Guest Reviews
- John (6/5): - People hanging out, just outside our door until after midnight, verrry noisy, loud vehicles coming and going....
- Karen (10/5): - Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Room was clean with a fridge and microwave. Everything a weary traveler needed
- Gloria (2/5): - They didn't take dogs. We had to sleep in the car.
It was stinky when you walked in, dirty.
- David (6/5): - Let’s be real, this is a stopover spot. The motel sits right on the main road, so expect some traffic noise. Check-in is done through the restaurant, and the staff member who helped me was very friendly, clearly explained the security deposit, and even showed me to my room. The shower was hot and the bed was clean which is exactly what I needed for a night.
Would I stay again? Probably not, but it served its purpose and I got a restful sleep.
- Jocelyne (2/5): - The motel is in shambles, dirty with mold and a rat in the room. The young girl was very helpful and apologized profusely and helped moved us to another room, slightly better but still felt unsanitary. It should be taken off from any recommended listings. And it took a while for them to remove the usual credit card hold for security; I had to call them. Beware!
- Paul (10/5): Tidy and quiet. - This is just perfect for a traveling couple or individual. Quiet, clean, safe, and an excellent bed. I just needed those critera as I travel across canada. There's an attached Indie restaurant if needed. Just a homelike feeling.
- Garry (8/5): - About what you would expect from a roadside motel. Good service and good sized room. Drawbacks were no light at one corner of the
room where the breakfast table was and the shower head is a bit low. Other than that were pretty happy with paying $210 for a 2 nights stay. Good Indian restaurant attached/part of the motel. Bring shampoo.
- Greg and Donna (2/5): - Didn’t sleep at all - A/C next door blaring all night and security lights lit up the room all night and no on-site manager through the night to assist - walls are paper thin too - won’t be back ever!
- Sharon (2/5): - Cant give a good review for this place..
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fair for price. - Our stay was not bad. Fair for the price we paid. We didn't try the restaurant because they close at 9 pm. The air conditionner was very noisy and were bothered with some mosquitos. The bed was comfortable. We just slept for a night and it was okay.
- Robyn (4/5): - Older motel, but clean. Only one electric outlet and tv and fridge plugged into it.
Air conditioner works well, but right beside bed and noisy, shut off for the night.
Close to McDonald’s and Tim’s.
Good enough for one night.
- Simonne (4/5): - The bed was a queen which was a bonus as we expected a double. Room had a coffee maker but only one ele trical outlet in the room and the TV and microwave were plugged into it. We had to unpug the TV to charge a phone.
- Terence (6/5): - The room was modest and in need of renovation but it was clean. The mattress was well worn and in need of replacement. The Indian food restaurant associated with the motel was excellent but nothing for breakfast. No shampoo was annoying but the shower functional. Air conditioning noisy. Stag was pleasant.
- Karolynne (2/5): - Would not recommend anyone go here. We showed up between the said check-in times and had to wait because the “reservation person wasn’t in.” Then they demanded we leave the wedding we were attending to return to pay fees they didn’t originally charge. Also had to fight them for the $200 security deposit they charged us. Room was gross, bed was gross. Don’t do it
- Travis (4/5): - Door didn’t latch and window latch was broken, no coffee. But was cheap
- Sandy (4/5): - Bathroom floor was disgusting behind the door. Microwave and fridge were in the bedroom, there was an extension cord run across the floor to plug in the TV which was not safe, and a tripping hazard. TV remote did not work. Also 2 completely filled dirty garbage cans right outside the door.
Worked for the one night we needed somewhere to sleep, but not worth the price for what we got.
- Tarandeep Singh (2/5): - Terrible condition.not suitable for families and kids. They can use clean bedsheets and clean amenities. I had to move to other place in just 10 minutes of arrival. not recommended for families and kids
- Elsbeth (8/5): - It's old (renovated )but clean, friendly staff
- Claude (4/5): - Very basic room. No shampoo/conditioner. A/C was unbearibly noisy. I shut it off overnight because it was too loud. I am glad I only stayed one night; and it was OK because I got in after supper, and left first thing in the morning.
- Eva (4/5): - Its very dirty no plug in by counter
So had to plug in coffee maker on floor
Door not safely locked.
