• Chris (5/5): Disappointing accommodation in such a lovely location - A great location . Very tired hotel in need of significant updating.Breakfast was not very good and not good value for money.Pictures of property nothing like the reality of the state of the building.
• Robin (8/5): It’s very peaceful and the owner is very helpful - The location is very good. The owner is friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. It’s truly peaceful. The people on Iriomote island are relaxed and friendly. It is remote and you really need a hire car. The dinner portions could be a little larger. The rooms could be updated a bit more (however they are fine for the style & location of trip).

• onodera (10/5): - 友人の紹介で利用。 とても親切な方々でひとり旅の不安は一切なし。 今回は、星を観る目的もありこの宿にしたが、建物屋上にハンモックがあり、夜中何度も通って存分に星を眺めることができた。オーナーから天の川を観ることができると教えてもらい流れ星とともに実際に観れた。 夕食付きではなかったが、チェックインの時に夕飯を食べることと時間を伝え、時間になったら食堂へ行きいろいろあるメニューから選べる。どれも丁寧に作られたもので美味。 朝食は、コーヒーがアイスもホットもあり。牛乳があったのでカフェラテがいただけてとても嬉しかった。 立地含め申し分のない宿。この島に来るときは必ずお世話になろうと決めている。 Wi-Fiがつながりにくいこと。とはいえ、西表島では電波がつながりにくく電話も聞き取りにくいこともあり。想定内。 このことはまだこちらが気付かないうちにスタッフさんが教えてくれた。その上でフロントだと繋がりやすいとアドバイスもらえたので、不安はなかった。

• Kazutoshi (10/5): 日常を忘れて心から癒される旅 - 海に面した家族経営のプチホテルです。ロケーションは素晴らしく、オーナーやスタッフの温かい笑顔にいつも癒されます。お食事は素朴ながらどれも美味しく、心がほっとする味わいです。 大規模なリゾートホテルのように人工的ではなく、手付かずの自然に囲まれていて、他のお客さまと顔を合わせることもほとんどありません。そのため、静かにゆったりと過ごしたい私たちには最適な場所です。 夫婦で今回が3回目の利用でしたが、「毎年一度は必ず訪れよう」と決めています。 星空や沈む夕日、海に浮かびながら見上げる大空――雄大な自然の中にいると、「自分の悩みなんて本当にちっぽけだな」と感じさせられます。 ぜひ一度、訪れてみてください。 ありません。

• Mariko (9/5): 思った以上にとても素敵で良かった。次は、連泊してゆっくり過ごしてみたいと思った。 - アットホームな感じで、皆さんの対応がとても感じよかった。食事も美味しかった。最新のリゾートホテルでは得られない、温かい時間を過ごせた。ビーチも近くて星もきれいで最高だった。 施設は新しいわけではない。が、清潔感があるのでそこは大目にみたい。
• Ka13 (10/5): 忘れられない思い出 - ビーチにすぐ出て散歩したり泳いだり、夜は星空を眺めたり、朝も夜もとても美味しいお食事をいただきました。 オーナーさん、従業員さんたちのおもてなしがとても優しかったです。連泊しましたが、タオルやアメニティを補充してくださいました。 たまたまかもしれませんが近くで民謡を演奏しているグループがあったようで、夕方その調べを聞きながら過ごす時間も忘れがたいです。

• Robert (10/5): Deeply Relaxing Wonderful Hotel in Stunning Nature - This is a charming and wonderful little hotel in the middle of a stunning natural beach teeming with nature and wildlife. Breakfast is a delicious Japanese set meal that varies slightly daily, and the hotel will do delicious home cooked set meal dinners if you order by 5 pm (strongly recommended). The beautiful natural beach and bay it’s on has spectacular sunsets and you can see fish bats birds and an incredible array of crabs. The folks that run it are incredibly kind and helpful. You are in the middle of nowhere in the best possible sense, so bring a good book, camera, and binoculars and prepare to deeply relax。 The beach is very shallow at low tide but swimmable at high. Due to its very remote idyllic location don’t expect super high speed wifi or public transport infrastructure, a rental car is best. But it’s so worth it, incredible place.

Kimiko drove us to lunch, then to the harbour so we could go on a boat trip. Yuji drove us to the ferry terminal. The exterior building was shabby and could do with a paint job. The outside railing was rusted through.

