Guest Reviews
- Bronwyn (2/5): Over priced and horrible - The apartment was clean We paid an inflated price of $318 for ONE night because it was all that was available for the date we needed for Echuca. It was a booking for three adults.
There was only two coffee cups in the kitchen. We had to empty the sugar bowl to use as a third cup.
What accommodation in our present time does not provide free wifi especially for the price we paid.
The lounge looked like something picked up off a street throw out pile and again there was three of us, but a kitchen chair had been provided in the lounge room so I guess management thought that would do.
The lighting in the first bedroom was dull and ineffective. All we had was the bedside table lamp.
No hooks in the bathroom to hang anything on.
The apartment is not close to Echuca Hotel, so if you’re foolish enough to book this place, don’t think you can leave your car in the hotel car park.
You have to park out on the street and hope your vehicle will still be there next morning.
We are seasoned travellers and have never stayed in such awful accommodation in all our travels.
- Druvi (7/5): Not bad, could have been better - Loved the location in central echuca, room was decent, had A/C, basic amenties, light was weak, Too noisy maybe more sound proof windows. Green light on the roof is irritating,
- Heidi (2/5): Below average wouldn’t recommend - Location was great, bed was comfy Shared bathrooms that don’t get cleaned during your stay and mouldy and decaying food in the fridge that hasn’t been cleaned in months.
- Mark (7/5): - Cleanliness of the room was great.
Size was more than enough
Bathroom facilities was good Access and entry was cumbersome
- Keely (10/5): -
- Sebastian (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (6/5): - Great location and very reasonably priced Despite having some really great potentially with the hotel, it seemed to really miss the mark on a couple of things.
The room and bathroom were both dirty, the bathroom also wasn't cleaned at any time which for a multi night stay with a shared bathroom seems poor. Shower was broken and there was also a super bright green emergency light on the ceiling of the room which we couldn't turn off. Made it really hard to sleep.
The light bulb in our room also needed to be changed as it was not bright enough to give off any light at all.
- Gayleen (7/5): - Small fridge in room for personal use
- Foster (2/5): -
- Benita (8/5): -
- Jessie (7/5): - Great value for great location and superb clean room and comfy bed. Couldn't ask for much more
- Welch (8/5): - In the middle Echuca, easy to get to everything on foot Noisy pubs and cars dragging down the main street. Having to park the car on the street.
- Dean (10/5): Ark amazing - Everything. Perfect 👌 Having to leave
- Adam (9/5): - Excellent value, tidy bathrooms, comfy bed, great staff
- Nicola (10/5): Would love to come back!! - What an amazing old building.. Brilliant air con.. Just loved it.. The guy in room 2 was noisy, till midnight.. But no fault of ark
- Naomi (10/5): - Absolutely value for money, clean and surprisingly quiet accommodation.
- Kate (7/5): -
- Teresa (8/5): I can't fault it, I had a comfortable stay, it suited my needs. - The historical Palace Hotel building with timber floor boards, very high ceilings, and stunning huge windows (that open), together with the modern art styling, made this accom' an outstanding winner to me. The smoke alarm's green light.
- Christine (3/5): -
- Brett (9/5): Just what I needed. - Great location. Clean and comfortable. Value for money. Odd rear access via bottle shop alley.
- Jessica (10/5): Quiet retreat in the heart of Echuca - Private and quiet, room was crispy cold when I arrived, everything you could need for one person, no frills. The shower head wouldn’t stay up, but that could be user error 😂 I tried everything hahaha
- Andrew (8/5): -
- paul (7/5): - The apartment No wheelchair access
- Kathy (10/5): -
- Lambertus (1/5): No promised private bathroom in awful budget hotel - Clean bed Everything else: we got a shared bathroom as per Booking.com but it needed to be shared with another room. That room was not booked but other guests still used that bathroom, and it wasn't clean.
Fridge in communal kitchen was 100% full, obviously not cleaned out for a long time.
Lights in the room pretty much non-existent as you couldn't even read with it. Smoke detection green light so bright the room was not dark during the night.
Hotel manager not answering the phone for half an hour, although we were assisted later but didn't get a better room.
Shower head was broken too.
Awful experience, we checked out 1 night earlier.
- Coleman (7/5): - It was close to everything and great for somewhere to rest refresh and just be Stairs but that's my age and disability not the property
- Andy (8/5): Good value for money - Great property with basic facilities neat clean and tidy All good
- Andy (8/5): Great value for money - Good property neat clean and tidy All good
- Janet (10/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Short but sweet - Great central location
- Nick (6/5): - It was a good central location and the room was simple but clean. There was a very bright and annoying emergency light in the ceiling of the room which couldn't be turned off and made the room too bright when trying to sleep. The room was also too close to the kitchen and it was easy to hear and smell other guests cooking meals late at night after 11pm when I was in bed.
