• Baxter J. (10/5): Peaceful place with an immaculate garden - A really peaceful escape tucked into nature. Wetland Resort lives up to its name—you’re surrounded by lush greenery, birdlife, and that quiet, slow rhythm that’s getting harder to find. It’s the kind of place where you wake up to natural sounds instead of traffic. The setting is definitely the highlight, and it feels a bit removed from the busier coastal spots, which can be a plus if you’re looking to switch off. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. If you’re after something calm, close to nature, and away from the crowds, this is a solid choice. They didn't know we were coming! When I told them we have a reservation, the staff said, 'No you don't' After a call to the owner or manager they figured out we did.

• Michael (10/5): - The setting is lovely and the staff are brilliant. The pool is crystal clear and clean and the rooms are spacious and clean. The manager of the property is Silva. Silva really makes this place what it is. We loved having a chat to him. We stayed for a night at the start of our trip and one at the end. It is very convenient to the airport. It was very good value for money
• Mariia (4/5): It’s ok to stay 1-2 days, not recommended for long stay - There was really nice pool and area around the pool. There are not many rooms so even if it was 100% occupancy it wouldn’t be crowded. It was quite clean outside, nothing to complain about. Room cleaners - they clean only when you ask to clean + they provide water but they didn’t mention it’s chargeable (4 times more expensive than in a shop)… normally hotels provide basic needs free of charge (at the same time when they clean a room), but not here. When we arrived and saw the pillows that was something I didn’t expect from the hotel… lots of pellets on the pillows and towels they provided for the pool, towels are old and with stains. Bathroom door was not closing fully and making a sound. WiFi and TV didn’t work at all. We complained about it, they fixed a TV, but WiFi they couldn’t fix for 2 days. One of the reason we chose the hotel is a breakfast. There are lots of reviews saying that the breakfast is good. For us it was SAME EVERY DAY (we stayed 5 days). So we had a choice of fried eggs or omelette, then they will serve it with sausage and toasts (butter+jam), fruits and packaged juice that they give in a shot glasses. Only last day of our staying we got a nice Sri Lankan breakfast because other guests complained I think.

• Birgit (8/5): Nettes kleines Hotel in der Nähe des Flughafens mit freudlichem Personal; Pool lud zum Schwimmen ein - Sehr freundliches Personal, Shuttle zum Flughafen war völlig problemlos, selbst spät am Abend. Zimmer war komfortabel und das Bad sauber. Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits, so dass man am Abend nirgends hingehen kann.

Ständig wird gefegt und geachtet, dass alles sauber ist. Das Personal ist sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wünsche wurden umgehend erfüllt. Das empfanden wir als außergewöhnlich. Leider liegt die Anlage sehr abgelegen. Der Strand ist in der Nähe. Man kann jedoch nicht baden und leider ist er an vielen Stellen sehr vermüllt

• Judith & Sybe (9/5): Een fijne plek na een vliegreis met een zalig zwembad! - Een fijne plek met zalig zwembad. Echt behulpzame eigenaars en personeel. Een goede rustige locatie waar je in 10 min wandelen bij een heel schoon rustig strand bent. Op de hoek bij het strand zit een cafetaria en in de staar zit een ayurvedisch centrum. De eigenaars kunnen een boottocht regelen voor naar de mangroves van een paar uur. En vervoer naar een andere plek. Ook goede taxi service vanaf en naar het vliegveld. Ontbijt Sri Lankaans erg lekker. Continentaal kan ook. De plek waar je eet is iets minder gezellig maar je kan ook op je kamer eten. Staat een tafel met stoeien op de kamer. Vooral het zwembad was echt een plus in de maand maart, zo warm, zalig om af te koelen. Kleinigheidjes eerder een paar tips - geen haakjes voor handdoeken, iets gezelligs aan de muur. Pillen van de handdoeken op de rode kussens en rood kleedje op bed (die kunnen er beter vanaf gehaald worden).

