• Karenza (7/5): Good but can be great - View of the river Access to accommodation was easy and well communicated Accommodation close to shops and amenities On road parking not ideal as advert suggests alternate parking is available without reservation would have preferred something safer. Lack of additional bedding, or a heater could have made a difference. Only received notification of bringing additional bedding when en route, we ending up buying a heater as the duvet and the additional throw were very thin. Linen could have been fresher No broom to sweep facilty Lack of lighting toward the accommodation in the evening was concerning especially having to navigate the steps in the dark

• Matthys (10/5): A peaceful and scenic stay, made memorable by the exceptional river views and bird life. - Bergriver Nest is exceptionally well located. The views over the river are truly something special and create a calm, relaxing atmosphere that’s hard to beat. The area itself is peaceful, well-positioned, and ideal for anyone looking to unwind while still being close enough to key spots in Velddrif and surrounding areas. If you enjoy being near the water, fishing spots, or simply appreciate a scenic setting, this location really delivers. It’s one of those places where the surroundings alone make the stay worthwhile. The sunsets over the river are spectacular, with rich colours reflecting off the water and creating a truly memorable atmosphere. Early mornings are just as special, offering peaceful, crisp views with soft light rising over the river to start the day perfectly.
• Johann (5/5): Lovely views, clean bedding but limited /cheap cutlery not suited for such a place. - n/a The stairs that allow access. Narrow passage and it was not mentioned at all in ad. We are elderly and my wife has difficulty with walking thus the stairs limited our ability to go around as we would have liked to do. The property is still in the restoration phase with half the power outlets not working. It is clear that the owner wants to improve and we wish him luck.

• Demari (10/5): Weskus Gem❤️ - This is an absolute gem if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Everything you need is there, clean and functional. The previous reviews said that they missed that there is no microwave, but it is really not needed. The views are spectacular and having breakfast/dinner at the outside table was amazing. My husband sat on the jetty and caught some steenbras, whilst I watched from relaxing in the hammock. This is absolutely worth every cent and we will be returning

• Michelle (10/5): - The host was very attentive. Exceptional view and amazing sunset. We had a great time. Will definitely visit again in the future. Maybe just have a look at the side gate where you enter. Was a bit of a struggle to lock the gate to the inside. Otherwise I cannot fault.

• Natalie (10/5): Tolle Lage, schönes Appartement direkt am Wasser - herrlich zum entspannen - Schöne Unterkunft mit toller Aussicht und Veranda, direkt am Wasser. Schon im Vorfeld war ich top informiert, die Kommunikation mit den freundlichen Besitzern klappte super! Dafür vielen Dank! Ich habe mich sofort wohl gefühlt. Das Appartment sieht genauso aus wie auf den Bildern. Es war sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Besonders die Hängematte fand ich klasse. (Es gibt keinen TV und wifi, braucht man hier auch nicht) Großartig fand ich die Beigaben Hug in a mug cappuccino, Milch und: sogar eine gute Flasche Rotwein! Wow! Auch die Restaurantempfehlung Charlie's Brewhouse war ein Volltreffer! Dieses ist gemütlich bei einem schönen Spaziergang in ca 15min zu Fuss zur erreichen. Ich war leider nur für 1 Nacht da, habe meinen Aufenthalt aber trotzdem sehr genossen und mich herrlich entspannt! Vielen Dank für alles, ich kann die Unterkunft nur empfehlen. N/A

The place was clean, all pictures on the website were perfectly replicated, and it was a reality.What was advertised was what you received. The river views, sunsets, early boats on the Lagoon, peaceful braais , is soul food! We loved the hammock and direct access to the river as well as the private jetty. Kitchen well equipped, braai facilities, clean bedding and bathroom. Loved the personal touch of the bottle of wine as a welcome gift, the chocolates & the complimentary tea & coffee. The airfryer is a definite bonus as well. Will undoubtedly be back & have already recommended it to family, friends & even work colleagues. Our hosts kept in regular contact, checking in, which we appreciated. We had their contact details, should we have required it, which made us feel safe. Warm, friendly disposition No microwave , although we knew this beforehand. Two lounger chairs to relax in would be great! Plug for hairdryer
