- Tudor (10/5): Brilliant - This was my fifth stay at Orestone Manor, and I’m pleased to report that standards remain as high as ever. It’s a well-appointed, family-run hotel in a truly stunning location, overlooking Labrador Bay — a view that never loses its magic.
The team run a tight and thoughtful ship, with warm, attentive service that makes you feel genuinely welcome. The rooms are spotless, characterful, and comfortably furnished — cared for with pride and attention to detail.
The Bay Restaurant continues to impress, offering food of a very high standard. Every meal was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a menu that balances creativity and classic charm. It’s a real asset to the hotel and a draw in its own right.
The residents’ breakfast is excellent value at £10 — generous, freshly prepared, and served with the same care as dinner. A fine start to the day, whether you’re off exploring the coast or simply taking in the view.
Orestone Manor remains a firm favourite. For anyone seeking comfort, quality, and a touch of timeless English hospitality in a breathtaking setting, it’s hard to beat. I’ll be back again, no doubt. Nothing

- Charlotte (10/5): Absolutely wonderful, we would love to come back and highly recommend to anyone! - Beautiful hotel and staff were extremely polite and professional N/A
- John (9/5): Expensive - Very nice stay but got very expensive Paying £300 for a meal for two plus £70 for wine and then they ask for a £4 supplement for the cheese board ,
It ended up costing us over £800 for two nights, very greedy people
- Elise (10/5): great way to ring in the New Year. - We stayed here for New Year’s Eve and had the most amazing time. The coach house was perfect, and we absolutely loved having our own hot tub such a special touch and a great way to ring in the New Year. The staff were incredible from start to finish, so friendly and helpful, and really made us feel welcome. The fireworks were absolutely awesome and made the night feel extra special. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate one of the best stays we’ve had and memories we’ll cherish. Highly recommend!
- Jeremy (10/5): -
- Neil (9/5): - Great room Awkward turning into hotel...but we got there
- Heather (9/5): Very enjoyable, friendly staff and excellent food. - Breakfast was good, freshly cooked and plentiful. The dinners were excellent really enjoyed the venison. On a level with any of the Michel star restaurants we have visited. We will again, for the food! Room ceiling! Also head board.

- Rodgers (9/5): Pleasant experience and a beautfil part of Devon, work seemed like a holiday .. - Room, view, breakfast, staff. Journey through lanes at night to get there ( following sat nav. ) No gym...

- STEPHEN (10/5): Fantastic hotel and staff with an outstanding restaurant! - A real ‘at home ‘ feeling. Excellent staff and service. Notice in bathroom telling me the toiletries could be purchased and
what would happen if I took them (my card would be charged)- made me feel as though I was being given an unnecessary warning. Likewise about making sure the shower curtain was inside the bath when showering otherwise water would pool on floor and seep through to room below. I feel this is unnecessary - shower curtain is outdated and should be replaced with a good quality bath screen and the floor should be adequately sealed then the problem would not arise and the ‘warning’ would not be necessary.
- Neil (10/5): Great find! - A Great find! Comfortable room and lounge, friendly helpful staff and quiet location.
- Shelley (10/5): - Everything a bit out orestone manor is superb clean comfortable and the whole setting lovely home from home friend had a wedding party here and it was lovely as loads of different areas to relax in and food was good all the staff are friendly and so relaxed Nothing
- Tom (9/5): We had a very enjoyable stay. - Food was delicious and all the staff were very efficient and caring. Room comfortable although a 5ft "topping" on a 4ft6in base bed was not so comfy and not what we expected!!
- Helen (8/5): Comfortable but not quite as spacious as we had hoped. - Lounge areas and bar comfortable and friendly staff. room very small and bed not very comfortable too soft. Breakfast smoked streaky bacon not to my partners taste and mushrooms lacking flavour.
- Trudi (10/5): - Excellent dinner, lovely location and great hosts
- Darren (10/5): -

