- Lewis (7/5): Great location - breakfast poor - Bath and sea view were great Breakfast was bad. Placed our order and was on our table within 2 mins.
Eggs were cooked on Thursday (was a Sunday) and the bacon felt like it was cooked on a radiator.
- Gazzard. (6/5): Average out dated hotel. - Breakfast not the best but ok. Vermin noisey pigeons on outside window sills most of the time. Had to keep window shut.
- Sabine (6/5): - Die Lage war schön.
Grosse Zimmer
Meersicht Älteres Hotel. Bei uns waren nur ältere Gäste im Hotel, die enthusiastisch am Bingo-Abend teilgenommen haben.
Speisesaal benötigt neue Deko. Frühstück war essbar.
- matthew (9/5): - Very Nice Hotel Staff where very good breakfast was very good
- Sandra (8/5): Prima kwaliteit prijs verhouding met erg vriendelijke personeel. - Vriendelijk personeel. De kamer was een beetje aan de kleine kant.
- Nigel (7/5): - Generally everything was good Bit large and impersonal, also a bit noisy

- Sam (4/5): - Room was not as advertised on Booking .com. We were promised a room of 300 sq. ft, and this was about half that. Not in very good condition, and was tired. TV did not work properly, and we had to call staff. Staff were friendly. Decorations, building was tired.
Room not as advertised, so felt misled.
Breakfast poor quality. Coffee por.
- Christine (10/5): Fantastic stay and will definitely book again - Staff was lovely and very helpful, room was very clean had a wonderful stay Very clean
- Lisa (3/5): Very disappointed doors locked at 9pm in short it was similar to a nursing home this should be advertised as a old perso - Close to sea front Booked b&b the breakfast was terrible raw bacon and sloppy egg
Did not it and didn’t go back again
We were told there was a side carpet spent £52 in car park fees as no spaces and having to use the car park over the road ..

- Marta (5/5): Na jedną noc okej na dłuższy pobyt nie polecam. - Korzystna lokalizacja, łatwy dojazd Brak miejsc parkingowych.
Brzydki zapach w pokoju szczególnie w łazience.
- David (7/5): It was OK. Attention to detail even when catering for up to 180 guests is required. - Breakfast Breakfast was good well cooked
Room - Family room with sea view was large light and airy with 2 beds and good sea view
Location was close to amenities beach town and local theatre
Dinner - Reasonable choice, well cooked, - Meals Breakfast - There were no Mushrooms available at one breakfast.
Dinner I ordered a starter of Pattie with toast. No toast appeared and complaint produced a hot bread roll
My wife ordered a sweet of Eaton Mess which, of course, should have included Meringue as advertised. It did not,
a complaint to the waiter resulted in no explanation.
My wife uses a wheelchair. There is no ramp and everyone must climb 4 steps to get into hotel. Is this legal?
Room - The hotel receives 3 to 4 coachloads of guests a day and they like entertainment at night between 8.30 to 10.45
every night. If you want to go to bed early DO NOT BOOK ROOM 108 or others on first floor at front of hotel as volume of amps is high and made settee vibrate. I would be surprised if paid staff could legally enter these bedrooms without hearing protection under HSE rules during the entertainment especially on Sunday night.
- Matthew (9/5): Surprisingly comfortable hotel in the heart of Ilfracombe. - This is clearly a hotel designed to cater for coach parties, but it does so very well! The location is excellent - right by the beach, and close to harbour and shops. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and comfortable. There was even good entertainment laid on in the evening. Consequently, I loved my stay! Wifi was good in the communal areas, but was not working in my 4th floor room.
- Hal (7/5): Good - Great staff and location. Average age of the guests was about 75. Great to see them all having such a wonderful time. We met some great characters. Entertainment was great. Breakfast was ok not 'exceptional' but the service was amazing.
- Aspahan (8/5): Weekend break in ilfracoombe - Location was great, the room was lovely and clean, fresh bed linen and towels. Beds were very comfortable, we had a lovely view from the bedroom overlooking the beach. It was perfect. Small cubicle shower enclosure.
- Joanna (8/5): Exceeded my expectations. Customers mainly older but would be fine for a family. - View from room was exceptional. Excellent breakfast. Excellent staff. Entrance was not particularly accessible.
- Heather (8/5): Very good -
- Phil (7/5): pleasant stay - Location good, lift great, breakfast fine no clear instructions on where to sit for breakfast, one couple moved twice

