- Jayne (2/5): very poor and i wouldnt stay there again like it is now - not alot The fact I had to ask for more milk for the room and the heating to be put on, when it was on the radiator only got warm at the bottom and we were cold all night(November). Maintenance should be checking the rooms and making sure radiators work correctly. Very tight on giving out the little milk containers for drinks in room, as when we got there, there was only 2 milks and 2 coffee sachets.
- Jana (8/5): - Nettes Personal, nahe dem Fährhafen Etwas altbacksch eingerichtet

- Sian (8/5): - Great hotel in Lochmaddy, convenient for the ferry terminal and as a base to explore the islands. Staff were very friendly and helpful with lots of local information. Lovely food in the restaurant. Good breakfasts.
- Tim (10/5): -
- Helen (4/5): Below expectations would look at alternatives in futute - Gareth was good, hardworking Our room was part of a family shared suite with excessive noise (snoring as if in same room, we were room 5) coming through the shared door
Blocked, dirty, foul shower plug hole

- Anne-Sofie (8/5): -
- Jean (9/5): Most enjoyable facilities, staff etc. -
- Mary (5/5): Not sure we'd stay again, little issues need sorting out. - The Hotel was clean with modern décor, staff were friendly and chatty, room was well presented. We didn't wait long for meals. The new carpet prevented the door opening properly so I had to put my shoulder to it. Bathroom was VERY small and the extractor fan didn't work so after a shower it was like a sauna. The room was very hot at night even with the window open,-sauna bathroom didn't help. Housekeeping was erratic; bed only partly made up after one night and left the other two, (I did it myself to be helpful) tap and sink not cleaned properly nor was the shelf above the sink. We had to ask for towels on the third day as none had been left in our room. £15 per hour for snooker table a tad expensive.
- Adrian (8/5): - - Sehr freundliches Personal
- Gutes Essen
- Schöne Lage
- Allgemeine sehr entspannt und ruhig - Wasserdruck der Dusche ist zu tief
- Abfluss in der Badewanne war verstopft

- Steve (8/5): - Friendly staff. Nice snooker table. Overcharged by £97.50.. Awaiting refund..

