décaler notre heure de départ à cause de la météo. Comme vous avez dû le voir dans les autres commentaires, la région est remplie de mouches dues à l’agriculture. Mais le gérant nous a fourni une bombe insecticide et c’était parfait.
• Sarah (9/5): Great value, small, friendly property only 10 mins to start off the Mt Batur trail. - Small, quiet and remote. Only 4 rooms which are basic but comfortable and provide everything you need. There’s a nice lawn area and small swimming pool. It is located within a farming area (which was interesting in itself) and only 10 mins to the start of the Mt Batur walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful, organising everything we needed including an evening meal, breakfast and volcano tour. Excellent value for money. Having read previous reviews, we honestly didn’t find the flys bad at all and the property provides an area outside with a fan so we could eat in comfort.

The owner is very welcoming and super nice and helpful. Communication was perfect and he will arrange the hiking tour super easy. We really enjoyed the stay in Vulcano Garden Lots of flies outside but this is in the whole area as it’s mainly farmland around. The room was absolutely clean and no flies there.

Die Tour zum Mount Batur war richtig gut organisiert. Und da kein ATM in der Umgebung funktionierte, hat man uns bei dem Problem geholfen. Die Lage ist natürlich für Trekking super gewesen. Alles in allem MEGA GUT.

La piscina y los jardines son muy agradables y cuidados. El desayuno estaba muy rico. El personal fue muy amable. En nuestro caso nos quedamos para hacer la excursión al Monte Batur y fue perfecto. Nos ayudaron a organizar la excursión y trajeron a una guía que fue una maravilla. Lo recomendamos mucho y si puede ser más de una noche, mejor!! Todo fue perfecto.

Vi blev altid mødt med smil, og værten var behjælpelig med at få stablet en tur til Mount Batur, på benene - her med en privat guide, som også arbejdede på stedet; en så god oplevelse! Morgenmaden var super og omgivelserne/udsigten var perfekt. Værelset var rent og flot indrettet! Da vi skulle videre, skaffede de en meget hjælpsom, lokal taxi-chauffør, til at køre os videre. Skydedørene til værelset, larmede når det blæste, men det stoppede altid med at blæse om aftenen; så ikke nogen big-deal. Vi synes egentlig også, at lydene var lidt hyggelige :)

Perfect place to rest before/after Mount batur. As noted by other reviews, the property is in a pretty rural place and there can be lots of flies. Wasn’t an issue but is worth being aware of!

• Clara (9/5): Excellent pour l’Ascension du mont Batur - La chambre était parfaite Nous avions pris cet hôtel uniquement une nuit pour monter le mont Batur au matin. L’Ascension était au top. Nous avions rendez-vous à l’accueil de l’hôtel à 3h45. Nous avons eu une dizaine minute de voiture pour nous emmener jusqu’au pied du mont. Nous avons réservé cette ascension directement avec l’hôtel pour 20 €. Vous avez un guide qui vous suit toute le long de l’Ascension Et va, à votre rythme plus un petit déjeuner en haut du sommet. Vous avez également un autre petit déjeuner qui est compris dans la chambre que vous pouvez prendre une fois vous êtes reposés lorsque vous êtes rentrés de l’Ascension. L’établissement a une excellente localisation si vous souhaitez faire l’Ascension du mont, si ce n’est pas pour cela, ne venez pas à cet hôtel, il n’y a rien à faire autour Vous allez certainement vous ennuyer. Je suis personnellement resté une nuit et c’était bien assez. Il n’a rien que je n’ai pas aimé :)

La zona está algo apartada, si quieres algo alejado del turismo masificado es tu lugar, sino no. Perfecto pasar una o dos noches para la subida a los montes de al rededor.

• Sandra (9/5): Un bel endroit - Le lieu est très beau et très bien entretenu. C'est calme et le lit est particulièrement confortable. La jeune femme qui s'occupe de tout est extrêmement souriante et serviable. Localisation idéale pour faire l'ascension du Batur. Le propriétaire nous a emmené aux sources d'eau chaude gratuitement (10mn en voiture) et est revenu nous chercher quand nous le souhaitions tout en nous faisant bénéficier d'un tarif préférentiel sur l'entrée. Les mouches à l'extérieur mais c'est partout comme ça dans le secteur. Heureusement, on peut les tenir a l'extérieur de la chambre. Pas de grab ! On peut vous commander un taxi, mais le tarif est élevé.

Petit-déjeuner copieux, bel emplacement au pied du Mont Batur. L'hôte nous a conseillé un warung où on s'est régalé ! Il nous a même trouvé un taxi pour aller à notre prochaine destination. Il y avait beaucoup de vent la nuit donc les portes claquaient, on a eu dû mal à dormir...

