- Sandra (10/5): - The lakeview lodges were well equipped and the hot run was perfect. In an idyllic and peaceful setting with beautiful walks. We will definitely return. Few items missing from the lodge checklist but this was dealt with by staff quickly and very efficiently. All staff were a pleasure to engage with and made our break a pleasure.
- Mcmullan (7/5): - Great location, friendly staff. Accomadation spacious, hot tub nice and warm. Nice views over lakes. Cleanliness, we had to clean some items before use. We paid for early check in for 2 lodges and 1 wasnt ready by about 45 minutes on arrival. When came to vacate the lodge on check out one of the staff rudely tapped his watch basically to say get out when we was only 5 minutes over and just about to load the car. WiFi crashed but that cant be helped. One of the toilets didnt flush well and boiler had some problems which resulted in Freezing water.

- Sarah (8/5): Beautiful location, lake, hot tub……….tranquility! - Beautiful location, great size & very comfortable. The hot tub was lovely. It wasn’t very clean! The grey sofa had lots of ‘pet’ hair all over it. Inside the kitchen cupboards were dirty. When I arrived, it was lovely & warm but bedrooms smelt - it was coming from the bathrooms, it was a typical ‘smelly drains’ odour. The floor was a bit ‘gritty’. We couldn’t work the hob but it was fine, we didn’t really need it. Someone did offer to come during daylight hours but we were out all day both days. I didn’t pay the £100 because I’ve lost my debit card, I can see why it’s asked for but when the lodge wasn’t spotless, particularly the sofa, I thought it was a bit unreasonable. Particularly when it says 3-5 days before you receive back the £100.

- Bethany (10/5): Scenic, tranquil, relaxing, modern - Beautiful location, we had breakfast at the Makins cafe which was really nice. Lodge was stunning especially the hot tub. We went as a family of 4 and the children loved having their own room and en-suite each. Plenty of things to do in the area or fishing at the lakes is excellent, managed to catch a range of different fish. I personally loved watching the variety of birds flying around too. It was just the break we needed.

Close to everything at the same time as being “in the middle of nowhere” very quiet peaceful surroundings View from lodge was very picturesque Not so much didn’t like but higher fences around hot tub would have been a bonus. It was very hot and we couldn’t open the windows because of how many mosquitoes came in, so maybe netting on the windows would be ideal

- Zoe C (6/5): Would return and reccomend - The Lodge was beautiful. So spacious, asthetically well set out and lovely decour. You had everything you needed with kitchen equipment and things that were extra steps like tea, coffee, sugar ect. I abs loved the teapot (i actually want one now) Cleaning was for most part good. Loved there was both a bath and shower. The bath was quite big so very nice to use. When we arrived there was a xmas tree set up and lit which was nice to see with us staying over new year and the lodge had been kept warm for our arrival. Hot tub was clean and tidy. You can see great care is taken in these lodges for those who stay there. Staff was absent due to new year which was expected however Laura who helped book us in was particularly so helpful and lovely. Surroundings were lovely. Really peaceful and well looked after. All in all it was a nice stay and I would come back for sure. Just a couple of niggles that need ironing out. The bed is mis represented on booking.com It is not a king size bed. Its 2 singles pushed together to represent a king size and this should be advertised as such. Especially for someone who has a spinal injury the bed was uncomfortable as the middle gapping where the 2 mattresses met caused a lack of sleep unfortunately. Pillows were flat and lumpy and had to ask for more the next day as again very uncomfortable to sleep on but it was dealt with quickly. No toiletries (shower gel ect) found but not so much an issue just again expectations versus reality. Cleaning could do with a bit more attention paid. Generally it was fine but in some areas like above the bath and the wardrobe there were cobwebs and dust. Not a reflection of the Fishery at all but First night our neighbour graced us with smoking pot from around 5pm til 11pm which caused the smell to be quite over run in our lodge (particularly the bedroom) which wasnt great. We did complain about this. Each to their own of smoking choices but when its heavily pungent where we was then it became an issue.

- kiana (9/5): beautiful views, would return :( - the cabin was spacious which had more than enough room for 2 people and a dog.check in was easy with the instructions given prior to arrival. The staff are attentive, more than happy to help and so polite. the view and surrounding area are beautiful especially with the ducks and swans . the little extras like the christmas tree, wreath and tea/coffee facilities are such a lovely touch as well as the heating being turned on for us prior to arrival. The TV’s had all the apps on which is great. the kitchen is also great with clean/new appliances. some things are a little dated such as the hot tub which i thought was tricky to work. the bed wasn’t too comfortable as it was single beds pushed together. cleaning could also be a bit better with some dust webs in corners of the rooms, but nothing majorly wrong.

Would visit again - The clean spacious lodge was lovely to spend time in, the heating was quick to warm the room and both bed and soda were comfy The dishwasher wouldn’t work, everytime we turned it on it would run for about 10 mins and then start aggressively beeping until we opened it. It looked like it had tried to wash the dishes however it hadn’t. Also the hair dryer didn’t work which was a little disappointing. The hot tub was amazing nice and warm and spacious, however there were no instructions on how to heat it for the second night, me and my partner didn’t realise we had to pre heat it and by the time we came to get in it it was too late to wait for it to heat up. Other than that I am impressed with the facilities.