Комнаты простые, но удобные, чистые. Кондиционеры есть. Бассейн чистый и теплый. Место тихое. От аэропорта 30 минут на машине. Я предупредил заранее и пришел повар, он приготовил нам обед. Омлет и сендвичи были вполне съедобные. нет блекаут занавесок, поэтому достаточно светло в номере после восхода солнца.

Beautiful family owned hotel that made you feel welcome and comfortable from the minute we arrived. They were most accomodating of supporting us even with a late flight in and we were given the most incredible traditional breakfast which kept us full until dinner. Could not recommend this place more, thanks to much for having us!

Petit bémol pour l’insonorisation des chambres qui fait qu’on entend l’église ou les bruits extérieurs facilement. Mais ce n’est qu’un petit détail si on n’y reste que quelques nuits.

• Mrs Collins (9/5): A restful stop before flying home. - My husband and l spent two nights at Wetland Resort before flying back to the UK. The first postive we noticed was that the hotel was exactly as the photos on Booking.com, which we found quite rare while travelling around Sri Lanka for a month. This is a fairly new small family run hotel adjoining the family home. It's worth considering if you prefer a large estate with pool and bars. The hotel is very smart, clean, and well-maintained. The rooms, including the bathroom, are modern, spacious, and comfortable (two air units) with a shared balcony overlooking the pool. We especially noted a large unit for both cases (one normally ends up on the floor) as in most hotels. The large spotless bathroom had a rain and hand-held shower with plenty of instant hot water. Although another towel rail and bathroom shelf (plenty of space ) would have been a bonus but this is a minor note. Breakfast was the usual Western style but plentiful and sufficient. I do have to mention that all the staff were extremely warm, helpful, and happy to answer any queries. Overall, l would recommend this hotel to family and friends for a restful stop before flying home. The owner can arrange a private transfer to the airport, 30 minutes drive. • A musical bakery tuk-tuk driving around from 5.30am, so will wake up those sensitive to noise. • The pool is very pretty and an ideal temperature, but with a little thought, the space around the pool and ajoining areas could be better utilised with more seating and sun loungers (currently only 4) in place. • To note and be considered, the hotel is in a residential area with very few restaurants or bars nearby by. We did take a tuk-tuk back into Negombo for dinner, which was a very long 30-minute journey each way. You can, of course, eat at the hotel, but this may not suit everyone due to the lack of atmosphere. We chose this option on our second night, which was pleasant, although the food was fine but nothing outstanding. • Again, it's worth considering the hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. The beach is picturesque and deserted but with no facilities.

Silva was an excellent host who gave us good advice on restaurants, experiences etc. we had a great seafood meal in the nearby Dutch Trails and also at The Wetlands Resort. • Achim (8/5): Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt sehr gut geeignet - Sehr schöne Zimmer und auch die gesamte Anlage, inkl. des Pools, des kleinen Hotels ist recht schön. Liegt ein wenig abseits für einen längeren Zeitraum aber für 2-3 Nächte vor allem auch durch die Nähe zum Flughafen. Man muss relativ lange auf das Essen beim Dinner warten.

• Maija (10/5): Perfect reset before heading back home - The rooms were clean and air-conditioned and we really enjoyed the closeness to the pool since we’re a family with a 4-year old. But above all, we were amazed by the hospitality of the staff and owners of the property as they gave gifts to our little daughter, treated us with self made Sri Lankan pastries and even took us on a little ride around the area on our last day. We very much appreciate their kindness and generosity and send blessings to all of them 🙏

Besonders praktisch war, dass man uns sowohl vom Flughafen abgeholt als auch wieder hingebracht hat – perfekt, da wir unsere erste und letzte Nacht wegen der Nähe zum Flughafen dort verbracht haben (ca. 25 Minuten mit dem Auto). Es gibt viele Ablagemöglichkeiten und der schöne Pool lädt wunderbar zum Entspannen ein. Gab es nichts :)

Der Pool war sauber, ebenso die Anlage. Es gab nichts zu beanstanden. Über grünen Tee hätte ich mich gefreut, aber wir hatten unseren eigenen dabei und erhielten heißes Wasser.

