- Sumaya (7/5): - The beautiful surroundings where the property was located.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms that we were allocated was very spacious. The breakfast was good.
- Fowzia (10/5): I enjoyed our wonderful time at Portside Manor! Claudia was an absolute gem and really made our stay wonderful. She went - It’s a beautiful estate!

- Debra Anne le Roux (9/5): Fantastic relaxing getaway with lots to do in the surrounding areas when we wanted to. - Perfect getaway, you can be as busy as you want to be as there's lots to do in the surrounding areas, and you get to come back and enjoy the tranquility and beautiful scenery at Portland Manor. We took walks and went for MTB rides from the estate as we'd bought our bicycles with. We did the Power Van from George and the 7 passes drive which were very scenic and relaxing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The meals were great, we spoilt ourselves with a scrumptious anniversary dinner in the manor house which is a must. There are plenty of places to eat in the surrounding areas as well whilst exploring. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Monnica (9/5): Rustig, gezellig en comfortabel, erg schoon! - Heerlijk rustig, mooie grote en gezellige kamer. Goede douche, en fijn bedlinnen. Incl. heerlijk ontbijt.

- Nhlabathi (8/5): - The staff was really friendly and easy to talk to.
We were received very well and the room was spectacular with an amazing view.
I liked that there was so much to do on the property, like swimming, hiking, skiing, massages, etc. The only thing I didn't like was the making up of the room. We were there for 3 nights but the bedding was never changed and was poorly made. The cleaner removed the dustbin and never returned it.

- Boitumelo (10/5): Had some nice quite time there - Great place to spend some quiet time Everything especially the staff so friendly and willing to go an extra mile
- Neelan (10/5): - Monique was an excellent host
- Deric (10/5): - Such amazing staff all friendly and very welcoming had a great experience through out our stay will definitely recommend to friends and family Food is tops, beautiful view and spot on with the decor
- pamela (8/5): Lovely period stay - The property is a beautiful antique British type vibe which was interestingly a nice break from my usual modern style. The receptionist Monique is integral to the place she was absolutely amazing. Also loved the log fire nice touch The breakfast could be better. The presentation of the “buffet” could do with sprucing and having pastry option for those with a nut allergy would help and widening the options a little more
- Faith (10/5): - Rooms comfortable and spacious staff friendly, appearance of the venue good. Nothing, just directions need to be clear from the main road. But they made an effort to come and assist us while we were getting lost.
- Yuvir (10/5): The most attentive and friendly staff you will ever meet. - Very neat and well kept
- Runganathan (10/5): Great holiday in the wild - The outstanding location in the wild.
The exceptional staff.
The activities included in the price. WiFi was fluctuating
- Allard (10/5): -
- Yvette (10/5): A space for families looking to unplug and reconnect - The space was beautiful...
exquisite interiors that mirrored the surrounding natural beauty. I loved that the children were happily occupied with so many activities, all thoughtfully contained and safely managed. It felt like staying at a luxury resort, but with genuine warmth, familiarity, and the sense of being treated like part of the family. There was nothing to not like!
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect family stay at a farm - Exceptional service from the staff. 10/10
So many activities to do on the farm, you won't even need to go anywhere else. Loved it The bathrooms have a funky smell. Could be from the water they use.
- andrew (10/5): remote, quiet and peaceful - Good breakfast, very large room, good evening meal very spacious grounds with superb pool area.
loved the colonial aspects.Staff very helpful

- Mounir (10/5): -
- glenda (5/5): - I liked the location and the remote manor in the middle of nowhere I did not enjoy that the tv never worked the first night, as myself and my hubby where going to do a movie night.
I showered in fat that came up the shower drain, my feet were covered, I. Could hardly get myself out of the shower with flip flops on , the shower drain was blocked had a really bad bad smell and was only rectified the next day, and the next evening was a very similar experience but not as bad, the water kept pushing up. The bathroom was not a good experience theirs a little glass triangle in the bathroom expected to put onces toothpaste and toiletries but the space is so small it only really provides space for one person.
We were compensated with a bottle of bubbly of R140 and that was it.
I would definitely not stay there again.
- Sasha (10/5): -
- Brandon (1/5): - They were not aware of our booking when we got there.
The shower and bath facilities was extremely bad.
The Tv in our room could not connect to the wifi, so we couldn’t watch anything the whole evening.
Not recommended at all.
- Gert (10/5): Peaceful and beautiful environment. - Everything was fabulous! Booking problem caused by Nightsbridge (problem between Booking.com and Nightsbridge).

