Guest Reviews
- Bortolazzo (8/5): - Proximity to central Goulburn main venues The stairs
- Macy (8/5): We loved our stay, great location and great for a large family - Great location, lovely unique home
- Tony (9/5): We loved the location and the property itself - Would have been nice if towels had been supplied
- Jason (9/5): -
- Marc (7/5): Beautiful house, well maintained. Guests will spend8 hours of every day in bed and it’s an easy heap fix to buy 3 x new - Location and presentation great. Mattresses are terrible quality and bed linen needs refreshing and towels could be provided.
- Richard (9/5): -
- Mel (10/5): Great location with lots of charm - Great location and fit our entire family who were passing through town. Property was easy to access and communication was easy with hosts. The air conditioning units in the bedrooms were loud and not very effective, but they did enough.
- Peta (9/5): such a beautiful character home, so much history. loads of space for our group of ladies to hang. - super easy check in. would have been really good if towels, bath and tea, were supplied - a bit extra to carry when travelling.
- Pascal (9/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): Despite the problems with the TV and Wifi we were very happy with our stay..great for a family group - Location was good for walking to local restaurants and club for dinner Wifi password provided didn't work.
TV screen was faulty...distorted picture and poor colour ( men had wanted to watch Rugby Test)
- Meagan (7/5): Outside was divine gorgeous for photos and great on sunny days. Downstairs was comfortable - The property has a quirkiness to it. It’s beautiful downstairs, living area, dining and cozy kitchen. Upstairs rooms a neat, bathrooms very old but nice, third level very pokey. The stair case to the top level is very very narrow. But rooms near very hot on arrival up on the very top level but comes with portable coolers in all rooms. No toilet up on the top level not great for elderly person. The narrowness of the top level and a lot of rules to be mindful of. No shoes up stairs as they have cream carpet but stairs are polished floors I had an elderly parent and was worried about them slipping on the stairs. Also no heels down stairs.
- catherine (10/5): Perfect house full of old world charm and nostalgia. - This beautiful historic house was the perfect place for our family group. Everything about the house was comfortable from beds to lounges. It was nice and clean and well maintained. It had all the essentials we needed. Walking distance from main shopping area so very convenient for pub and clubs and cafes. Highly recommended
- Dianne (8/5): A memorable adventure inspring stories for our Fellowshio of Australian Writers NSW (Inc) Group. - This venue was selected for a Writer's Retreat so we could be inspired to write stories without interruptions by hotel staff and cleaners. The creaky floor in the dining room, the worn front stairs behind the front gate, the candelabras in the dining room and the garden certainly took us back in time, beckoning us to unlock hidden stories. We loved the outdoor eating area and the ambiance. The tiny staircase to the third-floor rooms that would have been servants' quarters in the past led to the tower observatory and old fashioned charm. It was a fun place to stay in. It was not disability friendly and we had mostly people over 70 with two people over 90. At the age of 71 I struggled with the stairs and the step down from the dining room to the courtyard. There was an abscence of handrails on the front stairs and getting stuff in and out was by the front door for us. The toilet door downstairs was hard to lock, I never managed it. There was a variety of chairs with many of them uncomfortable as I was not able to get up from the lounge chair when i sat in it so I used a plastic chair from the outdoor area. There were no instructions on how to use the dishwasher and stove. We had to ring the support worker for help. The plug in the bathroom to the master bedroom got stuck and we were unable to release it. The door to the smaller room on the third floor jammed so one of us could not exit the room and needed to ring us for help to get her out on her mobile phone. The door handle went round and round without releasing the catch and the door dropped so it was a struggle to open it. All these challenges needed solving so that took time, The advantage of these challenges is we got lots of inspiration for stories. It was a memorable adventure at the end of the day.
- Georgia (9/5): It was a lovely place to base ourselves outside our retreat experience. - It’s character and charm. The towels were an extra cost.

- Sandra (8/5): Great weekend away had by the family - Great old home with ample furniture and kitchen supplies to cater for a large family gathering. The garden is particularly lovely. Bbq was not ready to use.
Instructions on oven use would have been handy.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb - Great facilities and location. Clean and comfortable The stairs to the top floor are for the young at heart
- Kane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annie (10/5): A lovely place to stay, such a lovely and interesting house with many levels. - Lovely house with so many great places to sit. We had a lovely meal outside in the courtyard.
Washing machine was much appreciated, as was cold water.
Perfect location being walking distance to town centre. Having to take our own towels was a bit of a pain as our cars were already full.
A few essentials like milk would have been appreciated.
- Chuckka (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location and amazing house
- Colin (9/5): A great venue for a extended family gathering. - The location, the atmosphere of Winslow House, the size of the house and enclosed yard made it ideal for for our family get together. Nothing to mention.we enjoyed our stay.
- Tamara (10/5): A great carefree time - Beautiful house, great location, very clean, easy to deal with, Absolutely nothing
- Deb (10/5): Exceptional - Arrived to find a wonderful magicial home. It was a very large home, it was very inviting and clean and comfortable. Kitchen had everything you needed. Great big living room with all mod cons. Two floors of bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our room had queen bed was very comfortable, slept all night. Church bells woke us in morning. Massive garden with bbq. We would recommend 100% to stay here. Nothing
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house, unique and wonderful upkeep throughout. Nothing
- Gabrielle (10/5): Amazing house with great facilities. - The house was spacious, very homely and was a perfect place for our large family to spend time together. There was nothing to dislike!