Nos ofrecieron alternativas veganas en nuestra estadía lo que se agradece mucho. También nos llevaron a conocer la zona y algunos templos e iglesias emblemáticos, un tour completamente gratis. Son muy amables y atentos. Está un poco alejado de todo, la playa que está cerca no es apta para el baño (casi ninguna playa de esa zona lo es), en la piscina hay poco espacio para estar, tenían problemas con el panel de control de luz de la habitación (las luces se encendían y apagaban solas durante el día y la noche)

Perfect place near airport (less than $10) and a fantastic swimming pool and walking distance from the beach. The Dutch Trails restaurant about a mile away was fantastic. It is quite a way from Negombo but that was not a problem for us.

• Prof. Michael (10/5): Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt - Sehr schöne letzte Tage in diesem ruhigen und angenehmen Resort. Großes schönes Zimmer mit sehr bequemen Bett, guter Dusche und leiser Klimaanlage, Teekocher, Kühlschrank und alles, was man so braucht. Schön angelegtes Gelände mit einem Pool zum Abkühlen und zum Entspannen. Das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich, der Eigentümer zeigte uns sogar bei einer kostenlosen Fahrt einige Sehenswürdigkeiten in der ruhigen Umgebung. Mit viel Liebe wurde zu Weihnachten auch der ganze Außenbereich illuminiert ;-). Wir haben im Resort auch gut gegessen und würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen, zumal auch die Fahrt zum Flughafen bestens organisiert war. Da gab es rein gar nichts.

• Anouk (9/5): - Hotel voor de laatste nacht Sri Lanka, vertrokken vroeg de volgende dag. Mooie kamers, lekker zwembad. Niet veel te doen in omgeving, maar met tuktuk nog wel eea te bekijken. Super lieve en behulpzame mensen. Kreeg de airco niet lager, verder was het echt prima locatie voor laatste nacht, 20 minuten van luchthaven.

Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend nur etwa 10 min zu Fuß vom Strand entfernt. Es hat auch ein kleines Restaurant, mit sehr leckerem Essen. Wir würden es auf jeden Fall wieder buchen. Perfekt um nach einer langen Flugreise zu entspannen oder die letzten Tage in Sri Lanka zu genießen.

Wir haben von Ihnen viele Tipps, eine kurze Führung durch die Gegend und große Gastfreundschaft bekommen. Da es unserer letzter Tag war, wollten wir unbedingt nochmal Arrack probieren und haben gefragt wo wir einen probieren könnten. Abends kamen sie mit einer Flasche vorbei und wir haben ihn zusammen probiert (natürlich umsonst).Das Gleiche auch bei anderen Dingen. Einfach super.

Away from the busier area of Negombo city Being further away from town just meant you had to plan ahead and make a day of going to Negombo city. Other than beach, there isn't much else around the accommodation

Nous avons eu une excellente première impression, malgré notre arrivée tardive nous nous sommes sentis attendus, nous avons pu diner et nous etions seuls dans l'hotel (conséquence du cyclone probablement). La chambre est spacieuse, la salle de bain fonctionnelle et le repas très bon. Pour notre dernière nuit nous n'avons pas du tout ressenti la même chose. Personnel froid, peu disponible. Nous avions une chambre à l'étage, confortable mais avec une odeur désagréable dans la salle de bain. Nous avions des choses à mettre au frais mais le frigo était éteint, nous n'avons donc pas pu l'utiliser. Nous avions besoin d'un transport pour l'aéroport tôt le matin et le prix proposé était exorbitant (5000 LKR alors que nous avons au final payé 1500 LKR en tuk tuk). l'hôtel était complet, cela a peut être impacté le tout.