Chairs outside dirty
Not enough towels washcloth for 2 people
- John (4/5): - The room was not very clean at all, literally a huge booger stuck to the wall. The shower didn’t work properly either. The faucet had either fully hot or fully cold, but nothing useable.
At least the staff was friendly about it. No discount though.
- Lee (2/5): - Poor customer service, room was dirty, mould and rust in the washroom. Management didn’t receive or return calls to return deposit.
- Louis (6/5): - Just that the air conditionner was horribly noisy.
- Janko (4/5): - Everything is old, dirty and poorly
- Audrey (2/5): - This place should not be on Expedia. The tub leaks, there is power cords running all through the unit and the windows has no screens. The air conditioner does not work and the front desk closes at 9pm so there is no one there to help you. I felt like I was going to lose my mind
- Lloyd (2/5): - I showed them my booking reservations but cancelled twice without any notice. They blame Expedia for the inconvenience
- Carl (2/5): - nobody around in office at checkin time, drove around the building 4 times and tried every door until finally someone waved us in.
there was a piece of broken glass on the floor so obviously wasn’t swept. wind and snow blowing in around the door , windows and ac unit
This is a 1 star facility only because it’s better than sleeping outside.
- Michel (2/5): - Personne à l’accueil et personne répond au téléphone!!!
Grosse de temp et d’argent…
- Dallas (4/5): - Not up to standards
- keisha (4/5): - the people working there are nice but the room we stayed in had mold. i would not recommend staying there if its for more than one night.
- Redouane (2/5): Don't go there - It was the hotel or motel who i ever seen me and.my son veryyy dirty and uncomfortable bed broken door dirty water never go back there on top of that 100 cad i paid if did know that with zero dollar will never go there i went there i have young voy was very cold outside
- Kimberly (2/5): Dirtiest motel! - This hotel was filthy. We requested a refund as we refused to stay in a room that was that dirty! The door didn’t even close properly and cold draft from door. The floors, walls and bathroom room disgusting. We asked for a full refund and spoke to manager and he couldn’t refund until he spoke with hotels.com. We tried to find contact information from hotels.com and couldn’t get anything. We will never use this app again and will never stay at this hotel ever again!
- DANIEL (4/5): - Staff is not available in the morning for checking out, you must wait after 11 pm to get service
- Claudia (2/5): - There was no heat except for a micro heater..no hot water ..very old moldy in bathroom the box spring was stained really bad ..the $100.a night was ridiculous.garbage piled by our room entrance...
- Bruce (2/5): - As my momma would say 'if you dont have anything positive to say, be quiet.
- Adrian (6/5): - Could be cleaner.
- RAJIV (4/5): - Uncomfortable bed, broken door, there were spots on bedsheets as if they were not clean, no hot water in sink, noisy fridge.
Close to tim hortins, McDonald's, gas station and grocery store.
- Jacqueline (2/5): - We arrived at the Espanola Motel and found it closed down and deserted. The restaurant on the property, that was to act as a go-between, was deserted as well. Since it was getting late and nobody answered the phone (called a phone number that was posted on the outside of a building on the property - twice - 25 minutes apart), We decided that we needed to do something else and called it quits on this reservation. Thankfully there was a vacancy elsewhere. At 10:37 pm I received a phone call enquiring about our reservation with the Espanola Motel. I had a frank conversation with the person about the lack of staff at the motel.
- Ezekiel (8/5): - Listing needs to be updated to reflect the current name of the hotel (Espanola motel vs Suhkdev motel). Reception also doubled as a restaurant, and the check-in was at the bar. Otherwise, the rooms were very clean and seemed freshly renovated.
- Gita (2/5): - We booked our room online and it wasn’t ready by check in . I don’t like the condition of the room and toilet.
- Pat (2/5): - Did not stay here, I would sleep in my car before staying in this place. Only booked it based on the reviews very disappointing
- Becca (2/5): - Very odd check in at a restaurant. Lady stopped my check in process to serve other customers at the restaurant more than once. Nobody there to check out the next day and no instructions given. Very out dated, not very clean. Bed not comfy. Room very small. Not worth the price.
