• sadie (10/5): Home from home - We are only back from a wedding in Monaghan. Stayed at the Glendale house B&B. We asked if there would be a room available early so we could dress for the wedding. It wasn't a problem John had the room ready. A double room with Tea making facility on the landing just outside our bedroom. God size room and shower. Nice quiet area with parking. Breakfast was beautiful and plenty of it. I couldn't recommend this B&B enough. John is a lovely man and very helpful.. I will definetly stay again if I'm in Monaghan. There was nothing I didn't like. It was like home from home

• Joe (9/5): Host could'nt be more helpful - It was raining when we arrived and John met us at the car with an umbrella. Cosy warm room. John cooked a quality fresh breakfast next morning. Lovely chats with the other guests aound the breakfast table.
• Michael (9/5): A good set up to see an event in Monaghan town, great banter with other guests at breakfast. - A full cooked breakfast from about 8.30 am it was just on the rural edge of Monaghan town. A good host in John . Little at all, it suited me well.

The location is very quiet even though it's near the main road, so it's easy to find. I would come here again and recommend it to others. The double bed seemed to be a little on the small side but was fine for one night.

• Chris (1/5): Don’t stay here. There are other clean B&Bs comparably priced. - There isn’t much to like, unfortunately. The location is not great - far from town and across from a small garage. If the interior of the house were clean, it would be a fine B&B experience. The owner of the house is friendly, but he keeps an incredibly untidy house. My sheets smelled like mildew as did the bathroom. The room carpet was dirty. The house in general smells like the garbage hasn’t been taken out in weeks. The kitchen area looks like a hoarder lives there - completely unkempt. Adjacent to the breakfast table there is a sitting area and above it was a fly trap full of dead flies. Made me sick to my stomach, I couldn’t even eat. The homeowner needs to get this place together. If he cannot do it, then someone mend to be hired to do this. But to charge travelers for staying in a place like this and delivering a clean suitable product is just wrong. I had to check in to another (very clean B&B) down the road. Do not stay here.

• Kelly (10/5): Brilliant stay with absolutely no faults. - Great stay. John is an absolute gentleman. He dropped us into town for a wedding we were attending on the first day and also offered to drop us in again the 2nd day. Room was spotless with a very comfy bed and lovely en-suite bathroom. Breakfast each morning was lovely with a full fry served. House only couple of minutes drive from town in a great location. Couldn’t recommend staying here enough and I will most definitely be returning when I am in Monaghan again.

The breakfast was in his living room/kitchen, and a little messy, but the breakfast area was neat and clean. We were very happy with the room and shower, etc. And tea/coffee available for us too. We would definitely return when in monaghan next, and highly recommend it

• Charles (10/5): The perfect host in beautiful Monaghan - John was the perfect host. Excellent breakfasts. Great insights into where to go and what to do. He engaged in long conversations on everything from local entertainment to thoughtful comparisons of history and governments. My room was comfortable; it had a great view. A shared common room had even better views, and it was great for planning the next several days. I stayed for over a week and will return. Property is a little further from town center than great for walking. It was really great for my steps !