• Marcel (10/5): - Unser kurzer Aufenthalt nach unserer Ankunft in Sri Lanka war einfach super. Ein tolles, neues Hotel mit hervorragender Lage zwischen dem Flughafen Colombo und Negombo. Was absolut für dieses Hotel spricht, sind die Menschen, die dort arbeiten! Super lieb, freundlich und in jeder Hinsicht hilfsbereit – sei es ein deutlich früherer Check-in, ein Fahrservice zum Restaurant oder Unterstützung bei der Organisation eines PickMe-Fahrers. Darüber hinaus haben sie uns angeboten, sie jederzeit während unseres Aufenthalts anrufen zu können, falls wir Hilfe benötigen würden. Das war wirklich großartig. Für das gesamte Team wünschen wir nur das Beste.

• Marie-Christin (9/5): Schöner Aufenthalt für eine Nacht. - Komfortable Unterkunft, alles sehr sauber. Frühstück und Abendessen wurden sehr individuell zubereitet. 200 meter zum Strand. Etwas außerhalb. Mit PickMe ist es etwas schwierig von dort wegzukommen, lieber direkt die Gastgeber fragen, sie haben mir sofort Transport organisiert. :)
• Katherine (10/5): There is nothing not to love! Stay here and feel very well looked after - The stay here was super from the welcome onwards, what a super place! The room was great, super food and the staff could not have done more to help us! They drove us to where we needed to go, including to meet our son at the airport, very comfortably and very reasonably. I cannot recommend them enough and will for sure stay here when I next visit 😀

• Gerhard (10/5): Es hat alles gepasst. Ich komme bestimmt wieder. - Sehr schöne Anlage. Die Zimmer sind groß und alles ist sauber. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit.
• David (8/5): Super! - Wir waren als Paar hier, es hat uns super gefallen. Leider ein bisschen im nirgendwo, aber das weiß man ja wenn man bucht. Es waren alle sehr sehr freundlich, es war super sauber und wir haben sogar ein kostenloses Upgrade bekommen. Das wlan war nicht gut, was uns bei der Planung unserer weiteren Reise ein bisschen arg behindert hat. Ansonsten aber alles top! :)
• Yousra (10/5): Cozy stay in Negombo - We stayed in WetLand as the cyclone hit and it was the best thing that happened to us!! The owners and the personal were so kind and helpful. They helped us getting there and gave us precious informations for the rest of our vacation. The room was also tidy and clean and they offer some delicious food.
• Lena (10/5): Tolle Unterkunft, ruhige Lage - Geräumige Zimmer, der Transfer vom Flughafen aus hat super funktioniert. Das Essen abends war sehr lecker und das Personal freundlich. Der Poolbereich ist schön angelegt. Wir waren für eine Nacht hier, nachdem wir gelandet sind.
• Margus (10/5): - Väga sõbralik ja abivalmis teenindus. Hommikusöök ja lisaks tellitav söök heal tasemel. Uus hoonete kompleks lennujaama ja pealinna vahel. Hea koht peatumiseks lennule minekuks või tulekuks. Rannaala on ligidal, 5 min jalutamist. Hotelli bassein hea ujumiseks. Asukoht lennujaama lähedal, seega on kuulda õues lennukite maandumist.

• Farida (10/5): Хороший отель 🏨 - Ночевали одну ночь после прилета. Отель чистый, хорошо работал вай фай, кондиционер, вода горячая, чистая постель. Есть чайник, вода.. Помогли с такси, из Негомбо в Бентото.
• Ana Paula (10/5): A friendly, family-run stay with great comfort, relaxing spaces, and truly exceptional hospitality. - We had a lovely stay at this small, family-run hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and equipped with A/C, making it very comfortable. We enjoyed having easy access to the pool and the cute outdoor terrace, which was a perfect spot to relax and have dinner. What made our stay truly special was the owner and his son, who spontaneously offered to take us for a ride to show us around town. Such a friendly and thoughtful gesture! /
