- Pramodh (10/5): Cozy, pleasant, heritage and history - Aesthetics and ambiance and the passionate host to provide experience of a cozy vintage cottage with lot of history Nothing
- Harvinder (3/5): - Nothing at all. Nothing at all as described.Provided the wrong room, with no facilities at all. Not even a towel was there and even ask for toiletries and toilet roll. Dirty blankets which were not cleaned for years. Room. Was adjacent to another room with lot of noise. No privacy. You could hear all the co versatile from the next door. No heating was provided. For everything they charged extra. Highly not at all recommended.

- Nir (8/5): - The owner and staff were nice.
The room was large and clean. The property is located away from restaurants and places of interest. We had to order a taxi to go to Dharamkot/Mecleod, which was expensive and inconvenient.
Not good value for money.
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional Stay - Leela Cottages in McLeodganj is a hidden gem that truly exceeded expectations! The rooms are far more spacious and beautifully designed than the pictures suggest, offering a perfect blend of comfort and charm. Every corner of the property is filled with thoughtful personal touches, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The breathtaking views add to the serene experience, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind. The well-maintained garden provides a peaceful retreat, while the ample parking space—with secure gates and dedicated security—ensures a hassle-free stay.
What makes this place truly special is the hospitality of the host. Leela Cottages is also pet-friendly, making it a wonderful choice for travelers with furry companions.
- Glyn (10/5): Nestled in Dharamshala, Leela Heritage cottages offers an unforgettable experience thanks to the incredibly welcoming fa - A Home Away From Home: An Unforgettable Stay at Leela Heritage Cottages
Nestled in McLeod Ganj Leela Heritage cottages isn't just accommodation; it's an experience. From the moment I arrived for my six-day stay, I was enveloped in a warmth and hospitality that truly made me feel like I was part of the family who lovingly run this exceptional property. In fact, by the end of my trip, leaving felt like saying goodbye to dear relatives – a testament to the incredible connection fostered by this remarkable family.
What truly sets Leela Heritage cottages apart is the genuine care and dedication of the family who pour their hearts and souls into every aspect of the guest experience. Their attentiveness is unparalleled; they anticipate your needs before you even voice them and go above and beyond to ensure your comfort and happiness. Nothing is too much trouble, and their willingness to cater to every request made my stay seamless and utterly enjoyable. Whether it was arranging transportation, suggesting local experiences, preparing a special meal or just preparing a cup of the best masala chai their thoughtfulness shone through in every interaction.
Beyond the exceptional hospitality, the aesthetic charm of Leela Heritage cottages is simply breathtaking. Each piece of furniture within the cottages is handcrafted by the family, and the artistry and skill are evident in every detail. These aren't just functional pieces; they are works of art, each telling a story of dedication and craftsmanship. The unique character and warmth that these handmade furnishings impart to the cottages create an ambiance that is both luxurious and deeply personal – a far cry from the generic feel of many other accommodations. I found myself constantly admiring the intricate details and the obvious love that went into creating such beautiful and unique spaces. Nothing
- Akshansh (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was beautiful and offered great facilities. The owner is veey friendly and guided us for our trip. Would recommend you stay here for your visit! Everything was great.
- Diya (10/5): UPTO THE MARK, SIMPLE PEOPLE AND HELPFULL - A Perfectly Relaxing Stay with Breathtaking Views
From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be a memorable stay. The property was not only immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, but also incredibly comfortable — like a true home away from home. The bed was plush and cozy, the linens were soft, and every amenity felt thoughtfully chosen for both comfort and convenience.
But what truly made this stay exceptional was the view. Whether enjoying my morning coffee in the garden or bone fire in the evening, the scenery was absolutely stunning. Overlooking mountains, it offered the perfect backdrop for a peaceful, rejuvenating escape.
The host was also warm and responsive, making sure I had everything I needed. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. Can't wait to return!
- Chauhan (10/5): Amazing - The cottage's location offered stunning panoramic views of the mountains.
