Guest Reviews
- Ocean (10/5): -
- Dan (9/5): Cosy cottage in a great location for cycling and exploring the forest - Very close to bike rental and cafe. Cosy with two log burners, well equipped. Good secure bike storage. Theres only one bathroom and toilet, but its clean and well appointed with ample hot water so didnt cause any problems
- Ricki Pet (10/5): Stunning cottage - The kitchen, the log burners, the bathroom, the garden ,the loan of bikes, and the location are all stunning, and the host are so helpful No snow, only joking, there is nothing we didn't like, that is why it's the 2nd time we have stayed here
- Emma (10/5): Perfect for Forest of Dean cycling, warm and cozy! - Location was perfect, off road parking and it was warm and cozy! X
- Eran (10/5): - cosy, comfortable, wood burners, games
- Gary (8/5): Great stay at Willow cottage. - As we were cycling, it was ideally located close to the FOD cycling centre. The added facility of a bike shed with power for charging the wife’s e bike was an added bonus. It was very cosy inside some nice touches like logs and well kept.. the host communication was excellent. Nothing to say we didn’t like it but, if being picky, Our bed was quite firm (should have tried the other room!) and sometimes the traffic noise was noticeable.
- Rotem (9/5): Charming house in a wonderful location - The house is charming and comfortable. The location is great. We really appreciated the extra thought like the many board games, biscuits and fresh milk :)
- Brian (8/5): A quaint well equipped cottage set in the woods. Great base for exploring the area. - A good location, a well equipped kitchen, good shower and wifi, parking, in a quaint stone cottage. Nice setting in the woods with access to walking tracks. A bit tight with steep stairs.
- Fiona (8/5): Lovely relaxing forest stay - Garden , kitchen and great location for off road cycling Very busy road and the rooms are quite dark
- Phil (10/5): We had a wonderful stay - Beautiful cottage , Clean throughout , everything you need provided ,we had such a wonderful stay and will definitely want to go back !!! Five stars !!!!
- Jane (9/5): Really lovely cottage with great access for biking in the forest - Brilliant location for biking and more generally central within the forest. Good sized property and really well appointed. Everything was great. Bottom bunk bed didn’t have much head room which meant are youngest wasn’t wild about sleeping there, but that was it.
- Mike (9/5): Great property for a Forest Break . . So many places to - The property was furnished to a high standard. It was immaculate and definitely more than adequately provided with all essential equipment.
Nice garden . Great location.
Very clean. And some nice touches!
So many places to visit . Nothing to dislike! The stairs are perhaps a little steep but good handrail.
- Karen (5/5): Good location for cycling - Location and log burners Remaining windows need upgrading to upvc, smallest double room had no middle handle to assist with closing window. The 2 mtb’s didn’t fit in rack. Decking next to back door entrance needs replacing.
- Laura (10/5): Relaxing home - Location was great as were racing at FOD.
Relaxing and homely.
Log burner to warm us up.
Spacious
Lovely garden
Very welcoming and responsive owner Nothing as is a great place to stay.
The stairs are steep but fine with ages of my children.
A downstairs toilet would be a great addition with a family
- Anca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricki (9/5): Beautiful cottage - Everything, the kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed,we cooked a Christmas dinner, the log burners are perfect and cosy, the beds are comfortable,my kids loved the bikes to borrow, the surroundings are exceptional,we had lots of walks, the host is brilliant and informative,we will be staying here again.

- Karen (9/5): Perfect location for enjoying the Forest of Dean. - Great location for cycling. Had everything we needed. Bicycle storage very useful. Nothing
- Marsland (9/5): Superb - Perfect location for a family activity weekend in the hart of the forest of dean, and close to the river Wye for some good canoe trips.
Clean, tidy, cosy cottage with everything you could possibly need.
Secure storage for the bikes is a great feature.
Well kept garden to sit out in a sunny evening and parking for two cars. We had a great time.
- Mcguinness (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Follett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilary (7/5): Great location in the forest and a very well appointed house. - not applicable There could have been some additional helpful items in the kitchen i.e. salt, cooking oil, clingfilm for sandwiches. Also a dishcloth - its difficult to clean down surfaces with a tiny sponge.
Stairs are exceptionally steep and with a step down out of each bedroom, it may not suit families with very small children.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - Property was very clean and comfortable. Great location for MTB in the Forest of Dean, Cannop Cycle Centre literally on the doorstep.
- Hopkins (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Very pretty area to stay, there's a super cafe at Hopewell colliery round the road, where we had breakfast.
This cottage was lovely and even our children didn't want to go home. They would watch the birds and squirrels play in the garden.
Although it was along a road it wasn't noisy.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Wow, this house is beautiful and has everything you need for your stay, a massive bonus is the location as it is just over the road from the Forest of Dean so no need to load the car up you can just bike to it. Marianna was fantastic with messages letting us know everything we needed to in plenty of time and checking in with us once we'd arrived to make sure everything was okay. There is also a secure lockable stone building to store your bikes in with bike stands, which is fantastic. We had a brilliant time, and we will definitely be booking to come here again. Thanks, Marianna.
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely cottage I would definitely stay again - it was a lovely place perfect for a short getaway, everything was clean and in good condition. the host was super helpful and gave advice on where to go locally i honestly don’t have a bad word to say about the property everything was great
- Josa (10/5): A holiday we will remember - The cottage is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Perfect for our family cycling holiday. Lots of wildlife around, we even saw a mum wildboar and her four babies. Nothing
