Renal (9/5): I loved it enough to stay here again, if I knew the bed was made softer. - The view! The surroundings. The cabin was wonderful, spacious, & cute. The main bed mattress was way too firm. I think a 4” foam topper could have helped. But as it was, I didn’t sleep well because I was so uncomfortable.
Carrie (9/5): We LOVED it here!!! - Property is well maintained and at the base of Mt Shasta! We loved the location. It was clean and had everything we needed for our week long stay The ONLY reason I could not give this a 10/10 is because the people that checked into the cabin next to our cabin halfway through our trip were extremely loud. Our cabin was next to the laundry room and every morning at sunrise they were up doing wash. Just a general lack of awareness for the people around them and the guidelines for the community. We will be back to Basecamp! This is a 9.9/10 review.

Titaley (8/5): - Wonderful location with all the fascilities. Rented the studio that accomodates 1 person, perfect basecamp for an active vacation. Wildlife snooping around. Nice neighberhood, went for some walks and neighbors are very friendly. Location is on top central located, towards town and all the trail are nearby. Very private and friendly personel who managing the property on daytime.. Communications with chatservice up to date and functional.

CJ 44 (10/5): Great place - Loved the place and location. Liked the ability to cook if we wanted and to have a real pot of coffee in the morning. The only things I can suggest is more hand towels and maybe a 2nd TV in one of the bedrooms in case we want to watch different stuff.
Bayard (5/5): Great location, but some rooms aren't worth it. - Very clean and pleasant. Easy check-in and check-out, and easy parking. The room listing did not mention that we would be climbing a ladder to get to the bed. The pictures do show a ladder, but I wasn't sure which pictures corresponded with which room. Also, the ladder can get slightly slippery, which is not a good experience when we're climbing down to reach the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Mike (10/5): A hidden gem in Mt. Shasta - An absolutely beautiful location to go with the family. The facilities are very clean and comfy. My kids are able to play outside with Mt. Shasta in the background while I fix dinner or enjoy a cup of coffee on the Adirondack chairs on the patio. None - everything was amazing.

Beth (6/5): The room was clean and the location was wonderful. - The location was terrific. There was a beautiful trail very close to the Lodge and town was nearby, too. All in all, the location was the strongest feature. The space was one large area that included the kitchen, bed, and sitting area. The large king-sized bed was opposite the kitchen, and the dining table was under a window at the other side of the room. It should have been the other way around except the ceilings were low (my husband bumped his head more than once) in the area where the bed should have been. Also, the window over the table was broken and didn't open, and the bathroom window didn't have a screen. As a result, it was hard to get fresh air in the room. In addition, the vacuum cleaner was left in the corner (no closet in the space) and it had not been emptied.

Patty (1/5): Immediate Disappointment-Never Recommend! - Bed was comfortable. Room was spacious and modern vibe was nice. No direct access to courtyard, no views from windows, uneven floors throughout (poor construction), bathroom door didn’t latch and door didn’t have deadbolt lock for safety. Property described as cabins but “cabin 7” is the poor stepchild of the location - but same cost.
Viktoria (1/5): Thin walls, loud neighbors, no on site attendant - The room was spacious and clean. The walls are thin and the shared courtyard has all the units facing it so if you like us get unlucky and have loud next door guests, you’re on your own. There’s no on-site attendant who can come down the neighbors and you are at the mercy of how loud and long the neighbors will have their party for so definitely do NOT recommend for those who’re seeking peaceful and quiet night stay
Peng (2/5): - Clean. The level of comfortness and safety does not deserve the price. I gave up the rest nights because we don't like the upstair bed. Somehow I was attracted by the pictures of other rooms and didn't realize the room was so small and the bed was on upstairs. I requested for cribs and I assume the front desk know we have kid with us. Anyway.. I think the room is more like for individual guest. It was a mistake to book the room.

claudine (10/5): Un break merveilleux à Shasta - L'appartement était incroyable, décoré juste comme il faut, très propre, et confortable. Nous nous sommes desuite sentis comme chez nous. La vue sur le Mont Shasta était incroyable, nous avons vu deux chevreuil dans l'espace commun. Nous avons adoré. Ce qui m'a embêtée c'est le manque de store ( ou autres ) au niveau d'une fenêtre dans la chambre du haut. En effet, c'était une étape pour nous reposer de notre road trip et être réveillé par le lever de soleil, pour certains c'est agréable mais pour moi qui voulait me reposer c'était l'horreur. Ce serait bien de trouver une solution à ce problème, sachant que toutes les autres fenêtres ont un store.
Anton (9/5): Wonderful room with good price and a room - The room was wonderful, large enough for two people, with a fully stocked kitchen. Compared to most hotels around Shasta, this one has a "modern" taste. We also loved a self-check-in and check-out. Location is perfect as it's not far from the mountain, trails, and the city. Also, the price was really good. Well, the shower was somewhat uncomfortable, as it's under the roof, so tall people have a little bit hard time standing. But - it's still a shower and did its job.

