- Mulic (10/5): Exceptional - This Hotel is Amazing, staff very very nice, helpful. I would highly recommend to all my friends and family
- Taylor (9/5): Superb - The place was great. Everything was spotless, and the bed/pillows were comfortable. We went in the summer, and the air conditioner worked great to keep the room cold. The breakfast in the morning was amazing, and to be honest, they almost give you too much food. The restaurant was also a good place to eat if you were looking for something convenient to eat. The staff was great and easy to work with.

- Fabjol (10/5): Proactive staff and great dining service - Staff is quite kind and available, well beyond the average in the area. High degree of hygiene and great service. When I’m in Albania I often end up working remotely and their in-room dining service is simply excellent. I can’t neglect the staff’s reactivity, really. So, I rated it 10/10 because they have a distinctive proactivity in terms of customer care and I want to encourage them. However, having been there 4 or 5 times now, I noticed some repetitive patterns that I’d suggest keeping an eye on:
- Cleaning staff (very kind and professional) keep chatting with each other loudly in the corridors. As walls aren’t well isolated acoustically, you can literally follow their conversation.
- Wifi coverage is good, but the speed is ridiculous. Meaning there’s signal, but you can’t do anything with it. Anything basic, let alone to work with it. During each of my stays I’ve worked 8h a day with my iPhone’s hotspot.
- I use their in-room service heavily. I generally like it. There are few courses that require more care: risottos are intended to be al dente (which I like) but they’re ultimately cooked at 2/3. When you order meat they never ask you if you want it rare, medium, well done etc. It’s always well done.
- Garage exit: if you go out in the early morning as I do, chances are for you to struggle going out. Another issue is that some folks keep parking their cars at the exit. I have already raised this in the past and I wish they become more rigid on this with some signage or something.
- This is a typical north-Albanian thing: they really struggle to smile to guests. I’ve never understood why but if don’t originate from the area (I do), the chances of you perceiving a form of hostility are quite high.
Nevertheless, the core target of the hotel are Albanians who go to the thermal baths few hundreds of metres from there. I’m aware these points may be only subtleties for them, but I genuinely wish them to improve as I plan to return again.
- Hagen (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Large rooms, with fridges, with a elevator from the underground parking to the rooms - This is a hotel, with a grand entrance compared to what else we saw in the area. There was underground parking with an elevator up to the hotel and rooms.
The rooms were spacious, with a sofa and table. There was warm water for showers, and you could set the heating in the room to the temperature you wanted.
Breakfast was served as a hot egg, sausage, bread, butter and jam, cheese, cucumber and tomato per person, with one drink of choice orange, apple juice, tea or coffee in the restaurant. The best apple/orange juice as it was fresh.
We did request rooms close by, and they were next door to each other.
A hotel Teddy bear was in one of the rooms. The hotel was in a quiet area but they played loud music downstairs in the morning from the bar which could be heard in the rooms.
There were only 2 hangers in the room, with no kettle or way to make a hot drink. There was also no glasses or mugs, but you could ask for these at the bar and no spare pillows but again you could ask.
The beds were very hard compared to others in Albania.
There were have used toiletries left to use instead of new ones.
The biggest disappointment was the Jacuzzi is not for everyone as it appeared to be advertised on Booking.com but only the junior suite so wrongly promoted.
- Naim (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hotel with nice friendly staff
- Tracolin (9/5): Nice and comfy stay - The hotel was comfortable, central, clean and quiet. The restaurant was nice and the dinner menu was very good and tasty, with fair prices. The breakfast offering was ok but could have been better with more local products rather than store bought (like the store bought cheese slices or store bought jam) and i also never was a fan of having served sugar for the Tea when you can have local honey that is actually very good. I recommend to the owners to invest more in the breafast exprience with local products.

- Dana-adriana (10/5): Excellent all-round hotel - Very nice and modern hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even when there were public holidays, we still found everything that we needed. They serve a lot of homemade, bio/organic food for breakfast. The hotel is located on a very quiet street, overlooking the mountains and is close to hiking opportunities and the city center. The WiFi was excellent. Thank you, Hotel Monopoly! 10/10
- Naser (8/5): Very good - The location of hotel is not near the center The walking from hotel to center
- Klaudja (10/5): Great -
- Yalon (8/5): Very good - New and comfortable In the shower the is no g oh glass wall, so the water is splashing all over the place.
Breakfast is very poor
- Besi (9/5): Superb - The communication of the staff was polite. The room was very clean and the breakfast was ok. Location. The pillow was not suitable for me but that depends on preferences. Maybe the price should be revised a little.
- Marijke (7/5): Dirk Vergeten - The room was nice and spacious, but we missed the (glass) seperation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom therefore the whole bathroom was wet after taking a shower, making it slippery. There was an over charge upon departure in comparison to the price on Booking.com. After mentioning this there was a refund of LEK600, with a smile but without an explanation and knowledge of English had suddenly evaporared....but honest mistakes can be made....
- Zuzana (10/5): Nice new hotel - Really beautiful and new hotel. Staff is really kind. Breakfast was delicious.
- Georgia (9/5): Fresh new hotel in Great location - The hotel itself felt nice and fresh and new, in a great location a short 5 minute walk to the bazaar market and 10 minute walk into the main part of town. The staff were friendly and helpful, parking downstairs underneath the hotel was handy for us as we had a car. Breakfast was nice simple balkan style. Beds were comfortable and water pressure in bathroom was very good. Coffee at the cafe was excellent as well highly recommend! The air-conditioning unit was placed in a location where the cool air was blocked through to the room due to a cupboard being in the way, perhaps that cupboard could be moved to improve air flow. Air conditioning worked well for the first 3 nights and then stopped working- probably needs to be re-gassed but I'm sure the hotel can fix this easily
- Altin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Albion (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Great Experience at Hotel Monopol - Hotel Monopol is new (3.5 years). It was clean and comfortable. We had a king suite which was spacious and well appointed. The service was exceptional and breakfast was phenomenal. The young man at the front desk was very attentive and provided insightful information. Thank you for a great experience in Peshkopi! The air conditioning did not cool below 25 degrees Celsius and the new refrigerator in the room did not work. It might not have been plugged into the cabinet.
- Andreja (10/5): Exceptional - The new hotel, extreamely clean. The staff were super nice and helpful. The room is super clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast served and good.
Garage below the hotel so the motorcycle was safe.