- Joandmatt (9/5): Surprise rebooking, better than the original! - The hotel was beautiful and the staff very friendly, the room was pleasant with a decent size en suite bathroom, very good location for travelling round Devon - absolutely met our needs - there is a walk down to a beach also - the hill IS very steep as they suggest haha! Quite a lot of stairs which some people might not like - other than that, it was great

- alicia (10/5): Excellent break in a beautiful and friendly place - In a beautiful location. The Manor is very tastefully decorated. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The staff are great and very helpful.
- Jade (9/5): All good except 1thing - Everything was lovely ,the room large and spacious. Roast dinner was the best we ever had! Super clean everywhere. Great location I didn't like the receptionist bursting in our room when we had the do not disturb sign on . She could have knocked and waited till we answered because she had just seen us settling up at reception and knew we were in the room . Felt like she was trying to catch us out doing something wrong or something we weren't supposed to do ( which wasn't the case ) . Good thing we weren't having "alone time " or changing . Felt like invasion of privacy when she could have knocked and waited for a response . Either way bursting in like that didn't feel good 😕
- Duncan (9/5): -
- Zoe (8/5): Pleasant stay in a lovely quiet location.... - The room and ensuite bathroom were very big and we had a beautiful view of the garden & sea in the distance.
We didn't have breakfast included in the price, but we decided to have it on two of the mornings and for the extra £10 per head it was great value and very good. We thought the idea of having a fridge on the landing with bottles of water was a really nice touch.
- Christopher (10/5): The room upgrade was just perfect and gave us such a wonderful stay. Excellent staff and food and se - Liked absolutely everything. The most wonderful room and view. Fantastic restaurant and food and service. Great receptionist - so helpful. Wonderful 5am walk down the the cove to see the sunrise. Thank you for a fantastic stay (May time) Nothing. - Aimee (7/5): Very comfortable with friendly staff - Extremely comfy beds with lovely soft linen The furnishings are a bit dated but you could say it’s part of the charm!
- Jemma (8/5): Lovely stay - Our suite was amazing The breakfast wasn’t great. The hot tub blew out lots of dirty water and scum when switched on initially.
- Anna (8/5): - This was a lovely little boutique hotel with THE best breakfast going. Delicious full English and continental brekkie. Lovely comfortable rooms. Highly rated. It was a little pricey but it’s expected for Devon at this time of year.
- Zsolt (7/5): -
- Georg (8/5): -
- Keith (8/5): Very good - The hotel was very clean. The staff were very friendly. Lovely views. Quite a small hotel which is nice It is a little bit rigid. You have to book a time slot for breakfast & you couldn't eat out on the terrace

- Lucy (9/5): Beautiful building and views with dedicated, excellent staff. A wonderful second stay, thank you. - Staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. Couldn’t have been more helpful from helping carry things such as drinks (I use a crutch) to even writing down the name of the delicious prunes served at breakfast (I hadn’t asked for this but had commented on how good they were and the staff member took it upon herself to give me the name which I thought was very kind and considerate) Beautiful furnishings inside and fantastic views and gardens outside. Staff care was outstanding. Nothing, it was all excellent.
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -

- Deirdre (8/5): Classic English country house stay. - Lovely breakfast with hot options cooked to order. Food on the Set price dinner menu was excellent quality, and wait staff were fantastic.

- Martin (8/5): Very good - It was nice and clean and good value at short notice The bed wasn't that comfortable it was abit hard for me but that's my thoughts. - Cath (10/5): Exceptional -
- Belinda (9/5): Excellent 2nd stay at this hotel - This hotel has great sea views. Its in a tucked away postion away from busy Torquay. We feel its excellent value for money. Our room was large and beautifully furnished with a balcony. The Bathroom was also large with a freestanding bath and great separate shower. Breakfast was buffet style with hot dishes cooked to order. We had dinner in the smaller restaurant section overlooking a terrace and gardens with lovely sea views. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent using high quality ingredients and service was attentive with staff being very knowledgeable about dishes and wines. There is a small free car park for guests.
