• Marijke (9/5): - We received a warm welcome and immediately felt at home. The apartment is spacious and clean, and it was thoroughly cleaned every week. The location is also fantastic! In a quiet local neighborhood, with a convenience store right outside, a mini-market at the end of the street, and within walking distance of the beach. Hadiza and her daughter are there when you need them and will do anything to help, even pushing the car when the battery was flat 🙏

• John (10/5): Nice place I would recomend it. - The place is so lovely and comfortable. And the owner is friendly. When you are there you feel like you are in your own home. Nothing.
• Oscar (10/5): Strongly recommend - The apartment was clean and spacious with great facilities and a beautifully maintained and peaceful garden. There is a small shop next door and the beach is only a 10 minute walk. I only spent two nights but would have loved to spend longer as it's in an ideal spot to relax and explore West Gambia at will. Hadiza and her daughter were brilliant hosts, very welcoming and helpful.
• Anna (9/5): super green oasis, very close to the beach - I had a wonderful time there. It's a superb green oasis for relaxation. The apartment has everything you need for a vacation. (You should bring a hairdryer, toilet paper, and soap.) The lovely and helpful owner has become like a friend to me. Many greetings to Hadiza and Cleo.❤️❤️❤️ No washing machine in the apartment (there is still the possibility to do laundry!) ​​No hanging space for bath towels

From the moment I arrived, Hadriza, the host, welcomed me not just as a guest, but as an old friend coming home. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and effortlessly serene. I spent blissful hours soaking in the beauty of the garden — a true oasis where time seems to pause and worries melt away. The conversations flowed naturally and were as refreshing as the breeze rustling through the trees. Every detail was tended to with care and love, creating a perfect space for rest, joy, and genuine connection. A truly magical retreat — peaceful, soulful, and heartwarming. I left feeling lighter, recharged, and deeply grateful. I can’t wait to return.
• Myriem (10/5): The gem of Brufut - Everything was absolutely perfect ! Booked last minute to rest for 1 night, ended up extending a few more nights ! The garden is nice, It's refreshing to see so many plants, the flat has a living room with a TV and reading space with loads of books, kitchen with everything you need to cook, tea and coffee, a spacious bedroom with a bathroom. The flat is super clean, no mousquitos, no AC but multiple fans, and didnt even use them The best mattress and pillow of all my travel in West africa so far ! It's a 10 minutes walk to the beach, you have multiples small shops at every corner Last but not least, Hadiza is an amazing host ! I was welcomed very warmly, she was available all along, she made me lunch when i checked in because i didnt have time to eat since the day before, she gave me a papaya from her garden, my first papaya ever ! She goes above and beyond for her guest ! Didnt have much chance to chat with the 2 employees Mariama and Faith but both were very nice Everything was perfect

The apartment and the entire compound were spotless, it’s exactly as shown in the pictures. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone!
• Diana (10/5): The best host in all my travel history - Honestly, it feels almost impossible to write just a review about my experience with Hadiza — it deserves to be a whole adventure book about an absolutely authentic experience in The Gambia, filled with the art of enjoying life. Hadiza, her garden of paradise, the warm-hearted people, unforgettable adventures and moments… I fell in love with it all. Being there felt like coming home to a place I never knew I was missing — like being surrounded by the kind of friends and family everyone dreams of. It was love at first sight — to the moon and back! This is something I’ll always carry in my heart, and I’ll definitely be back.
• Lisa (10/5): Excellent property, hosting and environment would highly recommend. - Hazida provided a service to collect and depart from the airport - made arrival so much easier! Mount Pleasant is a lovely contained and secure environment - with lots of green and coloured plants and a very friendly atmosphere so you can feel very safe. The walk to the local shop or taxis is easy and the people are very friendly and safe and you pass the local primary schools which is nice to hear them learning and reciting work. Also not mentioned a lot of local knowledge and guidance for tours and trips, a laundry service (I arrived home with immaculate clothes - and shoes!) and Faith can do hair braiding ! The property and the welcome was exceptional so would highly recommend as for me the value for money was very very good.

• Nicola (8/5): Great deal, very pleasant stay! - Beautiful garden, nice Apartment, spacious, well equipped, ceiling fans!!!, comfortable beds. Quiet area yet close to the main road and beautiful Brufut beach. Lovely host. Will come again. No hot water therefore bucket shower with water heated in a kettle. No problem, but should have been announced.
• Hoffmann (9/5): Superb - The apartment is very spacious and clean. Jamila and Faith are friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. The balcony is nice to relax as there is always a little breeze. I couldn‘t really work out how to make the sockets in the apartment and water in the bathroom and kitchen work, easiest is to ask Jamila or Faith in advance.

Comfortable, homely place with the most helpful host and friendly staffs. - The place had everything required to make a comfortable stay e.g constant electricity, wifi, well equipped kitchen, timely cleaning and changing of sheets, highly responsive - above and beyond host, nice garden, safe and warm environment.
• Anni-helena (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was pleasant and everyone was very helpful. The owner, Hadiza, wasn't unfortunately on location but was very easy to reach on WhatsApp and answered very quickly. We will definitely go there again if possible. Nothing to complain about.
• Jamal (10/5): Exceptional - We more than enjoyed ourselves at Mount Pleasant. It is one of the most enjoyable places I have ever stayed, and probably #1 out of all of them if I go back in my mind and look at all the top places I’ve been. Mount Pleasant is absolutely a little oasis in the desert. I enjoyed all the greeneries. How they were layed out gave us a lot of privacy and the quietness we experienced was beyond comforting. How the villa was layed out with 2 bathroom for the 1 bedroom for guess made it so homely. The place was designed as if it came out of Homes & Gardening magazine. This place would be my number 1 pick again if I rented again in the Gambia. For the amount we where charge per night, one gets more value for their money than they expect. The hospitality we received was above and beyond…1st class. Thank you for everything Honestly there is nothing I can say I didn’t like about Mount Pleasant. Everything was enjoyable about it.

• Manuela (10/5): Very good! I would go back to stay here as I felt like home. - The balcony/porche overseeing the lovely garden. It was very nice waking up listening the birds singing. It's a very beautiful peaceful place and Hadiza the owner is lovely. Always willing to help you out in anything you need. You have your own kitchen in the apartment but there is also a common kitchen that she gave me the key in case I needed something else. The location is very good (10 min walk from the main road and 15 min walk from the beach) safe and family environment friendly. There is a primary school near by and 2 local shops. Nothing, everything was perfect 😊
• Mariama (10/5): Absolutely incredible🥰 - The apartment was absolutely lovely! and perfect for me and my son🥰 it was like a dream waking up every day, surrounded by the beautiful greenery in the garden, and the lovely dog. Mount pleasant is a place I would recommend full heartedly. It’s supposed all my expectations. The owner of the place was always available to get in contact with. And two workers available for any kind of things that we needed help with. The locals are lovely and always ready for a little chat and laughter. Thank you for this time. I’ll see you guys in two years.