- The cottage's design and decor perfectly captured the essence of traditional mountain architecture.
- Edwards (10/5): VERY HELPFULL HOST AND BEAUTIFULL PLACE - Certainly I had an incredible stay at Leela Cottages in McLeod Ganj! The place is truly a gem—comfortable, spotlessly clean, and perfectly maintained. The rooms are beautifully designed, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. What stood out the most was the exceptional hospitality. Rohit, the host, is an amazing person who goes above and beyond to make sure his guests are taken care of. Despite our very late check-in around 3 AM, Rohit personally assisted us in getting settled into our room, which was a huge relief after a long journey. I cannot thank him enough for his kindness and support. If you're planning a trip to McLeod Ganj, I highly recommend staying at Leela Cottages for a cozy, elegant, and hassle-free experience!
- Duncan (1/5): Awful stay. Property did not match description - notably no heating. Unprofessional staff - Unlike others, I would strongly advise against staying here. The property facilities do not match the description on Booking.com, notably heating was not included, which given the location, is a necessity. Most kitchen facilities listed are off site. The gap in facilities do not appear to have been addressed by the owner to Booking.com despite assurances to the contrary. Owner was off site for personal reasons, the other staff were incompetent eg registration details were being solicited on WhatsApp three days after our departure. We had a poor nights sleep due to the cold and noisy neighbours, my complaints were not handled professionally throughout and I had to negotiate for items which were included. Breakfast was abysmal (toast coated with mayonnaise). The stress of dealing with such issues spoilt our time in Dharamshala. Stay away.
- Sanghamitra (5/5): Don't fall for the positive reviews - The heritage style cottages were pretty good. The rooms were spacious with big toilets and kitchen. The cottages say that they are not a hotel and they truly mean it. Though they charge you more than any above average hotel, there's absolutely no facilities. There's a caretaker who is not available most of the times. One towel was provided for a family of three for three days. No facilities of tea, coffee, toiletries, dental kits. The rooms werent cleaned, the linens weren't changed. They have made some arrangements for lunch and dinner with some restaurant I guess but after you ordered your dinner they conveniently tell you that they can't provide food due to some problem. It's 8 in the night, no online food delivery portals are functional and the hotel is located at a place where there's nothing available nearby. Weird.
- Anirban (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a nice petfriendly property in a serene part of mcloedganj. The staff there were very helpful. We had a good time with our furry kid.
- Geetanjali (10/5): Exceptional - I had an exceptional stay! Not only does Leela Cottages have an old world charm that Rohit, the owner is trying hard to preserve, but he goes out of his way to ensure you are comfortable and will also treat you to interesting anecdotes about the place. The meals are simple, yet hearty. The vibe is rustic, yet comfortable. Definitely stay if you want the feeling of living at a comfortable and warm homestay. If you are very lucky, you will get the opportunity to eat the yummiest parathas made by Divya, Rohit's wife, though that is a privilege that may not be expected by all - I was a lucky one. If I visit McLeod again, I will certainly not think twice before choosing Leela Cottages.
- Daniels (8/5): Great location, attentive host, reasonably priced. - The host, Rohit was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I felt safe and relatively comfortable. i did not eat breakfast but most evening meals were very tasty. It was very cold - I was only offered a heater on my last night. Meal portions were very large! Communal kitchen could have been cleaned more regularly.
- Kumar (10/5): Best stay - Best budget stay Amazing sunset
- Sagar (10/5): Best host - I recently had the pleasure of staying at Leela Heritage Villa in McLeodganj, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, the host was extremely welcoming and helpful, ensuring that my stay was as comfortable as possible. He went above and beyond by arranging a personal guide for my trek to Triund. Although I had visited Triund before, this time was especially memorable, thanks to the guide, Rohit, who was highly knowledgeable and made the entire trek enjoyable. His expert guidance allowed me to fully appreciate the beauty of the journey, and I felt safe and well-informed throughout.
