- Linda (9/5): Love to stay again . Mum and I loved it . Friendly , lovely find 🌺 - Lovely location , very helpful and friendly staff . Felt so welcome . Lovely restaurant and super food . Loved it all 🌺🎊. Thank you . Shower power poor and room TV didn’t work BUT it was not a problem and the staff dealt with the tv issue immediately. So helpful . TV still didn’t work properly but didn’t spoil our lovely night . Would want sorted if staying longer .

- Trefor (9/5): A great place to stay. - This place is superb! I was given a ground floor room overlooking the golf course. Although it was February, my room was warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable. As a disabled person, I could park my car close by. The lady on reception was delightful, welcoming and helpful. The cooked breakfast was a buffet-style affair. No cereals or fruit. The tall, young waiter just said "Help yourself!" and then vanished. A sign read 'Eggs cooked to order' but my waiter had disappeared, never to be seen again. Dirty cups and plates adorned the dining room. Not poor service. No service. He let his employers down. I complained. No wonder companies do not want to employ young people.
- Gareth (8/5): - Very good value

- Jonathan (7/5): -
- Hayley (8/5): Cosy accomodation - Always a warm welcome and the rooms are cosy The WiFi is very hit and miss, depends on the room you get (I've stayed in quite a few)
- Matt (8/5): Great value for money, in glorious surroundings, with very good staff. - Rooms are comfortable and cosy. Room was cold on arrival, however when radiator was turned up, the heat was immense! Parking near the room made it easier for packing and unpacking. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. Great value for money Wifi would not connect in room 18 for the duration of my stay. Shower, although perfectly usable wasn't the most powerful, but that isn't something that would stop me staying in future
- geert (6/5): -
- Mel (6/5): Value for the cost and was adequate for our needs - The shower hardly worked and no bath but was clean and tidy
- Claire Ginnelly (4/5): Disappointing - Location Extremely cold rooms
Shower so small
Smell of sewerage
Old and tired rooms

- Humphrey (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, really comfortable and clean. Good food. Couldn't fault anything.
- Tom (8/5): Very good - The food at the restaurant is fantastic and the staff across the hotel and restaurant are extremely fiendly and helpful.
- Hayter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leevan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prince (8/5): Very good -
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - The staff could not of been more helpful. Very comfortable room at excellent price and the food was very good in the onsite restaurant Only downside was it was a bit dark to find the lodge in the first instance from reception, but the staff were really helpful
- Allan (7/5): A great stay and perfect for a golfing break but also for business people traveling for work - Lovely location and facilities such as the golf course and driving range (not that I got to use them due to work)
Food was great with generous portion size meaning great value for money and the drinks were reasonably priced.
Room was lovely as even though I was alone their was enough space to have a double and single bed in the room, bathroom was spacious and personal care products (shampoo, conditioner, etc were great and didn't seem like the cheap versions some place supply. The walk from the restuarant / bar area to my room wasn't ideal as I don't have the best mobility (especially in cold weather) and it was a bit isolated with poorly lit access road, but other than that I can't complain about anything.
- Vitalii (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was very good. Definitely recommended.
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious clean and efficient
- Bethan (1/5): Awful - Not worth £278
November 2024
We booked Lakeside Lodge as we were planning a suprise party for a family member, thinking it would be very convenient to stay on site.........this is where it goes wrong. Would've had a better stay in the car.
Firstly, had a call to ask when we will be arriving as reception closes at 5pm. We then arrived at 2:50. After a short walk through, which looked like collage corridors, we went to reception to check in. We stayed in 'room 6'. We booked a double room. We then had to walk half way across the carpark away from the complex, to what could only be described as a pontins motel chalet.
At this point our hopes we gone. We open the rickety door with cobwebs on, to see a double bed and a single bed. At 1st glance it looked durable, to which then went down hill pretty quickly.
