- MANISH (1/5): Bad - Nothing in particular Very awkward location. The road leading to property is very very crowded. The small alley from the main road to property is all rocky & un mettled. the rooms were very small. No lift in the builduing. Not worth the stay.
- Edoardo (2/5): Pessime condizioni - Bella piscina e staff gentile In camera era pieno di scarafaggi e non posso definirla pulita. Valutate voi dalle foto
- Ithamar (7/5): -
- Chatikobo (10/5): - WiFi, power supply No blankets, switch for lights was not working
- Syed Adil (6/5): -
- Stephanie (8/5): - Comfortable room, good food.
Excellent communication and help arranging late-night shuttle. Mid-morning pop music from the bar, maybe a bit too early for that level of noise.
- Pascale (9/5): - Accueil chaleureux et attentif
- Johannes (9/5): -
- iSam (8/5): -

- Annabelle (10/5): Perfect choice for travellers going to Mbezi bus station - We were very impressed by Hotel Amaranth. The hotel is very close to the Mbezi bus station which was extremely convenient for our journey to the Usambara Mountains. The hotel kindly reserved our bus tickets for us, provided a free bus transfer to the station and prepared us all a packed breakfast to take with us, even though our bus was at 5:30am! The staff were very friendly, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the on-site restaurant was lovely.
- Jaciara (2/5): Not a place to come again. - The hotel at the foto is similar what we found, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful with information, the swimming seems nice and clean. The location was not what was expected, it’s very far from the city and there’s a lot of music noise the night we arrived (Thursday). Inside of our room, we found tiny cockroach’s everywhere. At the weekend they had two events very loud until 23pm or late, without any advice before about it. The breakfast very poor, need to be improved. The room had a bad smell, sewage.
- Antony (10/5): Relaxing and memorable stay with exceptional service, delicious food, and unbeatable hospitality - I had an incredible experience staying at Hotel Amaranth. I initially booked for a week but ended up extending my stay for another week because I felt so comfortable and well looked after. The hotel manager kindly gave me a generous discount for the extended stay, as well as a discounted late checkout on my last day — a very thoughtful gesture I truly appreciated.
The staff were outstanding across the board — from reception to housekeeping, kitchen, bar, and security. Everyone was professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell the team works together with a shared commitment to making guests feel at home.
The room was spotless, well-designed, and very comfortable. I especially enjoyed having the pool view, and the air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is calm and peaceful — a great place to rest, away from the busyness of the city.
Food-wise, the hotel exceeded my expectations. Their ugali and chicken makange were the best I’ve ever had, and the beef sambusas were easily the best in town — crispy, juicy, and full of flavour. The bar was also excellent and very affordable. I really enjoyed relaxing there in the evenings with my favourite drink — Serengeti Lite, always served cold and fresh.
One of the standout features was the Wi-Fi — fast, stable, and honestly the best I’ve experienced in Dar es Salaam. I had no issues with streaming, video calls, or working online during my entire stay. It’s a huge plus for both business travellers and casual guests.
The hotel also offers great facilities including a clean swimming pool, peaceful garden spaces, reliable room service, and ample secure parking. The security staff were always present, respectful, and made me feel completely safe at all times. I’ll definitely be returning on future trips to Dar es Salaam( in June ). I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, secure, and welcoming place to stay. None
- Naomi (8/5): Very good - The food was really good, tasty and fresh. The property is beautiful and has everything you need. The room is well set up and comfortable. Seems like a well staffed facility with helpful staff. Close to local culture. It is very far away from center of dar es salaam and airport. Airport transfer offered by the hotel is too expensive. Room service for food is too slow.
- Trizk (9/5): Superb - The staff were amazing not forgetting the Managers Deus and Peter.
- Miyetu (7/5): Good -
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional - This is a hidden gem of a hotel. Great facilities, including a lovely pool and good food. With the added bonus of being very close to the bus terminal with knowledgeable staff and complementary transport for our 5am bus.
Can't recommend it enough
- Anna (10/5): The best hotel near Magulufi bus terminal - The room is comfortable it has a pool and restaurant. They arranged free transfer to the bus station and made sure that we catch a bus in the biggest bus terminal ever! We also got take away breakfast because we check out really early. Waiting time for room service was very long
- Thomas (8/5): Staff was very friendly and very helpful. - Room was nice - well appointed. Only one channel on the TV - funny, it was ESPN2 and when I turned it on it was the first inning of the Dodger/Atlanta game! I watched the whole game. The restaurant is very small and not elegant.