La literie est ultra confortable (quatrième hôtel de notre trip et j’ai jamais aussi bien dormi). La piscine et la vue sont appréciable et un très bon warung à quelques minutes à pied. Ils organisent aussi les excursions pour la montée du mont Batur à un prix raisonnable. Donc rien à dire on reviendra avec plaisir ! Rien ! Tout était top !

The area outside was also very nice, a big table with chairs where it was good to spend time in the evening. The villa has an amazing view on the mountain, there's a few small shops around and a good warung in a walking distance. Our host Diana was very friendly and helpful, he arranged the jeep tour for us, gave us good recommendations, helped with the sim-card extension and was always online and responsive. • Laura (9/5): Relaxing stay with amazing hike with the hosts - The rooms are like little houses, which is great! They seem fairly new so they look like in the pictures. Spacious and clean.The garden is beautiful overlooking the mountain. It’s peaceful and quiet, perfect to relax before/after hiking mount Batur. I totally recommend to take a hike with the hosts rather than booking online. They have longer options which will take you to see more craters and avoid the crowds! It really makes a difference. And i was able to pay by card which is great, because there are no atms or exchange offices in the village It’s not the property and it doesnt negatively affect the stay, but you need to know. You are perfectly located for the trek, but the village is very rustic. There isnt anything else to do, and it is a bit hard to get food. But the homestay offer food too, so you can eat there.

The villa staff arranged everything seamlessly, and we were lucky to have an incredible guide, Arya, who made the experience even more memorable with his knowledge and enthusiasm. The location was also perfect—conveniently situated near key attractions while still offering a tranquil retreat. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay

• Willemvdk (8/5): Nice hotel to stay if you want to climb the volcano in the early morning. - The hotel is a bit in a remote, non-tourist, location but an excellent affordable choice if you want to climb the mountain in the early morning. The owners and their family are really nice and will do anything to help you during your stay; organize the mountain climb, arrange a taxi or bring you to the nearest good restaurant by motor. There is free tea and coffee the whole day, and if the weather is crab, they even want to pick up a meal for you at the restaurant. The room is big and has a comfy bed and a nice design, just as the bathroom. The breakfast is simple and tasteful, but one pancake or one set of fruit or one fried egg/omelette with either coffee or tea. So no additional fruit, juice or just some bread with your omelette or eggs. Furthermore, it would be nice if each room had a set of chairs and a table outside, if there was a deck near the pool with some chairs and/or sunbeds just to relax after you did the climb. Be prepared for the flies, so keep your room closed at all time or ensure to keep the net curtains closed at all times.

• Abdulkadir (10/5): Views - Our stay at Volcano Gardens was nothing short of unforgettable. The breathtaking views of the mountain alone make it worth the visit — waking up to that scenery is an experience in itself. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional hospitality of Diana and his family. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. Without a motorbike, getting around could have been challenging, but Diana personally took us on a full-day excursion where we had the chance to try authentic Lewak coffee for the first time. He also arranged a car for our departure, which was invaluable since ride-hailing services are virtually nonexistent in the area. We highly recommend doing the hike with them — their experience and knowledge make it well worth it. The breakfast was another highlight, offering plenty of delicious choices to fuel our adventures. Our room was amazing, providing comfort and tranquility, and the WiFi was impressively fast, a rare find in remote locations. Volcano Gardens is a perfect blend of stunning natural beauty and heartwarming hospitality. We can’t recommend it enough! Nothing! Everything was amazing! We will definitely stay here again!

I saw some comments and complains but for this price can you really complain? Only thing that I didn’t appreciate we asked for breakfast lady said okey and never delivered it. But probably it’s because of language barrier
• Andrew (10/5): Perfect spot to stay before the sunrise hike and get away! - This place is the perfect spot to stay while exploring Kintamani. It is minutes away from the trailhead of Mount Batur and beautiful views all around. The breakfast was simple and delicious and the facilities are very clean and modern. The host family was wonderful to speak with and meet, very friendly, and helpful with anything I needed. Nothing specific to this property but it is difficult to get a Grab to head anywhere else but the host was able to help arrange transportation for me to head to Ubud afterwards.

• Marcelo (9/5): Great place to relax after a long hiking day - The place is really nice, clean comfortable. Staff is kind and attentive. Nice view, very calm for a proper sleep. Just things are a bit uncomfortable but has nothing to do with the property or service themselves: 1. The flies in the area are very annoying. 2. The access to the property is through a 20 m narrow and irregular road. Apart from that, excellent.
