Guest Reviews
- Natalie (10/5): -
- Jayne (10/5): Delightful and comfortable stay. - Exceptionally good quality accomodation. Friendly host and home away from home!
- Alanna (10/5): Gina creates a wonderful atmosphere. - We had the perfect experience! Would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere quaint and comfortable in Yungaburra.
- Allison (8/5): - We loved Williams Lodge, it was very comfortable and lovely. We really liked the bathroom. We didn't like the aircon, it was noisy and the vent was broken.
- Willem (10/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Sue (9/5): Very good -
- Natsuko (8/5): This lodge had everything we needed - We couldn't find a place first, and Jina came out waited for us.
She was very kind and welcoming us.
We stayed birdwing self-contained lodge which was just a minute drive from William Lodge.
It was very clean, we enjoyed the big bath, both bedrooms had good-sized beds.
The kitchen has gas cook top, and a washing machine and dryer.
The lodge had everything we needed.
The Champagne was nice, outside area was nice.
We went for a walk to the river and tried to find Platypus every morning and went to drive to Lake eacham for a swim every day.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you 😊 Fruits bads were bit noisy at night, so we closed all windows and turned the air con on then it was OK.
- Jeanie (10/5): Great - A comfy couch tk watch a movie
- Liz (9/5): Great place to stay and central for touring the Tablelands. An easy walk to the shops, pub and cafés - We stayed at Birdwing Cottage which is almost surrounded by forest. The birdsong at dusk was fantastic.
It is very roomy with an older atmosphere and has everything you need. No broadband internet. Although it was never promised in the advertising.
- catherine (8/5): Bonne situation géographique , proche de tout , chambre très confortable avec un extérieur sympa -
- Rod Dew (8/5): A comfortable, convenient place to stay to explore the Atherton Tablelands - Williams Lodge is a lovely heritage type house. We received a warm welcome and our room was clean and tidy. It opened up on to the lawn where we could sit and have a drink or breakfast. It is located a short walk into the village and to Petersons Creek. We walked to the latter v early on two mornings and watched the platypus'. There were plenty of bats as well but we didn't see any tree kangaroos! It would have been good to have a cook top and more utensils for preparing up our own food but this is not a major issue for us
- Richard (10/5): -
- Bella (10/5): -
- Marcella (9/5): - Loved the location and the history of the property
- Martin (10/5): - A beautiful historic property in a great location - easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shops and platypus viewing. Host was very friendly and provided prosecco, cheese and crackers and chocolate on arrival. Pool area was very relaxing as well. Leaving!
- Andrea (10/5): Great holiday. Thank you Gina for terrific attention. - Accomodation was perfect for our family gathering. It was wonderful to be so close to the local Pub and restaurants. We walked most places. As a family group having 3 rooms worked so very well.
- Andrea (10/5): Perfect accomodation for our family holiday. - This property was perfect for our extended family. We were able to enjoy the wonderful pool area and outdoor casual areas while having the privacy of 3 seperate rooms to sleep. It is so convenient to the local cafes and shops. We walked most places. What a pleasure. Our hostess Gina was very helpful. We also enjoyed a very lovely welcome treat of wine, cheese and crackers; and chocolate. Very nice touch. Plenty of pool and bathroom towels.
- Dana (10/5): - We stayed in one of the bungalows, immersed in the bush right by the trail to Peterson Creek, where you can spot platypus and flying foxes. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by nature. The balcony was beautiful, we had breakfast there each morning. The house is designed in a charming vintage style, cosy and comfortable, and the host was very welcoming. No Wi-Fi, but the beauty of nature more than compensated
- Dazza (10/5): Beautifully presented and comfortable accommodation, close to town centre, and well priced. - All three accommodation units were exceptionally clean and well-presented, and a lot more spacious than expected. We received a very warm welcome from Gina, and each room had a lovely hamper which was well received. The rooms had very comfortable beds, sofas and other furnishings that fitted well with the "old-age" lodge style of accommodation. The lodge gardens were well maintained and there were plenty of common areas around the pool (which we didn't use) but looked great. The separate two-bed chalet was within walking distance (300mts) from the lodge and included a cosy lounge area with fire (plenty of firewood) that our group of eight used for our evening meals/drinks. All accommodation units were only a few 100 metres walking distance to the town centre.
Altogether, as a group, we would recommend this accommodation without hesitation. Nothing - everything was perfect!

