Guest Reviews
- Feve (8/5): Good shower room, clean, kitchen & living room very relaxing looking at the reserved area. - Great location, very easy for transport & neighbours very quit.
Parkland is very beautiful, we love the nature it really feels like home away from home & great indoor plants, for better oxygen. Maybe a bit of repainting the wall 2nd bedroom & put mirror, because if someone using the bathroom, cant go their to used the mirror.
- Ngo (8/5): -
- Shade (10/5): - It was such a cozy warm place very glad to have found this for our weekend stay! Would recommend and stay here again!
- Harshita (10/5): -
- Shane (9/5): Very happy and would stay there again - The house was very clean and tidy and it was very conveniently located for what we needed Nothing
- Darryl (10/5): -
- Charity (10/5): Home away from home. - We felt right at home. It was so comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Lots of indoor plants made it feel even more homely. My favourite place we've stayed in Nothing. Everything was great.
- Nick (9/5): Nice place to stay - The house was clean and had everything that was needed. I couldn’t find an extra towel and the tea bags were old.
- Veena (8/5): Very good -
- Nurul (9/5): Excellent. - All good. The door of bathroom is quite tight.
- Lisa (10/5): Another great stay - This place is our home away from home. We come to Melbourne every 6 months to visit family and we never book anywhere else. Perfect location, has everything we need. Perfect!! Nothing
- Shelley (10/5): Great property would stay again - Great clean property. Couldn’t get heater to heat but was no biggie
- Jeanette (8/5): a lovely change from staying in a hotel when I’m here for work - Very clean and comfortable. Efficient aircon for the cooler evenings Just a suggestion: would have liked an oven tray, dish drainer and a couple of bigger bowls for salad etc as I like to cook.
- Jenny (8/5): Very good - Convenient location for activities along Mornington Peninsula and Eastern Melbourne.
Spacious unit for 3 adults.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Leanne (6/5): Great location, needs TLC - We stayed over a long weekend for 3 nights. location was great for our needs. Easy to get to straight off the freeway. Lock box great as we arrived late. Walking distance to club where we had a really nice meal 1 night. It was very warm so we appreciated the ducted cooling and fan in main bedroom. Great to have a washing machine there. The host was accommodating when we requested a later check out. Reasonably priced for a long weekend. The place needed some TLC. We can see from previous reviews from up to over a year ago that it has been suggested to replace the shower head, this was constantly falling on our head. The piece of thin plywood for the man hole in the bathroom kept lifting with the cooling on (ducted through the ceiling) and made a banging sound. we needed to close the bathroom door so we couldn't hear this. Could be fixed with a heavier piece of wood.
The bathroom sliding door kept getting stuck was hard to pull open/closed.
The second bedroom's bed was terrible, squeaky with every movement and uncomfortable.
We cooked in the kitchen and noted that there could have been some extra things supplied such as a few Tupperware items for microwave. Could not find scissors.
Heating/cooling vent in wall stuck with duct tape!
Lots of clutter, decorative items that were not to our taste and had to move them away from kitchen bench etc to give us room but this is a minor issue.
This place has a lot of potential with these issues fixed which are not overly costly. We were comfortable, apart from the above but unless assured that these issues were rectified would prob not stay again. We will be back in the area for the same weekend next year and likely for a few years as we attended a basketball tournament and we hope to be coming annually.
- Zoran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (5/5): Clean, comfortable bed. Could be so much more with a little tlc. - Comfortable bed. Air con and heating worked well. Good washing machine. Not enough towels. Not enough equipment in the kitchen - very poorly equipped. No decent wine glasses, only one very small saucepan, three frying pans. No clothes airer inside. Throughout deco is tired. Very noisy road. Shower head needs replacing.
- Bec (7/5): Good -
- Sami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Freddie (9/5): Superb -
- Sun (5/5): Passable - Too noisy
- Tuck (9/5): exactly right for what we needed - Could havw been more varied Shower floor a bit slippery - we were three 80 year olds
- Lisa (10/5): Our home away from home - This is our 3rd stay at this property. We love it as it is like a home away from home. It is close to the freeway and visiting our families. I would have no hesitation in recommending Janaka's place. See you again next time!!
- Suzanne (7/5): was good - we did not like the opened food and coffee etc . tooth paste butter.
it was like someone was living in the house . made us feel very uncomfortable /we did not use any of the items left in pantry or fridge . as they could have been contaminated. . not a good choice to leave food , and is an absolute health risk.
Apart from that your cottage was a great place to stay
- Natascha (7/5): Quaint Corner Cottage stay - We loved the convenience of the location, very close to everything we wanted to see .
The decor in the house was beautifully set out to give it a homily feeling and the size of the house met our needs . Everything was well thought out throughout the house too , from all the beautiful plants set out in each room to all our kitchen needs .
