Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): Lovely peaceful place with excellent breakfast. - The location. The cleanliness. The breakfast. The quiet. The wet room requires a raised lip near the door. If you are not used to this then it is a potential trip hazard as I found when I stubbed my toes.
- MARIA (9/5): -
- ROB (10/5): Perfect for a traveller - Wonderfully calm - Manager & Admin manager lady were delightful Nothing
- Lee (10/5): Stunningly beautiful, peaceful and great value.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Comfort, location, serenity, & cleanliness…communication from Fran ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would have helped if the dinning room fridge was working….
- Rachel (9/5): - Fantastic location close to Hurst Green which we needed. Lovely peaceful site. Basic room but very friendly welcoming reception and delicious breakfast

- Leslie (10/5): - Beautiful location on grounds of Stoneyhurst college
- Marje (9/5): Grandeur and modern facilities provide for a welcoming stay! - Beautiful location. Modern facilities. Super Clean, warm and well looked after. Staff welcoming and helpful. Shower was powerful but slow to drain away, bathroom flooded!
The single bed was fine for me but the duvet was too small.
- Richard (10/5): Amazingly good place to stay in a terric location with great helpful and incredibly nice staff. - Location is beautiful, staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for guests. I had to leave early so they put togehter a very generous packed breakfast for me. There is nothing that could have been better
- Anke (4/5): Sehr Basic - Lage Badezimmer
- David (9/5): Excellent, very friendly and efficient staff and a great setting. - It is in grounds of a leading public school of which I am an old boy albeit many years ago. It is a historic building extremely well converted in a historic setting. It is a rural location with plenty of walks available including some with J R R Tolkein connections (two of his sons had connections to the college -- one of them taught me Latin!). Excellent pub The Shireburn Arms in Hurst Green a mile and half away for lunch and dinner.
Also a great golf course quarter of a mile away! Nothing to dislike!

- Jo (10/5): Would highly recomend - clean, modern rooms, great value for money and super helpful staff. - We stayed at Theodore House as a group of friends, following a walk up Pendle Hill during the day. It is in a stunning location being situated in the grounds of Stoneyhurst.
The staff at Theodore House were incredibly helpful both before and during the stay, ensuring that our needs were accomodated and helping organise local taxis to Clitheroe for the evening.
The accomodation was clean, modern and a great choice for a group stay, with breakfast being included an added bonus.
Great value for money and I would highly recomend. Nothing, it suited our needs perfectly
- DAwn (10/5): Stayed at this property, to attend a wedding at near by hobbit hill beautiful property , cle and comfortable beautiful s - Beautiful, property, stunning location and surroundings, staff loverly easy check I. , comfortable clean rooms very comfortable bed tea and coffee I. Rooms We loved it
- JIEYI (10/5): - N/A
- Susan (9/5): Restful stay - Peaceful setting
- Katie (1/5): Traumatising - Nothing The rooms were more like horrible college dorms with everything being metal, nothing was mentioned on booking.com about it being a catholic hotel, usually wouldn’t bother me, however Jesus hanging on a crucifix above my bed is something i definitely should’ve known about before I booked. Everything about my “stay” was just horrendous I couldn’t last another ten minutes and had to leave as quick as possible, also the room was full of spiders and the door didn’t lock.
- Karen (9/5): Great stay lovely venue - Very good friendly staff Nothing you had all you needed
- Tim (10/5): -
- Ian (10/5): Top location, great affordable accommodation with accommodating staff - Immaculately clean accommodation; staff were immensely friendly, welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was generous. Would not hesitate to recommend. N/A
- Anaclet (7/5): I would stay again but the meals issue needs to be addressed - Clean and well lit Somewhat cold and lack of dinner services not ideal because it is isolated