- Godliver (8/5): It was okay and go back to hotel. - Surroundings, the food and service were excellent. The outside environment was not pleasing or compatible with the hotel value.
- Iamizac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agu (8/5): Awesomely 👌🏽 - Very helpful and friendly staff. Especially Halima, Michael, Martha and Grace. There is nothing not to like.
- Ethelgiva (8/5): Very good -
- Shane (8/5): A reasonable place to stay for an early morning bus departure, but some shortcomings - If you have an early morning departure from the Magufuli bus station then Hotel Amaranth is likely your only convenient option. They provide a complementary shuttle service to the bus station for guests at any time.
The room was reasonable - mosquito net, AC, complementary water, small fridge and jug. There was no convenient place to put your luggage.
The switch for one of the lights was broken - I feared to touch it as I thought that I might be electrocuted, however, one of the staff showed me how to use it. Nonetheless, it should have been fixed.
There is no distinct shower area, so when you have a shower all of the bathroom floor is soaked, which is inconvenient.
- Linda (9/5): Great staff, great value. Def use this hotel again - Staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Pool was a pleasant surprise and food good. Helped me get the bus to Lushoto from the chaotic bus station which is only 10 mins away. Important at 5:30! Nothing
- Mr (10/5): comfortable - everything nothing
- Adam (8/5): Excellent value for money! - I expected a lot less considering the cheap price. Actually, the hotel was nice and the staff members were very helpful. It was excellent value for money. There was no mosquito net in my room so mosquitoes affected my sleep and were frustrating at times.
- Hamed (8/5): Ok for the money but don’t expect a honeymoon hotel for this price - Staff are nice however be ready to wait 1-2 hours for your food order at the hotel restaurant you will keep hearing 5 mins however things work slightly differently in this country…akoona matata Cleaning must be improved
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent food, very friendly and helpfull staff, good comfortable beds. The pool was closed unfortunately while we were there.
- Ashraf (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicolai (9/5): Superb -
- Ganiu (7/5): Good -
- Swalehe (8/5): Very good -
- Markus (6/5): Pleasant - I really liked the pool, which is really beautiful and also has some massage jets.
The shower in my room was also good for African conditions.
The fruit juices at the bar were good too. The staff at the bar and in the restaurant looked very tired and overworked.
(Maybe the staff should get more off days, that they have more energy on their work days)
There was a massive construction site for a few days, which blocked the whole stairhouse to my room, that I couldn't even pass, because the stairway was under construction.
Terrible..!
(As a courtesy for the circumstances I got one night of my stay refunded, which I appreciated)
Some of the Receptionist were a bit arrogant and slowly partly.
- G&g (8/5): Very good -
- Mwigeka (8/5): Very good -
- Davis (8/5): Very good - The manager Mr. Deus and the staff at the reception were very helpful. There was lots of noise from the bar downstairs up to very late.
The staff who came to serve breakfast appeared to had a bad morning, was very unprofessional and lacked courtesy
- Sylwia (5/5): If you have choice choose other place. - This hotel is very close the bus station. It was a reason why I choose this place. The staff was very helpful. The rooms was mouldy and stinking. Bathroom didn’t have any ventilation, everything was wet.
They don’t have proper restaurant. They have menu with high prices and they change the prices when they give you recipes.
Water in swimming pool was dirty.
- Andrew (4/5): Fairly bad. - The inside environment overview is great. However room environment not well planned. Alot of service lapses -cleaning especially, how bags get planned on the room, missed/delayed order. Food wasnt great at all for both days. Noise from other visitors should be discouraged.
- Emil (8/5): Very good -
- Mow (9/5): Overall very nice and a good value. - The breakfast was good, a good variety. Everything was great except the location was a little remote and you have to take a rough dirt road to get to the hotel
- Ibramiho_ (8/5): Very good - Nice place clean and modern facilities, and the view is beautiful
- Anonymous (9/5): The stay exceeded my expectations. For sure I will return - The facilities were clean, the staff were were really friendly and considerate. The value for money for sure was great.
The food was great and a lot. There were mosquitoes which I understand is not their fault.
- Magomba (6/5): Pleasant -
- Julius (5/5): Passable -
- Tina (7/5): DECENT STAY - The hotel is decent, clean and good food. Bit far from the city, about 18k from CBD.