- Frederick (9/5): A great place to visit and a good place to stay. - We booked two rooms as we were traveling with a friend. Both were spacious and had comfortable beds and a view of the town. Breakfast options were varied and generous. Staff worked hard and were great. The area is very quiet. Very convenient for the morning ferry. Internal walls are paper thin. Our first night was great as everyone around us was sensitive and quiet - no late conversations and no telly. Our second night was an early one as we had the morning ferry. As we got into bed, the people next door turned on a sporting event at what I’m sure they thought was a low volume, but which was loud right through the wall between the rooms. Fortunately the hotel staff was willing to ask them to turn it down and they complied. If you stay here, leave the Telly off or use mute and captions.
- Emma (4/5): Disappointing - Lovely staff Really expensive for very basic accommodation and mediocre food.
- Tobin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marion (9/5): Superb - We had a fabulous break accomodstiom was excellent Modern clean and comfortable
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable friendly hotel with a modern freshness. Very comfortable rooms and great restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
- Catherine (8/5): Lovely hotel, with amazing staff - The hotel is perfectly located to get on the ferry. The food was lovely tasty and good quality.
The best part of the hotel was the bar tender/waiter, he worked so hard, was so cheerful, helpful and funny - definitely the best part of the hotel. We had a early ferry booking and there was no possibility of breakfast at the hotel, they own the other hotel next to the ferry and it would have been kind if residents could have had their breakfast booked there.
- Béatrice (10/5): Perfect , cosy retreat for a few days. - Great location, close to the water and to the ferry. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they have an excellent chef. Breakfasts and diners were delicious. The water temperature of the shower was very difficult to adjust.
- Gary (9/5): Excellent stay with great staff - The staff were exceptional - they made us feel very welcome, helpful with local knowledge and cheerful. Nothing, we really enjoyed our stay
- Penny (10/5): Fabulous hospitality - The staff were amazing.
We arrived soaking wet with our bikes and they allowed us to use their drying room to dry our gear.
Food was amazing and so was their photography.
- Kirstie (10/5): Excellent stay and breakfast. - Best place and proper sized bed we stayed in while in Scotland.
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (10/5): One of the best we have stayed in - V clean spacious rooms, lovely food , comfy bed , can't fault anything at all. Great location near ferry terminal. And quiet at night. Simon the manager, was very helpful, cleanliness througout was excellent. Food great. Would highly recommend this hotel. Nothing, all great
- Harriet (9/5): Will be back 😊 thank you - Lovely position, short walk down to the water and well placed for the ferry terminal. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. The room was spacious and airy - there was everything one needed to be comfortable. Thank you
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Val (9/5): Superb -
- Edna (8/5): Very good -
- Lucinda (8/5): Comfortable place to stay - Very welcoming staff, comfortable room and fantastic breakfast All good but evening meal menu a little restricted
- Elliott (9/5): Superb -
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional - Had a wonderful 2 night stay highly recommend. Staff friendly and helpful . Rooms clean and comfortable . Food very good and freshly prepared . Tv reception poor at times
- Robert (8/5): A very good place to stay on the Uists if you want comfortable and good food, drink. - Staff are very good and helpful, informative, chef excellent and the food was very, very good considering it was quite quiet. Rooms are nice, hotel very clean with good room for paring and very close to ferry terminal. Beer and wine choice good and coffee excellent. Happy to make a packed lunch for you. Bathroom was dark, one light not working and a bit cramped. Shower is in bath. Need to get a better cleaning product for downstairs floors as it can be sticky on the wood/laminate.
- Agnieszka (9/5): Superb - Nice hotel and facilities, nice friendly staff. Food was good as well As we had to leave before breakfast was served on sun morning, no alternative or refund was offered
- Deborah (9/5): Handy for the ferry - Very handy location when getting off the ferry. Gareth and Simon were very helpful and engaging
- Nikki (10/5): An all round comfortable and exceptional stay - From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly and enthusiastically by Simon at the front desk, who honestly made this stay go from excellent to absolutely superb. He was extremely helpful with giving us ideas of where to visit on the island and how to get there, and where we could get some dinner, completely unprompted. All the staff I spoke with during our stay were wonderful and a credit to the hotel.
The room was a great size, clean and comfortable, the wifi was good and the pancakes at breakfast hit the spot perfectly.
A lovely little village, not near much but perfect for a quiet nights stay whilst exploring Uist.
- Christine (9/5): Superb - Contemporary but still warm and cosy.
- Fiona (9/5): Great - Excellent rooms, great food The view
- Lucy (10/5): A really lovely hotel, a stone’s throw away from the port. - It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Nothing.
- John (7/5): Good overnight stay option - A comfortable modern hotel in an area with few such amenities. Dinner menu a bit limited, especially as too many of the items on the menu were not available.
- Kevin (10/5): Lovely stay. - A great hotel, nice and close to the ferry terminal. A lovely, friendly welcome. The hotel is immaculate and everythingis beautifully presented. The room was a great size with good ensuite facilities. We had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast and the waiting staff were happy and friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Ellen (8/5): Very good -
- Brigid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (9/5): Really comfortable high quality accommodation - Great host, liked the bar in the evening and the breakfast was delicious. Bar couldve stayed open a little later
- Lee (9/5): Comfortable and Enjoyable Stay - We have stayed at 3 other hotels in the western isles, and I would rate the Hamersay to be the best so far. Out in the Isles, the hotels tend to be older, historical buildings, which naturally are a struggle to maintain to 4 star standards, especially given the economy of the region and the short revenue season. Most I would rate as equivalent to nice motel offerings jn the US if looked at only for the infrastructure. What sets them apart and makes them very good to wonderful is the atmosphere and especially the personal contacts and relationships with the proprietors and staffs. That being said, the Hamersay proved to be the exception, a rank or two higher than the other hotels we have enjoyed. The room was very comfortable and the dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff was very welcoming. Although the heat was not on at the radiator, the room was a little warm for sleeping as the window only open a few inches at the bottom. It got nice and cool when a strong breeze came up overnight!
- Jenny (8/5): Friendly staff and great food - Staff were amazing! Couldn’t do enough to assist Heating in our bedroom didn’t seem to work properly.
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - 10/10 Staff great food.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- John (5/5): Passable -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pat (8/5): Convenient location for the ferry. - Breakfast was excellent. Good variety. Internet was very spotty and unreliable which hindered my work.
- Jondi (7/5): Very satisfactory but could have been better - Location Lacked atmosphere and soul
- Guy (8/5): Would definitely use again - Comfortable, helpful staff, superb breakfast Rooms a little dated for the price
- Penny (8/5): An excellent stay. - The property was lovely and clean and the staff were really great. The bathroom was uncomfortably cramped.
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Pleasant and comfortable surroundings for a three-night stay. - The staff were pleasant, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. The room was well-equipped and spacious. The breakfasts were enormous and varied. Signage to the hotel is great -- we had no problem finding it, and the convenience to the ferry dock helped us to catch an early boat. Adding a lift to the second floor would be costly, no doubt, and it would have improved our stay! The dinners seemed a bit overpriced for the amounts of food we got.
- George (10/5): Perfect - Perfect friendly and with great food.
- Jane (9/5): Great service and friendly staff. - We booked the hotel at the very last minute due to poor weather on the Island during our camping trip.
The staff were ready for us as soon as we got there and were really helpful.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