The bed frame was ripped, their was a stain on the carpet, the head board was breaking, dead spiders in the bathroom light, there was no blind on the bathroom window, the shower head was filthy, as we're the taps, the shower doors didn't close properly and also didnt drain properly, the kettle took about 5 minutes to boil and the walls were paper thin.
Saturday then came along, to which we went for breakfast....as we took a nice stroll along the carpark, smelling the love sewage tank located in the middle of the carpark, we then went into the empty restaurant. Their was no one to greet us, we waited for a couple minutes to then a lady coughing behind the till and also seemed like they didn't want to be there. They were quite abrupt and let us do our own thing. The condiments were on a book shelf, there were no plates, very little bread. However, on a brighter note, our breakfast was lovely. On our way out, we said thank you good bye, to which there was no reply, and also reception was closed until about 5pm.
We checked out Sunday very early and even turned away our breakfast as we couldn't stand being there any more.
- Prince (8/5): Very good -
- Rodriguez (8/5): Great venue - Great location Bathroom light didn't work.
- Gordon (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (1/5): The rooms for a wedding venue are poor. - Nothing No drinking glasses. No hairdryer . Very small room. Tv didn’t work. No lightning over dressing table. No full length mirror. Bed was awful.
- Brian (8/5): Firm mattress - Part of a golfing complex and thus with extensive grounds. Cobwebs + dead fly between shower and toilet seat.
Cold room on entry.
ill fitting shower doors allowing water to soak outside shower mat + floor
- Martin (7/5): Good -
- Georgina (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (7/5): My stay - The beautiful surroundings My radiator in room 11 keeped clicking all night like it has an air lock it started at 1am and I didn't sleep after that and had a long drive the next day
- Alistair (8/5): Very good -
- Kerry (8/5): Very good -
- Tamara (5/5): Good enough for somewhere to sleep - Cosy, beds comfy, easy to get to Far too expensive for what you get.
Amenities were basic and not a lot of space especially if there were 3 people staying.
- Alex (6/5): Great location, helpful and friendly staff, adequate rooms. - Location (quiet, peaceful, woodland surroundings, countryside), friendliness and helpfulness of staff, comprehensive cooked breakfast. Rooms were very 3* - adequate, clean, functional. Bathroom was dated and furnishings were more hostel that hotel.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (4/5): Disappointing -
- Colin (8/5): Was booked in as on a two day festival at Rookery waters, wished I had stayed the extra night instead of at Rookery - Location was perfect for me
Service was excellent good value on drinks and food
- Keith (3/5): Was our Wedding Anniversary and was very disappointed - Not a lot Size of room and small shower and toilet
< Bathroom only 18 inches wide and had to close the door to get to toilet. Shower very small and very little pressure.
Breakfast cooked and allowed to stand on a hotplate for at least 2 hours. Not at all what we expected for the price charged.
Food in Bar/ Restaurant menu not quite what we expected.
- Gavin (10/5): All in all very good - The gym & food
- Beverley (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (8/5): Good will be staying again - Nice and clean , staff friendly. Nothing was bad
- Ingrid (8/5): nice location and comfy bed - The room and bed were comfortable, staff were friendly. Lovely natural location A group of people returned to the chalets around midnight and thought they were the only ones and made a lot of noise talking. I politely asked them to pipe down and they went away. Regulars knew to order eggs e.g poached, rather than the scrambled egg, but I wasn't made aware of this.
- Michael (6/5): Ok for a one or two night stay - 25/30 mins from Huntindon or Cambridge during rush hour - Good receptionists and evening bar staff Table tops in the bar are sticky to the touch,
Eight emails from either the hotel or booking.com for a simple one night stay pre-paid online in advance without any special requests or optional extras - really!
Breakfast: asked if poached eggs were available, they were, so asked for two poached eggs on brown toast, they arrived on a plate minus the toast - the server then pointed to the toasting machine - by the time I toasted my own bread, the poached eggs were solid like boiled eggs...hmm
- Beryl (9/5): We came to a party celebration and everything went perfectly from start to finish. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at lakeside lodge the location was superb and the food was excellent. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
- John (4/5): I am not sure why this premise has a 4* rating. - The staff were friendly and courteous. Facilities to watch the England game were good. Inadequate water pressure in shower.