The property itself was charming, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that made it a great retreat after a day of hiking. Leela Heritage Villa truly provided a homely vibe with all the necessary amenities, making it an ideal place to stay while exploring McLeodganj and the surrounding areas.
I highly recommend staying at Leela Heritage Villa, especially if you’re planning the Triund trek. The host’s personal attention and the exceptional guide service made my trip even more special. Additionally, they also offer professional trekking equipment rentals, which is a huge bonus for those who need it. I’ll definitely return for future trips to McLeodganj!
- Kumar (9/5): Superb - Rohit was a very good host... Nothing like that
- Chopra (10/5): Perfect - The property was exceptionally beautiful. It had a heritage value to it being the residence of HH Dalai lama for around 30 years. Looking forward to my next trip there Nothing. Everything was amazing
- Mehra (10/5): excellent - excellent excellent
- Behal (10/5): Great - Great Great
- Divya (10/5): Leela Heritage: A Serene Retreat in McLeod Ganj - Leela Heritage is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of McLeod Ganj. Its prime location offers easy access to all the major tourist attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. The ample parking space is a major plus, especially for those traveling by car.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. The highlight, however, is the beautiful garden, where a cozy bonfire creates a magical ambiance under the starry sky. The stunning views from the garden are simply breathtaking.
The staff is friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant stay. The overall experience at Leela Heritage is truly memorable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a serene and comfortable stay in McLeod Ganj.
- Bhavya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leonard (10/5): A family-oriented homestay that made me feel welcomed. - Rohit, the owner, and Rahul the caretaker, made me feel absolutely at home, which it is. It’s not a hotel. It’s a homestay cottage where I felt welcomed immediately, comfortable inside the spacious cottage room, and found rest sitting in the morning sun in the garden. It’s a place I could relax in. Breakfast is complementary and the dinner’s served are those cooked by Rohit’s wife and eaten by the family. Rohit was generous with his time in sharing ideas where to visit in Mcleodganj and Dharamsala. I recommend staying here. 5 stars. Nothing. It’s distant from the noisier parts of Mcleodganj and Dharamsala, which was a relief, but still close enough for me to walk to Naddi lookout, Dal lake, the Church of St John of the Wilderness, and even down into Dharamsala itself.
- Bunny (10/5): A Tranquil Retreat Cottage in McLeod Ganj - A Tranquil Retreat in McLeod Ganj
My stay at Leela Heritage Villa was an absolute delight. The villa offers ample, secure parking, making it a convenient choice for travelers. The homemade food was truly exceptional, and the beautiful garden provided a serene setting to relax and enjoy the stunning valley views. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience.
- Rama (10/5): Best family stay - Very comfortable, big rooms, clean and hygienic bathrooms beautifull big garden to enjoy bonfire and kids can play. No
- Sudhir (9/5): Superb - Very good place to stay, wonderful host, beautiful rooms, ample space for parking, and one of the best healthy breakfast, would highly recommend and this was a single day stay but would definitely visit again Nothing.
- Dogra (9/5): Superb -
- Sukhpreet (10/5): Worth it - Best location
- Andres (10/5): Cozy place - Very nice cozy place to stay, amazing host, and very good fresh food Nothing to say
- Priya (10/5): Worth spending holiday with your loved one’s - The location and feasibility of parking. Most importantly the place is much more comfortable to anyone. The asthetics of the place and the rooms are like i am living in an old villa it’s really a best place to stay in such low budget
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Tuhin (10/5): It was a awesome stay - Loved the ambience of my stay at Leela heritage cottage. You can always feel the heritage behind this cottage as there are many things to be explored and understand. The host Mr. Rohit is a great person with his hospitality and knowledge about many things.
- Ajit (9/5): Perfect Homestay. Very helpful host eager to make your stay memorable. Last but not least, enthusiastic staff. - Perfect Homestay. Decent comforts, spacious, away from the hustle-bustle, yet not too far from town centre. Would expect the property to provide some basic toiletries like a shower gel. Got one towel for a family of three adults, which is inadequate. There was a bottle of liquid soap, which was ok for a hand wash.