Manuel (2/5): I will stay elsewhere next time - "Cabin" 6 actually appears to be a reconverted attic with slanted ceilings affecting the bedroom area and the shower (I had to stoop to shower). Also, there is no mounted a/c but a window unit that lets the cold air in through the cracks. I could have lived with all that. The real problem is that the place was not cleaned or maintained well. No body soap in the shower container and, most importantly, the bedspread was filthy and full of big reddish stains. I texted the property twice upon arrival to report but no one replied.
Vrederinne (8/5): Heerlijke cozy plek midden in natuur met prachtig uitzicht - Het was een gezellige lodge, onderdeel van een kleine groep andere lodges, met een gemeenschappelijke ‘tuin/bbq plek met verschillende zitjes en een gemeenschappelijke wasmachineruimte. Dubbel bed op bovenverdieping met prachtig uitzicht. En nog een bedbank met tv op begane grond. Met nog een ander bankje en eettafel. Niet al te groot maar prima voor niet al te lang verblijf met kleine groep. Je moest via voordeur naar achterzijde huis om in buitenplaats te kunnen zitten of naar wasmachineruimte te gaan. Dan moest je deur wel op slot doen omdat je er geen zicht op had. Maar dit was omdat we in hoekappartement zaten. De andere hadden wel achterdeur of achterstal.

Edmund (9/5): Despite the AC malfunction, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and extended it by a day. - Quiet! Virtually across the street from the Peace Meditation Garden. The AC wasn’t working properly and no explanation was provided online or in the room. The unit blasted cold air nonstop and wouldn’t shut off on the “auto” setting, no matter how high the desired temperature was. I decided to go with the simple electric floor fan and open windows at night. Not a perfect solution but ok.

Hussaina (10/5): - Very comfortable and beautiful interior. Perfect with kids, spacious and backyard is beautiful too. Every cabin should have their own iron. I have to wait till it is kept back by orher cabin.
David (8/5): Would definitely do it again. - We had a really nice time at the lodge, and it was conveniently located right out of town (which we also liked.) Would have to think about that. It was our first time going to Mount Shasta and environs and staying at the Lodge, so we were really just taking it all in. I guess that there's always room for improvement, but we really liked our experience.
alicia (9/5): Nice kitchen and location - The place has a nice kitchen. The place has a lot of room. Great location. A table to eat meals at. The bed makes noise with every movement. The air conditioner started spitting out ice cubes all over the carpet in the living room area. Luckily I was sitting on the bed. It happened in the morning. Air conditioning is on the ceiling.

Nathan (10/5): Best place to view Mt. Shasta from your bed -- would stay longer if I could have. - Location & Orientation. Cabin #1 faces Mt Shasta directly. We loved seeing it both from inside (the high clerestory windows) and the front porch (the Adirondack chairs) every morning and night! We kept having small brown ants come in over the kitchen table, just a small nuisance. Also had a minor clash with other residents because I parked in the wrong place (missed the signage when I pulled in the night before) -- my own fault, I suppose.
Venkata (1/5): Not worth the cost we paid - Proepety having kitchen was comfortable. Contactless checking was good. The split AC is was leaking water and ice cubes. Falling all over the bed which is right under the AC. AC Was making horrible sounds all through the night. The issues were not fixed. No compensation. Property manager was not even ready to listen to our pain points.

Paul (10/5): It's a wonderful experience. - The location of the lodge is perfect. It's right by the main route going up to Bunny Flat, which is the closest trail head to the summit in the winter. The room and kitchen space is clean and well equipped. Bed is comfy. The only thing we didn't find is a clothe hanger or closet in our room (2-person room), but it's not a real issue for a short stay.

Neil (9/5): Great - The style and fit out was great. Parking at the door The instructions claimed they dont recycle in Mt Shasta and to put all waste in the trash for landfill. In fact I found out there is a recycling centre in Mt Shasta so the owners should be encouraging guests to recycle. Some bins on site for glass aluminium and plastic etc would be all that is needed plus instructions. Its not good enough to landfill stuff that does not need to be landfilled
Tricia (6/5): Pleasant - Location was close to town. Backyard was cute, thoughtful, and well done. Modern facilities. Easy to park and easy instructions for entry. The building/lodge construction is cheap 1950/1960 style and they did little to improve upon it. The improvements were modernizing it by painting it white, putting in new plush carpet and placing cheap Wayfair furniture in the cabin. Plus they added a kitchenette with a small stove. Windows are org. single pane glass, noisy and old. Flooring was not level. You could hear other cabins when they were watching TV. The shower was terrible. The water coming from the shower head hurt because it was so forceful and it was impossible to regulate the water temp properly. The shower curtain liner was mildewed and smelly. There was a VERY small vanity where you could barely put anything down yet plenty of room to put in a larger vanity or add a small table/shelf/console. A few towel bars would have been great. Putting in a full length mirror somewhere in Cabin 5 would be helpful.

Leon (7/5): Basecamp is a cool place with a great location, but it definitely could use a deep cleaning. - Basecamp is a charming and stylish spot with a lot of appeal. It's the kind of place you often see shared on Instagram or TikTok, thanks to its unique ambiance and picturesque surroundings. The location is ideal, offering breathtaking views of Mt. Shasta and easy access to the nearby National Forest and local businesses. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you might need to prepare a delicious meal. The internet is fast, and the TV is large, mounted on an adjustable arm, allowing you to enjoy your favorite shows or movies from anywhere in the room. Overall, Basecamp is a delightful place to stay in Mt. Shasta, providing comfort, convenience, and stunning scenery. Basecamp might be a charming and stylish place, but it definitely needs a deep cleaning throughout the entire room. The bathroom was dirty, and the bathtub was especially gross—I wouldn't even consider taking a bath there. The sink could also use a thorough cleaning. The carpets were dusty and dirty, and the floors weren't much better. While the place itself is pretty cool, I would recommend contacting the staff before your arrival to ensure that it has been properly cleaned, especially considering the over $100 cleaning fee you're paying.
