• John (10/5): The Best Place to Stay in Piombino, Italy - Our experience with Albergo Italia was outstanding. We feel this hotel is the best accommodation one can have in Piombino. It offers a wonderful ambiance, a great breakfast, clean and spacious rooms, the staff is absolutely the best, it is less than a hundred meters from the downtown pedestrian zone and restaurants, it is a 5-10 minute drive to the ferries, and parking is a breeze if you are driving. • Aude (10/5): Très bonne nuit dans cet hôtel avant de prendre le ferry pour l’île d’Elbe. - Très bonne nuit dans cet hôtel. Monsieur accueillant, bonne communication en amont. Chambre confortable et bien équipée. Nous n’avons pas testé le petit déjeuner. Idéal pour prendre le ferry pour l’île d’Elbe (5min en voiture). A noter : nous avions l’autorisation pour circuler dans la ZTL (zone à trafic limité) en voiture. Ne testez pas. Nous avions une toute petite voiture, et c’était une vraie galére. Petites rues, plein de piétons et de terrasses. Nous en sommes sortis avec difficulté et de grosses frayeurs. Nous avons trouvé une place gratuite près de la gare à 5min à pied de l’hôtel.

Man darf als Hotelgast in die ZTL-Zone einfahren - muss dies allerdings im Hotel zwingend melden, damit es an die Polizei weitergegeben wird - und darf dann auch dort parken. Das Personal hat sehr flexibel auf meinen Fehler reagiert, da ich unbemerkt das falsche Datum angegeben hatte und uns zum Preis der Differenz eine Suite angeboten.

• Michael (8/5): - Soweit die Verständigung funktioniert, nettes Personal. Gebäude und Ausstattung sind alt, aber ok. Die Lage ist der Hammer, 200 m zum Stadttor und zum Meer. Das Personal kämpft mit Englisch, wenn man nicht Italienisch spricht. Die Garage (Doppelgarage) ist trapezförmig vom Grundriss, die Zufahrtstore sehr schmal. Tetris mal anders... Der Aufzug macht 10 cm/sek, der Knopf muss dauerhaft gedrückt werden. Wer schlecht zufuß ist braucht Zeit.