I would also expect the property to provide some dinner napkins/tissues.
- Debabrata (7/5): Good -
- Gaurav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chirak (9/5): very comfortable - Breakfast was good as per the price, good location, nice valley and forest view, i would definitely come back gain, and would suggest to all who wants a cozy comfortable stay. It was late mid night wanted to have a glass of bear but was unable to buy one because mid night.
- Jeswin (5/5): It is a good property in a nice area away from the hustle and bustle. - I liked the behaviour of the host Rohit and the staff Rahul. The space outside the rooms to park the car and play was nice. We booked in short notice by the time we reached at the property the rooms (part of the cottage) which we booked were offered to someone else and we had to stay in a very bad room. The bathrooms were smelly, the floors were dirty and the tap was not giving water properly.
- Kakkar (9/5): Best for solo travelers , friends and family. - i am a solo traveler, and travelled recently to Mcleoadganj and had a very good experience of the stay and the hospitality was too good, as a solo traveler i felt very safe the security was good, great facility's like home available, the host helped me out to arrange the trekking facility on a good budget prices with great facility on it and as well as the para gliding facility as well, host has many experiences to be experience by the guest and all are good, highly recommended, if you are a solo traveler do visit this site, much better than a hostel or a hotel.
- Ravinder (8/5): Very good -
- Ayush (10/5): A place to keep in Heart forever 💗 - My stay at Leela Heritage cottage was nothing short of magical. The friendly and accommodating staff made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The cottage itself was a treasure trove of history and cultural aspects, transporting me to a bygone era. Every corner was adorned with artifacts and artwork that told stories of the past. It was a truly immersive experience. The attention to detail and preservation of the heritage was commendable. I felt privileged to be surrounded by such rich history. Thanks to the wonderful staff and the captivating ambiance, my stay at Leela Heritage cottage was an absolute delight. Specs Thanks to Rohit
- Soni (9/5): Superb - Antique old school look of the property. Hospitable staff and comfortable stay. location was a bit far from main town
- Cathi (10/5): Old-world charm and a wonderful place to retreat. - I visited this place in 1999, when there was a tea shop, and I was excited to see that it is still a guesthouse. I came for a break from Dharamkot and those hellish concrete steps they’ve recently put everywhere. The owner met me upon arrival, a delightful young man, and showed me the rooms. Each is different and charmingly furnished. The Scottish man for whom McLeod Ganj is named, lived in on of the rooms! I had my pick, since I was the only guest at the time. I loved that there’s shared kitchen and a communal fridge, so that I could prepare my own breakfast. There are beautiful wood chairs and tables with a view where one can sit and eat or read. There’s a restaurant nearby where you can order meals and have delivered. The place isn’t known to most McLeod Ganj taxi drivers, and it can be a little hard to find, but the owner is easy to reach by WhatsApp and can direct the driver. I loved the old-world charm. I’ll definitely stay again when in the area and need a restful and charming place to take a holiday from my holiday.
- Dainel (9/5): would definitely come back again for a longer stay. - Had a great experience at Leela cottages, Dharamshala is a special place in India and staying at the Leela cottages makes it even more. The food, environment, service and accommodations were all top notch. The quality of service from the time of arrival is top class. Rooms are well provided with all toiletries and the housekeeping staff is highly efficient. Rooms are very spacious and very clean, truly a Heritage place to stay with all the comforts like your second home. Nothing.
- Rakhi (10/5): Quite and Comfortable. - The ambience is excellent. With great view of the Kangra valley. Conveniently located, where both Dharamshala and Mcleodganj are easily accessible. In other words a very quite and serene place within a bustling town. Cheers to you.
- Shiv (9/5): like second home - It’s charming and cozy with wonderful service, From the moment we saw this hotel we knew we had made the right choice. It’s surrounded by the Himalayan mountains. The Host live across the walk and he made daily visits at dinner time and spent time chatting with us. Rooms were spacious with self cooking service available. Would highly recommend. Breakfast was not a buffet.