- Wynand Baard (8/5): Very nice, away from town's noise, excellent location on the farm. - History of the place and the manor house. Lovely farm where we could go running, and cycling in the woods and mountains nearby. Breakfast was awesome. There was an empty room next to our room where other guests were doing prayers 21:30 at night. They were very load and it went on for some time; kept us awake when we were trying to sleep. I suggest having a prayer facility away from guest rooms.

- Chanelle (9/5): Beautiful countryside stay - Exceptional service from the staff and a really beautiful place to unplug from the city life. The host was always ready to assist and the communication was smooth and constant since before I arrived at the property. I was on a business trip but I look forward to visiting for a vacation and doing all the activities the property has to offer. Nothing

- Antolique (10/5): - The staff was super helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Check-in and Check-out was very easy. The property left us in awe, what a beautiful rich history! Honestly not a single thing. Everything was perfect!
- Eduan (10/5): Far exceeded my expectations, plan to return but stay a few nights longer. - I chose Portland Manor as I was doing a trailrun the next morning and the start was nearby. However, Portland Manor far exceeded my expectations and God willing I WILL be back to simply stay a few nights, go for hikes, cycling, sitting by the dam and just savouring the sublime peacefulness, sipping coffee or wine and just … being there. Honestly, it is a bit out of the way and believe me, definitely worth it.
Claudia was also kind enough to pack me a breakfast which I could take with and enjoy before the run started. Much appreciated, and the nuts were especially a thoughtful touch. Thank you! Leaving. I didn’t like leaving.
- Dave (9/5): It’s really worth a visit and stay. Highly recommended - Location is great and we were able to use it as a base for exploring the Sedgefield area. We had wonderful breakfasts and dinner at the Manor every day. The staff were fabulous. Nothing really.

- Werner (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jerry (8/5): Beautiful place, comfortable beds, lovely pool area - just amazing -
- Sonia (8/5): Tranquility - It takes you back in time and is the right place to stay if you are wanting an escape from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s absolutely amazing. The bathrooms need some updating. Whist the owners are trying to maintain the original feel I do believe that the bathrooms can be updated.
- Garth (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful setting. Great staff. Highly recommended
- Danny (10/5): Excellent - It's not often you come across a 10/10 property but this was absolutely it. I couldn't believe the value for money, what a hidden gem. This is a must stay if you're doing the Garden route!
Staff on arrival were fantastic, ensuring I pre-booked my meal so I wouldn't miss out on Christmas day. The views were out of this world and the pool area was gorgeous. The grounds, the lake, the cow barn (restaurant) were excellent. Very tastefully decorated. The one issue was when I checked out there wasn't a member of staff on reception. I left my key and got on my way. 25 minutes down the road I got a text to say I had forgotten to pay for my meal. Being from another country, an EFT was not possible without incurring a lot of charges. So I had to drive all the way back, taking an hour out of my day and scuppering my plans. Really, staff should be on the desk during check out hours.
- David (6/5): The pool was wonderful and clean. The property is beautiful and the garden is well maintained. - The breakfast was rather average. The service was very poor, only one waiter in the two days we had breakfast. The breakfast buffet definitely needs an upgrade. In the heat, the cheeses are on a wooden board without a cover and swetting. The bread is homemade but it gets dry lying on a wooden board. It needs a bread cover as well. There are flies and they do not have a shoo away for the fruit, bread, cheese, olives etc.
Our company BUFFET-WORLD would gladly assist the manager to upgrade the buffet with different heights and colour. The chaffing dishes also look rather tired. Hope this criticism helps the owners, which will be for the better. We did not like the fact that the hotel entrance was a good ten minutes away from the main road. There are speed bumps all the way to the hotel. Even though we were driving 10km in the property, we sadly had a blowout on our run flat tyre at 8pm. We were fortunate to have gone to a garage nearby to bump into the police and assisted us on a Sunday evening. They managed to get the incredible Supa Quick in Knysna, to open there doors at 9:30pm and assist us with their last run flat tyre! Excellent service and so efficient!
- Monique (7/5): Good - Beautiful country setting. Lovely pool and dam. Lots of flies (given the location of a farm) during meal times.
- Midzi (9/5): Great place to stay at. Rooms are spacious and well equipped with a great dam view - The rooms are well equipped and spacious The restaurant can be cleaner and have fly traps
- Sandy (8/5): Very good -

- Justine (9/5): Beautiful Farm Stay - The pool and views are beautiful.
- De (8/5): Very good - The farmstay and activities The bathroom needed TLC.
- Amanda (9/5): Good value for money Manor stay - That it far away from the road and town, but close enough to knysna to take a drive there They were doing maintenance on the grounds during my stay, so unfortunately there was non stop noise for three days which spoilt the experience and rest.