The tea towel was dirty and some of the dishes had to be rewashed. We got there in the dark found the site ok, but took us a while to find the lodge, signposts might be helpful. But didn’t spoil our stay.

Great showers, comfy beds and the lodge was very clean inside. Lovely couple have recently taken over the location and are very eager to help if you have any issues. We really enjoyed sitting in the jacuzzi on the terrace at night and looking up at the stars.

Great staff, place was immaculately clean and the staff at the shop/reception were really helpful and knowledgable as was the guy who came round in the van. Unfortunately it was ridiculously hot so the first days fishing was hard graft but we still caught. The last day was absolutely brilliant. My son and I had a few decent size carp on one of the lakes cabin. We will back next year. Lovely place. Thanks for having us

The man who greeted us at the front desk was really helpful and cheery! Double beds were 2 singles which was good if you were in a larger group. The floors needed a good clean and seemed to have a coating of something on which was slippery. We all wore white socks and these were black by the end of the day. Also there were no prosecco glasses (which wasn’t a major thing). Also could have done with a few more oven trays but we made do :)

We stayed as a family of 4 to attend our brother’s funeral and it provided a real home from home comfort. The views were incredible, Check in was easy and the stay was just what we needed. Easy access to site. Quiet location. Nice views. Constant sewage smell and boiler dripping noise. Kitchen under equipped- need more sharp knives, scissors, cheese grater, frying pan (not griddle), more cutlery and plates. Lack of coffee machine- though on pictures there was one (instant coffee/tea was provided) Bird poo on terrace, garden furniture, hot tub cover. Mosquito swarms by house- due to proximity to lake. Difficulty/no instructions for heating/appliances. Had no reply from host about internet not working.

- Jenny (8/5): Great value stay with friends - Lovely quiet location, very modern styling. Lovely warm hot tub with great privacy screen (although this did spoil the view slightly!). Plenty of space with lots of tea, coffee and milk provided. Provided dishwasher tablets. Plenty of parking. Allowed later check out until 12 for additional cost. As we were leaving they were doing a full hot tub clean for the next guests which was good to see. Surprising quiet for how near it is to the motorway. Excellent value for money. Floors could have been cleaner - they had a layer of dirt when we arrived as though they hadn’t been mopped so we got dirty feet! Only enough crockery and cutlery for 6 so needed to be constantly washed. Hot tub is difficult to step into due to how they have this fitted (I.e a massive step down into a seat or over the control panel, could have been situated to allow entry into another side which would have been easier) - also has wobbly hand rail. Heating was really hot when we arrived, not a massive issue but it was sweltering - had to open the windows which let bugs in. Some small niggles but didn’t take away from our lovely stay.
- Caroline (9/5): Great place for us to meet up with family - The bedrooms are very spacious and the bedding is good quality. En-suite bathrooms were great to all rooms and showers were powerful. Great location and we will definitely be returning. Very quiet and lovely to wake up overlooking a lake. Didn’t use the hot tub but it looked very clean and well maintained. No surplus crockery, minimal wine glasses, no champagne flutes, no tin opener

- Nicole (10/5): Fabulous, already booked for next year :) - The lodge was stunning spacious and clean! The morning views looking out onto the lake was absolutely stunning. Could not fault it. Personally no where to allow the dogs some off lead time, I appreciate and understand it’s a working fishery but would have been nice to let them have a wee run.
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely lovely lodge, so clean and warm. The hottub was perfect! The views of the lakes and the wildlife were the icing on the cake. The hosts are very organised and the communication was excellent. I will definitely be staying again and recommending.

- Leahel (10/5): It was perfect just a shame about the unclean floors - Lovely location view was beautiful It smelt fresh with bleach on arrival to the cabin, until shoes taken off and so me and my partner could show off and wear our matching socks, but with mine being he white pair I noticed when taking them off to get into the hot tub, I’d noticed they were very dirty with alot of short hair similar to an animal or someone with shorter hair than me. - Owen (8/5): great value for the size of the lodge especially considering the hot tub. - The lodge was much bigger then expected, done to a very high standard and clean. A bit close to the motorway, bu you got used to the noise. The oven was a bit dated, all the markings had rubbed off so a bit of a guessing game to use it and finally, our lodge had obviously been used by a group who smoked a lot of weed in the property. The living area (less so the bedrooms) smelt strongly of weed, the smell was in the sofa cushions. Obviously, if this was the group before us there wouldn't have been much the hosts could have done to get rid of the smell but the sofa cushions need a thourough clean. If in a few weeks people are still posting about lodge 2 having a strong smell of weed then you'd want to mark them down for cleanliness

- Anisha (9/5): Relaxing stay - Great stay! Easy check in, property was already warm when we arrived and the hot tub was ready to use. Spacious property. More privacy around the hot tub and deck would be ideal.

- Con4057 (10/5): Great family get away for New Year - The size of the lodge was great, everything we could have needed was available, every room was a good size with an ensuite which was ideal! the site was perfect to go out for a walk around the lakes and it was close enough to plenty of attractions to have some great family days out. The staff were friendly and always happy to help, could not fault the place! If i had to choose something it would be that the beds were not very comfortable but that was a minor issue and it is not enough to put us off returning!
