Guest Reviews
- Pavol (1/5): Bad - Lokalita Unacceptable disappointment.
Booking.com is great company.
I joined in 2015 and have used it during my multiple travels and loggings and most of the time I was very pleased.
Not so this time, just the opposite.
We booked 7 nights.
When we arrived to the property, we were surprised with messy yard.
The owner apologized with an explanation that he is repairing fencing.
Then he showed us our room and we were literally hit by a foul smell and stale odor.
After our complaints, the owner promised to compensate us for this by not charging us parking fee (70 euro).
Second very unpleasant surprise came when we realized we can’t lock our room. The owner made a promise again that he will repair it the next day. The door was not repaired at all during our stay.
In the kitchen sink we found dirty towel, in the bathroom there was 1/2 of the toilet roll…for the two of us for the entire week.
The owner’s big dog, seemingly hungry, was coming to our room, jumped onto our bed and laid down onto the bed sheets.
After two days of our stay they turned off the wash machine with the explanation that we use too much water and electricity.
Bedsheet material wasn’t cotton but synthetic, the bed squeaky.
During the night we were waking up due to the stench and staleness in the room. We kept opening the door so some fresh air would come in.
Two days before our departure, a
lady, most likely owner’s partner or wife, asked us to pay for parking. Her husband was in the house, because we heard him whistling and walking around. He didn’t bother to come out and talk to us. We gave this lady €50 and left one day earlier. This lady was filming us, intruded upon us while packing and made threats.
Perhaps the owner thought it is ok to behave this way but I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation even to my enemy.
We paid for 6 nights €900 plus parking and city tax. We consider this amount unfair, wrong, inadequate for the smell, unlocked room and confrontational behavior of the host.
- Eric (8/5): perfect for a short stay when you want to explore the area around Genova - We only arrived around midnight due to a lot of traffic delays and although the owner had to get up early the next day, he was patiently waiting for us upon arrival. Apartment is the bottom floor of the house where the family lives. Everything was very clean it is a tiny cozy spot where you can relax in private. the apartment is located in a quiet zone (positive) of Genova, accessible by car (ask for parking) yet getting there especially the first time can be challenge due to the extreme narrow alleys that brings you there
- O (9/5): Beautiful property, right on the coast and just a short bus to the city centre - Great location and setting with wonderful hosts, clean property with lots of amenities
- Lana (10/5): :-D Pleasant stay! - Kind and responsive host, great view from the entrance, clean and well equipped room (washer in the bathroom and a drying rack outside), comfortable bed. I found lots of snacks and fresh fruits on the table, water, coffee and real milk in addition to an espresso machine that made my stay better than other similar places. This private room is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple on a budget but comfortable trip. Getting to this place in an SUV was challenging because of very narrow streets. It's Genoa, Italy, so you have to prepare for this in advance by asking the host about a better route (enter from the South, not North), or simply use bike/scooter.
