- Peter (9/5): Good hotel at a sensible price. Good breakfast. - I have been going there for 22 years. I am familiar with it and so know what to expect.
I think the breakfast has improved a lot.
The mattresses are now more confortable. Polish pillows instead of Western European/US style. It’s a personal preference for more substantial pillows.
I don’t like the way that all the guests are given adjacent rooms when the hotel is not full. The sound insulation is not great and spreading guests out across the hotel, when it is not busy, would be sensible for good sleep and privacy. Being near the reception means that all human traffic passes your door like loud noisy elephants.
This hotel could be a 9.0 on Booking.com and not 8.0 with some modest thought about room allocations. Keeping families away from couples and solo guests for example, would be a start.

- Anna (7/5): Wolsztyn - the place to experience the Steam Train! - The breakfast was a nice choice from the buffet. We had all our evening meals there because the food was excellent as was the service. Great hospitality.
Showers in the room were brilliant!
Not far to walk to the station and catch the steam train to and from Zbąszynek, which was running once a day from Monday to Friday while we were there. Also the day we left we caught the steam train to Poznań, which ran only on Saturdays. Fabulous experience! I didn't like the size of the room and the fact the double bed was right next to the wall. The mattress wasn't comfortable for me. The bathroom shower was brilliant though, which made up for things.
- Thomas (7/5): Clean, comfortable and convenient - Conveniently located near Wolsztyn railway station. Basic but clean and comfortable rooms, staff were friendly and were able to communicate with me in better English than my Polish! No major problems, nothing that ruined our stay. Water pressure in the shower could be slightly better and a curfew on noise would be appreciated as there was loud music somewhere in the hotel playing very late into the night one evening.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Artur (1/5): Bad - 10 minutes after check in we were told that we had to vacate our room because our dog Max weighed more than 10kg! In all my travels around Europe with a dog this has never happened to us before ie. that we were turned away on arrival. This was after our booking being made in good faith in advance and accepted by the hotel. We were told that we would need to make other arrangements. On the booking.com website it was stated that dogs were welcome and there was nothing about size, weight, breed or colour. Cannot say much about the hotel other than that the room was tiny-not enough room to swing a cat, although cats are probably also banned.
- Remigijus (6/5): Pleasant -
- Martyn (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed here many times close to Station.Nice clean Hotel. No probs with this Hotel.
- Martin (9/5): Convenient and clean. Food good. - Great location for station and town.
Good breakfast.
Spacious room with good facilities and clean.
- 526666 (8/5): Very pleasant place to stay in Wolsztyn, handy for the railway station. - Wolsztyn is world famous for its steam locomotive hauled train services which even in 2023 are just about still hanging on (with the odd week off for routine maintenance) the Kaukaska has been my handy place to stay for a few years now. Located just a few minutes short walk from the railway station and the town this is a handy well presented hotel with decent rooms. I've stayed a few times but this is the first time I have been able to book through Booking.com .Comfortable beds, complementary water, desk, chair etc (varies by the size of room). Small bathroom with decent shower. I've been in winter and it was very cosy. There is a decent restaurant/bar which I like to use, not a huge vegetarian or vegan choice but what there is is good. Polish wines are very tasty. There are no in room drink making facilities but the reception will happily provide hot water on request. Breakfast is nothing fancy but its good old Polish style, not great for vegans but still won't starve (if you are catching a steam hauled service early in the morning in my experience they are happy to provide a packed breakfast if asked the day before). I always struggle with the Wifi signal in the rooms, elsewhere in the hotel its fine and excellent in the bar which is a good excuse for working from there.
- Martin (10/5): Great place to stay - Good location. Nice hotel. Nothing.
- Elżbieta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iain (9/5): Perfect 3 star hotel - Very good, basic Three Star hotel. Helpful staff, clean and comfortable room. Very reasonably priced. Good location 5 minutes walk from town. No lounge or bar (although restaurant 8-22h)
- Dave (7/5): Pleasant small hotel on the edge of town - The hotel was nice and comfortable on the edge of town. The price was fair and breakfasts were good.