- Artur (9/5): Superb -
- Pelle (3/5): Poor -
- Westpfel (9/5): Superb -
- Philippa (3/5): Poor - Location was fine, the bar and front of house was nice and sofas were welcoming I paid £230 for 2 nights and was given a tiny dingy room, which I presume was once a room to keep the laundry. The smell of gone off greasefrom the below kitchens was overpowering and Impregnated our clothes for the whole stay. The room was dated and still had late 80s beige and red wallpaper. I will be contacting Enviro health about the smell and a licensing issue, possibly a breach of one of the licensing objectives - prevention of public nuisance - noxious smells.
- Jenkins (10/5): Exceptional - The view the hotel and staff were lovely , breakfast staff happy and welcoming The smell of drain's in the room I was in room 405, I spoke to the reception and she was lovely about it said she was told that the drains has been sorted, but the smell was still there
- Monika (6/5): Pleasant - The location Condition of the room
- Vincent (6/5): Reception and breakfast balanced the disappointment of the room and service - Reception was excellent.
Breakfast was very good
Service at breakfast was below expectation
Room was shabby and lamp prevented sitting up in bed The room.
Service at breakfast
- Donna (9/5): Far exceeded my expectations. - Cleanliness, toilet door hand gel handle, entertainment, location, views from the bar area.
- Jason (7/5): Good -
- Jane (4/5): Disappointing - The bed linen was clean It smelt like an old people's home. Eyes fluid and mashed potato. With the rather unpleasant addition of a cabbage sewage aroma in the bathroom.
- Shirley (5/5): There needs to be improvement. Before I would stay there again. - Having a lift Washbasin was fixed to near toilet seat .So when you wanted go on toilet you had sqease in between the toilet and sink. There was know space. Bed was lumpy. Breakfast was poor.. Small for what you payed for. I had poached eggs on toast. Eggs was not runny and toast was not toasted enough ,cold. They are only open from Monday to Friday. S o know contact with reception at weekend. Only by email.
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful weekend 😄 - Great location for see views &walks eating out &drinks only a short walk away , local shops ABIT scruffy but see front & harbour lovely . Friendly staff, any problems were addressed promptly to make are stay memorable 👍
- Gavin (9/5): Superb - Good breakfast freshly served Position of lamps behind bed was uncomfortable
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): A good stay we have been to the Imperial before and we will probably go again. - Reasonable price and great location. The en- suite could have been better.
The sink was quite large and made it awkward to access the toilet.
- Alexandra (7/5): Good -
- Robbie (8/5): Perfect stay - The position by the sea front, staff are friendly and the breakfast was good Nothing, all good
- Sian (8/5): Very good - the room we originally booked was tiny so we upgraded and paid another £40 for a bigger room with a sea view

- Barzzz (8/5): Go There - we will be going again. - All fine here. Everything went well apart from WiFi in the bedroom. Someone had stole the signal relay. There was nothing we did not like apart from the weather. We chose a bad weekend.
- Tonzer (7/5): We were there for a function locally and not part of the normal coach group so not into Bingo - lovely young staff and very friendly Breakfast was good Tired Hotel needs a bit of T.L.C. to bedrooms
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Colin (10/5): The hotel made our holiday most enjoyable. - Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choices. Staff very attentive . The weather
- Batchelor (9/5): Enjoyable and fun in a great location. - Lovely breakfast nice to have fruit salad.
Nice selection of eggs
Well cooked Nothing
- Angela (8/5): Nice place - Loved the breakfast, clean rooms, friendly staff, great location Was in room 230, every night heard a bang, dont know where it came from but it was late very noisy in the mornings, hear things being moved about, bed a bit hard
- Davis (7/5): Adequate for a stopover - Staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is roomy and breakfast was excellent. The overall feel of the hotel was a bit old and shabby, but the price charged implied a higher standard. There is a lot of noise between rooms and from the corridors, so it isn't a very restful place to stay.
- Krys (3/5): Poor -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (8/5): Great location, great value. - The staff were great - cheerful and helpful. The room was very hot, and the floor was rather creaky.