No convenient shelves in shower.
Shower door hinged on 2/3 making for difficult entry/exit.
Insufficient lighting on bathroom mirror for shaving/make-up etc.
"single use" plastic cup in bathroom.
No vanity in bathroom for toiletries, makeup etc.
No luggage stand.
No desk/work area in room.
No filtered water anywhere on site. Only option was to purchase bottled water from pro shop.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Williams (7/5): Room on a golf course - Inclusive breakfast was nice. We turned up around 9:30ish so there were slim pickings, but I'm sure we could have gotten more if necessary.
Was in a quiet location. Room was average, very plain. The bed was small for a double.
- Sam (7/5): Good -
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Cliff (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice location. Food was excellent. We were supposed to be in the hotel but our room was the same at the lodges, I felt it was quite expensive for what the rooms were, I've stayed in more luxury hotel rooms for the same amount of money.
We went to our friends lodge and it was much nicer and bigger than the lodge next door to us and we all paid the same amount of money.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (3/5): Wouldn’t return - Sadly nothing Run down. Dirty bathroom. Thin walls and poor breakfast
- Helen (9/5): Superb - The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the food was tasty.
It was close to the raptor foundation, which I was visiting. None
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (6/5): Good place to stay as long as you don't want to eat a full meal in the resturant. - Good location and friendly check-in staff Hotel staff DID NOT ask if we wanted desert and just closed to kitchen before asking/informing us if we wanted to order anything more. They DID NOT tell us that we would need to order desert/coffee before the kitechen closed. This is EXTREAMLY rude and totally unprofessional.
- Ian (9/5): Lovely stay - First time I had stayed here, check in easy, receptionist very friendly and helpful, my room was very clean, a big thanks to the cleaning staff, breakfast was very good. Nothing to dislike.
- Malcolm (9/5): ENJOYED THE STAY - GOOD FOOD, EXCELLENT BREAKFAST NOTHING
- Angela (5/5): Ok apparently from the above - The bed was comfy The toilet did not flush well
The shower cubicle was far too small you would have to be a size 6 to get in it!! Appalling
- Jason (9/5): Great booking again. - I have stayed before so everything has expected. The shower very disappointing I did report to reception,
- Nathan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gillian (10/5): Excellent - Ideal stopover after a family gathering before travelling onward for a holiday. Nothing
- Michael (2/5): Do not book a room here unless you want to get no sleep and you like poor facilities. - Not much. The coffee was OK The rooms we noisy. I could hear the person in the next room urinating, snoring, and any other noise they made. The shower was awful. A cube that one steps in and hardly enough room to move. The doors stuck. It eas either very hot No one could get out quickly and why no one has scalded themselves yet in there is luck. When I got to the hotel, I was told where my room was, and I spent 20 mins trying to find it in the pitch black and cold. Awful hotel. I will never go there again.
- Theresa (5/5): Passable -
- Mitchell (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (7/5): Nice place to stay with friendly staff & great food. - Evening meal was exceptional value, great quality & a very good serving. Fitness centre was well equipped. Quite dark on walk to room. Room was perfectly adequate but could do with a dressing table but the biggest let down in the room was the shower, good size bathroom but the shower was disappointing.
- Mitchell (9/5): Superb -
- Omar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (8/5): A comfortable and clean overnight stay when working locally. - A clean and comfortable room which had everything I needed and was close to the restaurant and facilities. The food in the evenings was good and fairly priced. Overall a good place to stay for a night or two whilst working locally. The car park was quite muddy but little that could be done as it has been so wet. Also the breakfast although OK, could have been a bit fresher as some items were a bit dried out under the heatlamps.
- Roy (3/5): Poor -