The setting is stunning,, very tranquil and relaxing.
The approach is gorgeous. A long drive up towards Stoneyhurst college.
Theodore house is next to the college. It's a lovely building surrounded by gardens. Good parking.
Staff were lovely, so welcoming and very helpful
Michael was extremely helpful with information before our check in day. He passed on the number of Fran, who was equally helpful and very welcoming . We had to change our check in time twice due to a cricket game. This was no trouble at all
She happily ordered us a taxi to the wedding, as the location is so rural we thought we'd have trouble getting a taxi. But this wasn't a problem.
We met another lovely lady at breakfast but I can't remember her name.
Room was spacious and exceptionally clean. We had a garden room and the view was very nice.
We would definitely return if we get the chance. Nothing to not like
- Mohammed (8/5): -
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely quiet stopover somewhere a bit different. - The room was really spacious and clean, the grounds are stunning and it was incredibly peaceful. The staff were so kind and attentive and we had a lovely breakfast. Nothing! It was perfect. There are no TVs in the room but we didn't mind as there is free WiFi for any devices.
- Andrew (8/5): Had a nice stay in the grounds of outstanding Stonyhurst College - Breakfast was good and had a few options, the scrambled eggs on toast was very good and nice coffee, the location was good for the surrounding countryside, and Stonyhurst college and its surroundings were beautiful, but as we were going to a wedding for the day a few miles away we didn't get to explore the grounds or the surrounding area, but would like to return to the area to venture further into the forest of Bowland area. Couldn't fault the accommodation really so nothing we didn't like
- Jeff (10/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): -
- James W (10/5): Lovely location, friendliest staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. - Clean, super friendly staff (thank you again to the lovely lady who left a fan outside my room because it was a really hot weekend, you’re a star). It was great
- David (7/5): Great value compared to other locations for a simple bed and breakfast - Stunning location There is no signal for your mobile phone and the Wi-Fi didn’t work in the bedroom

- Emma (8/5): -

- Anne-marie (8/5): Lovely place to stay - Beautiful and quiet location. Friendly staff. Awkward step up into very small bathroom.
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vincent (8/5): Good stay, could do with some high level cleaning of spiders etc on the ceilings. Also clearer instructions on how to ac - Fantastic location, unique, historic,
- Jacki (8/5): Very good -
- Mikie (10/5): Excellent short stay, great value considering location, lovely staff - Beautiful location.. lovely design.. No complaints, the property is perfect
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Pauline (7/5): Good - It's the most extraordinary setting. Stunning countryside, and just driving onto the Stonyhurst Estate to get there was breathtaking. The staff, Fran in particular, were lovely. The welcome was very warm and the atmosphere was tranquil. It wasn't that I didn't like anything, I was just a little surprised to find that Theodore House is a Christian Heritage Centre.

- Gina (8/5): Although not what was expected our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable - Extremely clean and well appointed- staff super nice and friendly- location was stunning Felt the photos of the place were very misrepresented as the property looks vast and ornate but this isn’t where you stay - you can’t fully see the converted mill the accommodation is in - the photo shows the 16th century boarding school next door!
- Laurence (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Martine (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - The staff were very helpful and nice the building was lovely and the location was great The bathroom was small

- -alexp- (9/5): Intend to stay again - Excellent location for a walk
Very quiet
Much nicer than the nearby towns
Breakfast, while simple continental with eggs, was decent quality, fresh and catered for dietary needs The PVC bathroom pods (think modern Travelodge) while functional and very clean are a bit cramped for getting dry, wouldn't like to try and get dressed in one if sharing.
- Ann (8/5): Just perfect - Beautiful location. Ideal if attending a wedding at one of the nearby venues. Very tasty continental breakfast in the lovely dining room. No problem getting taxis. No window only a sky light
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable

- Tom (8/5): Useful for work stay - Very clean Didn’t know it was such a Religious venue, quite a lot of pictures / quotes etc
- Katie (8/5): Good location & Clean basic rooms - Nice clean room and lovely grounds. Nice breakfast. Great location for a wedding just down the road. Didn't realise when booking but it is a very religious place. No double beds and lots of religious things on the walls etc.
Doesn't affect the stay but should have been made clearer
- May (8/5): Stunning location - the location is stunning. very peaceful and quiet.
Breakfast was continental buffet good choice. Staff were approachable, friendly, very helpful.