- Caroline (9/5): Peaceful stay in Yungaburra - We stayed in one of the cottages: very clean, comfortable and well equipped, parking right outside, easy walk to centre of Yungaburra Only slight issue was that the lighting in main living area and bedroom was a little subdued
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb -
- Joel (10/5): Excellent! Definitely going back! - My experience with the owner was very pleasant, she is a very friendly down to earth person. Was a pleasure staying there. The bed was a bit too hard.
- Grahame (8/5): Very good - Spacious

- Gary (10/5): Sensational, convenient, beautiful and restful accomodation. - The location was brilliant for exploring the town. The Queenslander style accommodation was sensational as was Gina your host. The bonus was the amazing pool and the quiet backyard. The rooms are fully equip with everything you need. What I didn't like is the fact the place is so great once everyone finds out about it I'll never be able to get a reservation because it will always be full!!
- Jill (10/5): A cosy, clean, homey, private little cottage with everything one could want for a special little holiday. - Loved everything about the King Fisher Cottage which is one of two cottages that are owned and managed by William Lodge. The attention to detail to make everything just perfect was exceptional. The lovely welcome basket of goodies was very much appreciated. It’s only a very short stroll into town close enough for convenience yet far enough to feel quiet and private even during the busy Folk Festival weekend. Gina and Malcom made us feel very welcome and went out of their way on a very busy weekend to make us feel very special in their gorgeous little cottage. There was NOTHING we didn’t like.
- Robert (9/5): Very comfortable in an ideal position. - Lovely building. Gift pack was great. Pool, grounds nicely maintained. Spacious room.
Friendly and helpful host.
Bed comfortable. Only small things:
The kettle leaked
Toilet brush was stained
Cupboards had a mouldy smell
Would have been nice to had had an outside table and chairs like the rooms either side had.
- Davison (9/5): Superb - A very friendly welcome. We stayed in one of two cottages in a bushland setting. Nearby is a bush walk with potential to see platypus and wallabies. We had a very happy stay. A beautiful "welcome" hamper. We would stay again. We had to walk to William's lodge for a swim, approox 500 metres. The pool was stunning in a lovely location.
- Suz857 (9/5): Unique location - Unique very quiet and serene.
Beautiful location.
Great gift basket
Fantastic pool Would of liked a pedestal fan supplied
although humidifier was alternative.
- Jenni (8/5): Great location and lovely room - Great location! Wéll appointed, quality linen All the windows are obscured so it feels enclosed but there was a lovely verandah outside just too cold to use when we were there in August
- Bella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Delyth (8/5): Characterful property, great location. - Great characterful property. Great location being in the centre of town. Fab ‘welcome’ basket full of goodies! An information folder with some information/recommendations would have been helpful.

- Joanne (10/5): Short stay but would love to spend a week. Beautiful views, excellent facilities, not far from town. - Loved the cottage. Very cosy and inviting. The cottage was very clean, with a comfy bed. Will definitely be returning. Nothing major not to like at all, although an electric blanket & wifi would've been lovely.

Stroll to town centre and platypus viewing… best sightings ever of platypus and even saw a pair of rare tree kangaroos. The stay was tranquil and restful. Gina was lovely, welcoming and helpful. Her attention to detail with wine, chocolate, beautiful bread and hand made soap was wonderful. As well the privacy and views from the verandah were enjoyed. A place to go back to.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Casey (9/5): Superb -
- Faulks (8/5): Very good -
- Sandy (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning tranquil location. Stayed in our own cottage, short stroll to cafes, resturant and walk. Lovely and clean, gorgeous private deck and welcome package. Just wish we could have stayed longer!
- Prasser (7/5): We were disappointed. - No breakfast provided. Location was good. For $350 per night for 3 people, staying 4 nights, and paying a total of $1400, we thought the place was lacking the nicities which usually come with accommodation of this standard. Usually you are provided lovely shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand lotion and candles, but sadly none of these were available. Wood was provided for the fireplace, but not enough and not easily accessible, and the knob on the fireplace was broken and hard to manoeuver. The biscuits provided were out of date. Gina the host was nice, however attention to the finer details is needed. These things really matter when you pay good money for accommodation. They make the difference between a nice stay, and what should have been a very special stay. Diane and Ray Burns and Carolyn Prasser
- Liz (10/5): Comfortable, lovely stay near everything - Comfortable, warm, lovely to be in, a veranda open to the woods, a lovely welcome, basket waiting from Gina, very close to river walks to watch for the amazing platypus, near other walks and the historic town centre, near restaurants/cafes//shops Nothing
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Convenience NA
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful little cottage, had everything we need for our stay and more Nothing, everything was fantastic