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Christine (9/5): Super clean with very friendly staff - would like a better breakfast! - Super clean, had good butter chicken. Is very close to Magufuli bus station - and the driver helped us navigate the station. Was quite difficult to communicate with some staff members (admittedly, I don’t speak Swahili). Their breakfast was pretty minimalist. I would like them to cut up some fruit for breakfast. And if they had oatmeal, it would be helpful. The restaurant only had a few of the items
- Erasto (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Navdeep (8/5): Okay - Nice clean room. Too much noise from other hotel guests. Very limited food items on the menu were available to order. Shuttle charges TSh10,000 to the bus station which was the whole reason I stayed. I thought it was included in the rate.
- Sajeev (8/5): Good Property to Stay for your Weekend getaway - Good Breakfast with limited options.
- Praveen (8/5): Very good -
- Mr (10/5): everythig was perfect - The room was wonderful the service met my expectations nothing
- Juliet (9/5): Excellent value for money, modern and clean rooms, highly recommend! - Modern spacious rooms and bathrooms
Spotlessly clean
Very helpful staff, for example accompanying us to the bus stop to buy tickets and then to the bus the next day
Friendly receptionist
Close to bus station
Close to liquor store (!)
Delicious dinner Very minor thing..Asked reception to let us know when food was ready and if we would get food packed for breakfast the next morning and very slow response (had to check again!)
Dinner took a long time to arrive
- Abdulhalim (10/5): Exceptional - The staff are friendly and helpfül Nothing. Everything is good the food is delicious.
- Sander (8/5): Very good -
- Jeremia (2/5): Very poor - Good vibe They change a price between booking price and when you arrived they change room price
- Mr (10/5): Exceptional - Everything None
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazing. The mosquitos.
- Rutere (8/5): Very good - the pool was nice and the facility itself the location and Wi-Fi was really bad
- Norris (4/5): Disappointing -
- Boya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Biringer (7/5): clean, modern, helpful staff, budget friendly - clean, modern, well-secured no mosquito net, noise down the hall late at night, location down unlikely alley seems odd but was conveniently near bus terminal for inland travel
- John (10/5): Exceptional - food and the staff are friendly nothing
- Mary (8/5): We had fun! - The rooms were big and clean, aircon working properly. It's easily accessible.
Appreciated the attention on arrival as arrived pastmidnight.
We loved their breakfasts.
We got parked breakfast on departure since we left at dawn which was very kind of them.
The pool is big and clean.
New year bbq was delicious. Housekeeping not restocking some items like sugar and toilet paper.
Not replacing utensils while cleaning the rooms (this happened to the 3rooms that we had for the 3days we stayed)
We had requested 3rooms together however we got one on 2nd and two on 3rd, some dude promised to make adjustments after some checkout but no one spoke to us about it again.
We were taken to Kidibwi beach however the beach is very dirty.
- Joan (9/5): Superb - They served really good breakfast, the pool was fantastic and the manager was very helpful and available for everything we needed. The staff were also very courteous. It's a gem in mbezi area. It is a distance from the city.
- Vincent (1/5): Worst experience. - Nothing. Customer service was poor. No variety of foods served. They said its buffet service but very little food. No water for drinking. The towels we had to share yet we were two of us. So mean. I hated my honeymoon experience. The room I booked ought to have had a balcony but had to upgrade with extra to get access to such a room. I even left a day earlier. I just need a refund.
- J.a.n.e.l (9/5): Excellent! Must visit - The hotel was nice and clean. Very comfortable beds and atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay.
Food was excellent! Very affordable and decent portion size. Give my regards to the chef!
There was an adult and kids pool. Overall, staff were very welcoming to kids and families. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. No refrigerator in the room. I'm sure it might be available with other room options however.
- Faraja (8/5): Very good -
- Tuyeni (10/5): Brand new hotel with super attentive staff conveniently located near the Magufuli Bus Terminal, Dar - The staff were super friendly and attentive and made me breakfast even when I had to leave very early (5:30 am) to catch the bus. The rooms were fantastic - hot shower, hard bed, clean and shiny new. The location is perfect if you need to catch a bus heading inland - it is 7 mins away by Bajaji from the Magufuli Bus Terminal. It has a pool and pub, but I did not get a chance to use those. The kitchen staff need to keep their voices down after 8 PM since they are easily heard in the rooms facing the kitchen side. It would have been good for them to arrange for a taxi to pick me up in the morning rather than have to go out to search for one. I strongly suggest that the hotel keeps a list of realiable tuktuk, motor and regular taxi drivers who can be informed the night before of the need for their services.