- Kate (10/5): A beautiful stay with beautiful friends. The house fit all our needs and we felt like we were living in a castle. Owners - Well equipped, beautiful house inside and out.
- Kristy (9/5): Beautiful, well kept character home in a great location. - The house was wonderful. Very well kept. Warm and inviting. Daniel was great to deal with, very helpful. The heating was on when we got there which was greatly appreciated!
- Felicity (10/5): Excellent location, beautiful church bells, lovely and warm. - This home has beautiful attention to detail. The grounds are immaculate. The host was responsive and very accomdating. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.
- Kate (8/5): Beautiful house. Had a great time catching up with friends and loved staying together. - Including towels and bath mats would have made the trip easier and more convenient.
- Andrea (9/5): Beautiful property for a getaway weekend - As an editor for a regional lifestyle magazine I’ve been watching this property for several years. Sensational charm of a bygone era! Lovely fireplace for cosy nights. At $600 per night for a group of 12, it represents excellent value for money. I had no issues whatsoever with the cleanliness of the house, it was superb. I understand from conversations with the owner it can be difficult sourcing consistent high quality cleaning companies in the Goulburn area, resulting in very close monitoring to ensure a consistent standard. I’m excited to see upcoming refurbishments the owner in store for the coming years.
- Catherine (5/5): So much potential not realised. - The property is a beautiful old home in a convenient location. The property was furnished sparsely and lacked the charm that should match such an historical home. The stovetop was dirty with previous guests spillovers. There was no dishcloth except for a tatty and smelly chux thrown in an old ice cream container under the sink. The bathrooms had mould and dirt on tiles, baths and sinks. It all requires some exit mould and a good scrub with gumption. One of the queen beds had double sheets fitted so they didn’t cover the whole bed. The carpets, particularly on the top floor and the steps, was in desperate need of a vacuum, and the main tv has a 40-60cm dark patch down the middle of the screen. We persevered and watched a movie but missed a great deal of the imagery. More care, cleanliness, and charm required to reciprocate for all the “Do not” rules.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (7/5): Great location. - Location was excellent. There were no bin liners, plastic bags.
The combination I was given to access the key to get into the property was wrong.
The old milk door was not lockable, and a small person could have accessed the property, we did not feel safe at all.
The stairs going up to the property needs a handrail. My elderly mother nearly fell over every time we went back to the property as the steeps were very uneven.
There were old jars of food in the fridge which had mold in them. The freezer had ice-cream left behind by other travelers which has melted and re frozen. I`m sure no one would eat it. We believe they should have been disposed of before other guests check in.
We had to go out and purchase bath towels as non were provided. We`ve never been in a place that doesn't provide the basic towels.
There were cobwebs in the side table in the loungeroom.
- Liz (10/5): Great place to stay for a weekend get away! - Loved the layout of the house and the way it’s been restored! It’s a lovely bit of history.
Also had a really nice big back yard. A lot of stairs. Not really a bad thing, I’m just really clumsy so had to be extra careful!
- Bonnie (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Our host Daniel was very helpful & obliging. The location was great central to most amenities, just a short walk.
A beautiful historic residence that was very comfortable.
- Connie (9/5): A group of friends had a fantastic overnight stay. - Fantastic location, easy walking distance to our event Being sent wrong code for lock box.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceeded expectations - There lovely shops at the Main Street and the Roses cafe is the best for breakfast.
- Leanne (7/5): Location was great the home was a beautiful old home with lots of character and charm - Easy to find Pin had changed that day , however we received a quick response
- Damien (9/5): Superb -
- Denise (5/5): We enjoyed our stay but would have liked to know there was no bedroom on the lower level and the appliances need to be l - Great space, rooms were great, excellent location The fridge was rusty on the outside and water dispenser is mouldy. Laundry looked like it was just to just throw stuff in and the washing machine is rusty. I don’t believe all the windows meet code. And we u Easton’s it had been raining the week leading up to our stay but would have been nice for the lawn to have been mowed.
- Liz (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn (8/5): Great location to cafes, pubs and clubs. Lots of space but be prepared for lots of stair. - There was enough space for everyone and if you wanted time out there was ample room to do so. Would have liked to have known there were no bedrooms on the ground floor as it made it hard for elderly guests to navigate stairs.
- Raphael (10/5): A really nice old place - A well cared for house, despite being over 100 years old. The rooms were clean, the house smelt lovely on arrival and the gardens were nice. The host was helpful.
- Skye (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property with a good yard for the kids to run around in. Although big it was very homely and comfortable.
- James (4/5): Somewhat dissappointed with the condition of the property. - Location and styyle of property The property is generally in a in a poor state of repair. Kitchen and utensils were not clean. Advertsing lead me to believe there are 3 bathrooms, and there are only 2 plus a toilet. Property information should include information about the attic being 2 bedrooms. Beds were all uncomfortable. Mattresses appeared very old. There was a hole in the wall in the lounge room, and party balloons floating at the ceiling, likely from previous guests.
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad -
- Keswani (8/5): Very good -
- Sean (9/5): It was a beautiful large place to stay with three adults and four young children. - We didn’t have the breakfast option, but the location was fantastic right in the heart of Goulburn. Close to the take aways, clubs, pubs and anything else you could possibly need. it’s hard to find accommodation for three adults and four young children. It was nice that we were able to stay there with the kids. I thought about it long and hard, and there isn’t really anything I can put down. It was a large home that gave us all room to move. After a long trip travelling from Victoria, our holiday was all about the kids, taking them to the snow and then having such a large place to explore they were really excited and happy, so no I can’t find Fault.