- rick (2/5): Horrible place to stay - Walls falling apart, toilet paper hangers and towel racks falling out of walls , shower had no consistency of warm water. Avoid this place. Not happy at all
- Mary Rose (4/5): -
This motel has definitely seen better days and it's in pretty rough shape. The people were nice enough but I didn't appreciate them photocopying my driver's license (not sure this is even legal and they did not tell me they were doing it) or the $150 damage deposit to my credit card that I was required to pay in advance of getting our room. It was super cheap so I guess I should have known not to expect too much!
- Judy (2/5): - Bathroom didn’t work. Was moved to a new room and that one didn’t work either.
- Karen (2/5): - To start, there is no designated check in office, you go through the restaurant which is not clear when you drive up. The first room the TV didn’t work so moved us to another room. The bed was ok, but tile floor when you walk in was loose, to the point we thought they would break. There was a coffee maker but no coffee, tea or cups. There was no hair dryer, or electrical outlet in the bathroom. No phone or clock in the room. Gave you a very small bar of soap in the bathroom but that was it. Location was good. I would not recommend.
- PATRICIA (2/5): - Motel has no receptionist owner sow up to ask for if and $150 deposit plus $100 for the room that was already pay on Expedia the door to enter the room all rusted pieces of wood on door broken toilet was plugged even take ove 1 hours to fined the owner he try to fix when to different rooms all plugged ask for my money back he said no he take some people out of one room said it was clean already when there was food and dutie linen on bed was only fix smell of very strong food smell all night couldn’t sleep with that smell also sings of bed bugs dots on linen worse motel ever if I could give it 0 I would
- Paul Lloyd (2/5): - No one on site when we arrived to check in. Called phone number on site. No answer. Booked a room elsewhere will be seeking removal of charges on my visa.
- Ravindra (4/5): - The Motel was on road so entering or exiting was smooth.
Problem was with the poorly maintained property. Breakfast was included in the booking but on-site was no breakfast.
terrible flooring, the tiles were loose and walking over was making noise and appears that the tile will come out.
Not at all expected.
- Amandeep (4/5): - Linen and bedsheets were not clean and quilts had cigarette smoke holes
Only one room had AC second room even didn’t had any fan.
The staff working at the hotel are really good and helpful though
- David (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Shrikanth (4/5): - 1. Room was in unhealthy condition. The main door was broken as shown in the photo and as we were staying in family with small kids, smoking and party sound was distrubed us from the neighbouring rooms. We called the resturant and they didnot help. We called police to stop it at mid night. 2. The bath room is without any knob. Hence it cannot be opened if you close from inside. There is no tub or water tap. Only shower and the water was coming very slow and cold. 3. As breakfast included when we booked the hotel, but there is no complimentary breakfast available when we enquired. As we were 2 families travelled 500 kms and just after the school break so we did not have choice to cancel, it ruined our overall trip.
- Sherrill (2/5): - The rooms were in poor repair in several areas. They supplied a coffee maker, but no coffee, no cups, no glasses. It was expensive for the condition of the rooms and lack of amenities. Also, there was a $150.00 damage deposit for rooms that had considerable damage. Take pictures if you plan to stay in one of their rooms, but I don't recommend it.
- Wendy (2/5): - I slept in my truck. Room #9 should not be rented out. There’s no heat/AC in room. Shower is stained, urine stains on wall of bathroom. Trim half off the wall. Don’t stay here! My son found raw seiners and bananas in the microwave!
- Bradley (8/5): - For the price the property was good
- ARNIE (4/5): - Staff was excellent as was the food in the restaurant. The room was clean but needed work to fix it up. TV relies on you having a subscription to say Netflixs etc. There was only hot water in the shower which fortunately wasn't too hot. Bed was comfortable but sheets could use replacing.
- Asha (8/5): - We like it
- Debra (10/5): - A complimentary dinner was a real surprise after a day of travel. Very delicious and appreciated.
- Diane (4/5): - The motel itself was in poor condition as was the inside of the room we stayed in. Bedding was not as clean as it should have been, walls and doors had scuff marks and dirt from the top of the door to the bottom. On the up side the food in the restaurant is considered to be very good.
- John (4/5): - No hot water, shower did not work, however dinner at the restaurant was great.
- Janet (8/5): - This property was good for what I needed. The owner was very nice and attentive. The motel is old, but you can see that the owner is putting money into the property. I am sure it will continue to improve with time. It was a very short stay on my part so fit the bill.