• Vladimir (10/5): Wonderful hotel & staff in a secluded location on the beach & jungle! - Friendly staff especially Yuji! He was very helpful finding bookings that would pick us up from the hotel as public transit on the island is sparse and actually responded to messages beforehand. The beach was wonderful, calm water and the hotel had snorkel gear to use. I liked seeing all the fish near the small islands in the lagoon. Very secluded, could see stars and galaxies on the roof of the hotel when the sky was clear. Breakfast was delicious and a few restaurants within a 15 minute walk along with a grocery store. Really enjoyed the ramen & curry restaurants. Rooms were big for Japan or normal for western standards. Had nothing short of a wonderful time.

I’m very grateful to the staff and the beautiful, quiet setting is very very nice. I would have preferred a couple of tables and chairs on the roof, even if there was a cut off time. It’s a beautiful rooftop view. I also would have liked the option of borrowing an umbrella and a chair for the beach. Maybe a deposit. I do like that the beach doesn’t have these things too, so I feel torn. But a lounge chair at least would have been nice.
• Alessandro (10/5): Wonderful place immersed in nature - The owner and staff were the kindest people! The hotel has all one needs, with a wonderful breakfast included. It was super clean, we had an amazing view of the sea from the room and could simply step out onto the beach as it’s right there in front of the water. At night the the rooftop terrace is perfect for star gazing. The location is great, inside a very small town immersed in nature. Someone told us this was “deep Iriomote” - and we now love deep Iriomote! We only stayed 1 night but we wish we could have stayed longer!

• Kinneret (10/5): Don’t miss this hotel - Perfect place to stay. The owner, his wife and the rest of the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful. The food is great. We had a wonderful time.

• Hare (9/5): Perfect choice of hotel in an idyllic location - The English speaking owner was very friendly and helpful and being a native of Iriomote was very knowledgeable. Hoshitate is a tranquil location with a photogenic beach. There are some rock outcrops close to shore that are wonderful to snorkel and full of reef fish including a family of clown fish … yes I found Nemo! The Hoshitate steak was memorable. if you are there at the right time the owner will take you to see the fire flys.

• Lindsay (10/5): Absolutely fantastic hosts and lovely hotel on the beach - can't recommend enough! - The couple who manage the hotel are absolutely delightful and made my trip so special! They really go out of their way to help you and make sure you're comfortable. Rooms are standard but comfortable and have a great view of the sea. The beach right in the front of the hotel is lovely and so private and quiet. The food is lovely and a great price. On the last night I had some issues sleeping as the water pump was very loud - hopefully this has been fixed.

• Thomas (7/5): Gorgeous view, gracious hosts, solid 2 1/2 star hotel - Look past your first view of the back of the hotel, which badly needs a coat of paint, and the cluttered lobby. The hotel has a fabulous view of the ocean, and easy beach access. Staff are helpful and accommodating - you can ask them to make reservations at the wonderful Ishitaki restaurant, which even offers free transportation! Hotel breakfast and dinner are very good - massive Japanese breakfast. No lift but they were quick to offer help with luggage.

• Scott (9/5): Superb - The staff was very friendly, and communication was relatively seamless. Dinner and breakfast were both really tasty, and not too much more on top of that! Room was clean, save for a bug or two but nothing to really complain about. The entrance was a touch hard to find, but not too difficult as long as you look around. Other than that, the shower water was really difficult to get a good control of, so it usually ended up far too hot or cold.

• Bruno (10/5): Paradise location - The location was paradise. The hotel was situated right on a beautiful and very quiet beach (safe for children). Bring your snorkeling gear as the water is crystal clear and you can see many colorful fishes (we saw Nemo and his family). The staff was the personnification of kindness and made our stay unforgetable. We went post-covid (summer 2022) and there was a shortage of staff but the owner made up for it with free drinks :) There was nothing bad to note but the hotel is a little bit dated and basic and could use some revamping. However the location and staff make up for it a 100%.
• Sophie (10/5): Stunning Paradise Beachfront hotel ☀️ - Absolutely stunning location!! I’m so glad I upgraded to a beach view room, gorgeous view every morning~ the breakfast (Thanks for making a British cup of tea for me!) and dinner was delicious! Beachfront was perfect, gorgeous view and plenty of sealife to spot! Chuhai in hand watching the sea was perfect. Loved sitting on the beach sea swing further down the beach! You can go on the roof to view the stars, I’ve never seen so many stars (and Milky Way!!) before~ stunning!! ⭐️ The nearby town is 10min walk and has an amazing restaurant Katagiri, I recommend the mobudofu and gyoza. Hotel owners were friendly and helpful!! Trip was cut short by a day due to typhoon and hotel owners were so helpful with everything. Wish I could have stayed longer!! Will definitely be back~ thank you so much!! Wish I could have stayed longer haha!!