The view of the mountains each morning was stunning and the sunrises just set it off 👌
Great heating for each room , which was a must in cold Melbourne weather too . If I was to complain about anything, the bed in the master room squeaked when you moved and the bed in the other room needed a mattress that was longer to meet the bed frame , otherwise your pillows fell down the gap . But other than that we absolutely loved our stay and the owners were incredibly helpful and kind too .
- Susan (10/5): Overall it was a great stay. - The location was perfect. The home was cosy, comfortable and warm. It was easily accessible for my husband who is blind, he found it very easy to get around. A neighbour told us we couldn't park in the drive way of the unit and pointed out where to park, so we parked there but we got an unauthorised parking sticker put on our windscreen that was rather annoying to remove and was very confusing. We continued to park in the driveway after another neighbour suggested the driveway was the correct place to park.
- Voglino (8/5): we really enjoyed our stay here . it was homey and tidy - close proximity to dandenong, family and freeway shower head not stable
- Wing (9/5): Spacious nice house, great value for money. - Spaciousness, kitchen utensils, reading materials, location, communication, decorations looks very nice for guests without toddler (and I don’t have). Air conditioner has broken down, electrical heaters are provided but they are super noisy, would be almost perfect if the AC is working. Host offered cancellation before check-in but booking is prepaid and non-refundable at time of booking and insufficient time to find alternatives at reasonable time. Metal bed made horrible noise which woke me up even I was in another bedroom. Found out that check out time is actually 10am despite booking said 12pm. Bed linens are very old and rough.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Pankaj (8/5): Very good -
- Lidia (6/5): Could Be Better - The host was accomodating when we said we needed more towels as there was only two towels. There was enough basic essentials where we did not have to buy. The shower head needs replacing, bed in other room very uncomfortable and the big desk in the room is a hinderance. There was not all kitchen utensils like a potato peeler.
- Junanne (9/5): Very enjoyable - It was a great location for the event we were going to. It was clean and plenty of room for two people There were no matches to light the stove
- Laura (9/5): It was cozy and comfortable except for the beds. - The beds make too much noise and when you are moving in the middle of the night it wakes you up. When I spoke with my friends sleeping in the next room that had the same issue
- Halmahera (10/5): Enjoyable stay at the corner cottage. - Fully furnished and complete kitchen provisions. Very clean. Location is near enough to the Dandenong market and far enough to have sufficient privacy. Easy check-in and owner was very prompt when answering questions. Enjoyed our stay here. Could have been better if there was a switch socket outlet at the dining table area so that we can work on the laptop on the table. But this is a very minor issue. We solved it by working at the living room.
- Mirella (8/5): Excellent. Hosts were fantastic, home was neat and tidy and clean. - The property was convenient to where we needed to go daily.
Property was clean and tidy and big enough for the three of us. Just a little too far from the city but we are from Adelaide and it may be normal in other big cities.
- Mariela (9/5): Home away from home - Home was clean and location was good if you have a car.
Kitchen was well equipped however would be good if had a coffee machine. Well decorated , lots of plants aircon and central heating. Mattress in the bedroom was uncomfortable and the pillows were very poorly. Needs new linen and an update.
However will be our place to stay next time we have to visit family.
- Uniq (8/5): Very good - Clean Fire Alarm went off other then that was easy
- Claire (8/5): Spacious, clean house in very handy location for shops and Puffing Billy Railway - Shopping Center 2km away. Free fruit for each of us and lots of useful things in the fridge and larder eg milk, sauces, jam, paint butter etc. Lots of magazines and tourist guides. Not your fault but the road being flooded caused us some big detours!
- Pauline (8/5): Nice and tasteful apartment with attentive hosts - Very nicely decorated apartment. Tastefully done and spacious. Host was responsive and helpful. Pretty roses and a lemon tree in the backyard. Next to an open field and petrol kiosk.
Hosts took effort, eg provided leisure books and decor items to make it homely. Could not find a huge pot to cook soup. Other than that, utensils were quite complete and good space for cooking family meals. Thankfully there is a rice cooker.
Shower pressure a bit slow.
- Soeur (10/5): Exceptional - It was a really nice place the host was fantastic definately go again. I definitely recommend it here.
- Soeur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (8/5): If the install exhaust fans and provide extra blankets, it would have been perfect for my needs - Tastefully decorated. Great position in regards to my work. Easy parking. Well stocked kitchen and fridge Bed was cold and there were no extra blankets. Used the throw rug but wasn’t long enough.
There are no exhaust fans in bathroom and toilet. Everything fogged up unless you left the door open.
Never worked out the heater/cooler, not that I really needed it.
- Desmond (10/5): A gem for road trip holiday with family - Has everything a family need on a road trip vacation. A place to park, kitchen for heating/cooking of food for young children. Clean and tidy. Comes with both central heating and cooling. Nothing. If I must nitpick, it has only 1 bathroom. But at least the toliet and shower are separate.