- Carl (6/5): Pleasant - The location The hotel just seemed very dated all round
- Tucker (8/5): Beautiful lounge area enjoyed entertainment. - Excellent food and best service by staff.
No fault. Room was small could of been little bigger .
- Virginia (10/5): Fab last minute stay - We were upgraded to sea view room which was a lovely surprise. Room was very clean. Spot on. Staff very polite and helpful. Would recommend 100% Nothing
- Alicja (8/5): We had a great stay, enjoyed the breakfast. - Great breakfast. Staff at breakfast was exceptional! We got served coffee, full english breakfast and lots of toast. There's a selecton of juices, fruits and more.
Comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Walls are thin, you can hear ppl and TVs from the other rooms. Nothing you can do about it though.
Our TV was small but lots of channels to choose from.
Slightly outdated room but it is what you'd expect.
- Andrea (6/5): It’s was okay - It was ok friendly staff clean room but parking very poor and internet awful I had to get up early every morning to put a ticket on my car by 8.am Parking and internet very poor
- Sarah (5/5): A pleasant stay in a lovely town. - The staff were lovely. They were approachable and very helpful. Breakfast was good and served extremely quickly. The room was a little tired and the bathroom really does need work: the grouting in the shower wasn’t sound.
- Beverley (7/5): Good -
- Dominc (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): great value for money , excellent location , flat walk to beach , cafes and quay side - very friendly and helpful staff , could not have done more , very large and clean room after expecting worse from reviews . best to eat out as great choice of cafes etc very near by covering all tastes , didnt try breakfast for the price , nothing apart from re programming lift which had a mind of its own and price of town parking , but management team very helpful in finding us a space in their limited car park as I had large car .
- Woodley (10/5): Excellent hotel - Room was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Entertainment was brilliant. Would definitely come back again to visit. Would definitely recommend to other people More choice of beer on draught
- Stefan (9/5): Excellent service, delicious cooked breakfast - Excellent service, delicious cooked breakfast
- Anubhav (7/5): Good -
- Karen (8/5): Overall excellent - Large room, good views, great staff, excellent location and managed to park in hotel car park for free for the duration of our stay. Only 2 people in dining room, separate to coach tours that are separate. Silence in the bar while coach tour played bingo. Seems they are a priority compared to routine bookings although we payed extra for upgrade and room.
Poor quality Bacon at Breakfast!!
- Katrina (8/5): Very good - The rooms were really clean and staff were brilliant No everything was fine
- David (10/5): Wasn’t sure what to expect but the wife and I just needed a well earned break. Ilfracombe is ideal. - Everything about this hotel was far better than we expected, friendly helpful staff, cleanliness, excellent food. The location couldn’t be better when your only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour, beach, and the high st.
We will be back for a relaxing couple of days.
- Emma (6/5): Clean and confirmation - Clean bed linen and bathroom clean. Location good Dust on tea tray. No biscuits. Dated decor. Really hot in room and small. Booked a twin, payment was taken and when we checked in advised no twin. The hotel did give us two rooms but rather tired.
- Yates (5/5): Passable -
- Nigel (5/5): the first day was not good to be fair but the staff were helpful and resolved our issues by changing - Room 101 is known for were you send all the rubbish you don't want and 101 is the room we were sent to I'm afraid it had a poor bed it was uncomfortable but clean, the radiator was dirty and rusty the window in the bathroom only had thin net curtains and a pathway goes right passed the bathroom window anyone walking passed can get an eyeful so you had to be quick in the dribble shower six in the morning water started to drip from a crack in the ceiling next to the tea and coffee area coming from a bathroom above we complained and staff were fine and changed our room to 103 which was a lovely room and comfy bed so first night bad second night lovely breakfast was lovely leak in the ceiling dripping early morning bathroom window next to public footpath with thin nets no privacy
- Frances (8/5): Enjoyable stay, great location, comfortable room. - It’s in a great location, room was clean and comfortable. Can’t comment on meals as I didn’t eat in the hotel.

- Michael (9/5): Superb - staff were very friendly in reception-bar-restaurant in fact everyone. nothing really .we had a very good stay.
- Amanda (10/5): A little gem - Great location, very friendly efficient staff.
Breakfast choice superb. Bedroom comfy and very clean.
Foyer and dining room decor / colour way spot on for style of hotel. pleasing and elegant.
Stayed here couple of years ago in front bay window sea view room and great to see improvements/refurbishment underway.
Would be nice to see sheer voile hanging in dining room windows to obscure view of unsightly pipes and wall. Would like to see an effort made for it to be more disabled friendly.
Banners out the front -mobility scooters.
It seems the larger percentage of guests are elderly think more could be done for access.
Helped a guest down the steps with her walker.
Not ideal

The dining room was lovely, nice fresh food with happy friendly staff, we had the vegan breakfast which was really nice. All of the staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, I felt really welcome. I would love to stay again sometime.