- Lisa (10/5): Another great stay at Corner Cottage - This is the 2nd time that we have stayed here and again it was excellent. The property location is fantastic for us visiting family and to get around easily. There is everything that you could need in the house and we would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the SE suburbs. There is nothing to not like about this property.
- Fasuc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lidia (8/5): Great Stay - The location for me was excellent. Any issue could ring property owner to come. Had some amenities which was useful Shower head could be more powerful but did not bother us to much. And one bed was a bit too hard
- Steven (8/5): Melbourne 2023 - Loved the location. Perfect size. Handy to transport. Warm. Felt like being at home. Hosts communicated well and promptly and were friendly and helpful.
- Lisa (10/5): Absolute gem in Dandenong North - This property exceeded our expectations. It was clean, cosy and just a fantastic place to stay. Inoka & Janaka are the perfect hosts. There was fresh fruit provided along with milk and butter in the fridge. It was the perfect location for us very close to the Monash freeway. We stayed there for 5 nights and it was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be staying here when we again return to Melbourne for our next visit. Thank you so much! There was nothing to dislike about this property
- Treshell (10/5): A little gem, so happy we found Cosy Corner, gave our family a comfortable healing base whilst visiting our loved one in - Central heating, lovely decor, comfy beds, close to M1 and all conveniences.
Beautiful outlook from the veranda’s, private and peaceful 💜 It didn’t bother us, but garden beds need a little love. Could imagine it would be hard to achieve with constant bookings.
Constructive criticism only, no offence intended. Our hosts went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
- Maria (10/5): A wonderful stay in a beautiful area - Nice clean and comfy cottage, I liked how large it is and the decoration and everything was fabulous, I really enjoyed the stay, the owner is generous you can see it from every detail, the kitchen was fully equipped, we really enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely come back The only thing I didn’t like was the bed in the master room its was very small for a couple, I wish it was much more bigger and comfortable
- Natalie (10/5): A lovely homey place to stay -
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Close to hospitals and services to support my family. It was cosy and clean with excellent heating. There could have been a chromcast to login into TV streaming services
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Travis (10/5): Nice unit in a good location, has everything you need, comfy bed, great heating will definitely stay again - Very comfortable and homely Nothing.
- Potato (10/5): Lovely place to spend a couple days - Excellent location for the purpose we needed it. Nice view from the kitchen windows too. Close to supermarket etc. Good heating and comfortable beds. Also good as it had some staples such as salt and pepper....sauce....
- Svein (10/5): it was a beautiful villa , spotless with very nice decor, could not be faulted . - the corner cottage was all you could ask for and more, I’ve been travelling for a while and I can’t say I’ve stayed in better , and for a very reasonable price ✔️ there was nothing to not like
- Iliska (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheridyn (10/5): Exceptional - very homely feel with all the ammenities you need!
- Traceyjsu (9/5): Superb - The cottage was ideally located for where we needed to be and the extras provided were appreciated, although we didn't use all of them. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great and I think the black metal frame bed is broken, it didn't feel very solid.
There were also dirty/used cloths in the kitchen but I found new ones.
A chair in the front bedroom along with a dressing table and mirror would be useful.
- Adreana (9/5): Lovely, quiet, home away from home. - Lovely little touches like a bowl of fruit and bottle of milk. The pot plants and little frames around just made it feel like a cozy home. One bed frame (black) needs a bit of repair but I’m just being picky really.
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location and lovely accommodation with everything supplied. Owners are lovely also. Highly recommend. Nothing we didn't like. The accommodation was perfect.
- Barb (10/5): Lovely little cottage - Great value for money. Impressed with the extras provided, fresh milk and fresh fruit for example. Loved the decor and the art work Nothing
- Kaaay (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean upon arrival, lovely and peaceful, comfortable for my family 👪 it felt like home away from home
- Fan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shajoti (8/5): Very good -
- Dilip (10/5): It felt like a home away from home. - It was a cozy villa with adequate furnishings and facilities. I really liked it!
- Janelle (9/5): Dandenong delight - Comfortable quiet house with plenty of space and adequate kitchen equipment to make cooking easy, including condiments, milk and butter. Also had washing machine, books and magazines, and a bowl of fruit, nuts and chocolate. The owner quickly provided ironing board immediately after requesting it. Not walking distance from train station, but could easily catch the bus.
- Karson (9/5): Superb - Very clean place and comfortable for family.
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherry (8/5): There are a few down sides but it’s not expensive so I can deal with it for one night - It’s very clean, nice decoration.
Value for money The bed is a bit small, It’s a bit smelly when we first walked in
There is little to no hot water in the shower and the water pressure is really weak.
The blind is not working well in the master bedroom. It’s so bright in the morning.