- Leah (6/5): - I could hear word for word every conversation in the apartment next door
- Linzi (5/5): - Clean and cheap Above the bottle-o. Stair access could be problematic for some guests.
- Lynne (1/5): Nice apartments but the street noise made it impossible to sleep - Spacious clean comfortable bed The noise at night until 2am from the hotel across the road
- Gomdenn (8/5): - Location and price There was a typical smell in the room and I did not open the window because there was no flyscreen. The light was also not working but there was a table lamp.
- Majawk (8/5): - Great location and it was very clean The light in the room didn't really work, only a small lamp worked and it was very dark in the evening
- Jessica (5/5): -
- Thomas (7/5): -
- Adam (9/5): -
- Zamie (6/5): - The room was nice. Location is short walk to town. You have to get keys from another location, then enter the building through a little alley way with bins etc behind the bottleshop. The shared kitchen had stuff piled everywhere. Nothing is put away. There is also a funny area with beanbags just piled up between the room and kitchen. Fridge was fully loaded and nothing labelled. Shared bathroom was fine, but there was no indication on outside if it was in use or if the door was just closed. The shower and toilet are in the one room.
- Adam (9/5): - Cheap and nice rooms!
- Guest (1/5): -
- Judi (4/5): Comfortable bed, poor access, dirty bathroom and kitchen. In great position though. - Property was in great location. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very dirty - overflowing bin with soiled feminine products, dirty shower, unable to adjust shower height, no toilet paper, kitchen was dirty with no bin. Access to rooms was a little odd entering via rear staircase behind bottle shop when photo as advertised was not even the building we stayed in.
- Julie (9/5): -
- Ibrahim (6/5): Good for price - Clean No tv
- jared (10/5): Worth it! - ohhh... I like the room, very demure, very classical, very lit, it was way better than the room I went before in there sister company, it was very perfct for solo traveler or if ur going for a business or with a frnd or a couple. Very nice, good location and just close to town. Very recommending. Though I like my room because it was in the 2nd floor, though if u want to see the view go outside because the windown is like covered in white but thats fine I know maybe thats the way it was built before. By the way, when I arrive at the apartment and use the bathroom, the bin was very full that it makes overflowing of some packs of noodles and etc., I reckoned maybe it was the other roommate, because their bathroom is shareable by 2 people, but maybe if only someone prepare my room before I came they also check the bathroom or maybe at that time theyre preparing my room someone is using the room. So understandable but maybe next time they need to make sure everything is well. Thats all. Thank you.
- Meredith (8/5): Excellent value for money, great location, clean and pleasant basic room. -
- Jo (7/5): Comfy, clean, central in vibrant street. - The apartment was centrally located which made it easily accessible to facilities and attractions. But I guess we didn't count on the fact that across the road was a lively hotel popular with young people. It didn't bother me much, but older people in our group weren't as patient. Lol.
The apartment was clean, beds were extremely comfy. Enough towels, pillows etc. The only thing that lacked was a bit of generosity/hospitality in the kitchen. Simple things like even some little UHT milks in the fridge. There was tea and coffee but couldn't avail ourselves of it as no milk. We were only there one night - we weren't prepared to buy milk just for one morning. These little touches make it more hospitable.
Also the fan in the front bedroom was not working. It was a warm day when we stayed and having air circulating would have made it more comfy. Despite contacting the property, didn't really receive a resolution.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Luke (8/5): -
- Marcus (10/5): - The appartment was great located in the heart of Echuca , with bakeries , pubs and restaurants in walking distance .
- Sonja (1/5): Unless you’re backpacking don’t stay here. It’s not an apartment it’s one room shared facility - Online it look great, like a converted country pub but in reality it was a delux backpacker accommodation It wasn’t a 1 bedroom apartment….it was a room with no bathroom, TV etc online is very misleading. Asked for a refund as I never used room and just but now answer.
- Diane (9/5): It was fun to stay in a refurbished apartment in an historic building in the centre of town - Historic, spacious, immaculate, bright and airy. Nothing
- Philipa (8/5): - The location was great, very central. The staff were very obliging and able to help with dropping the key off early for pickup due to arriving to the room very late due to an event that day.
- Jazmyn (1/5): - Nothing at all the key card used for the front door same for all the bedrooms so Ur stuff can be stolen at anytime and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting weren't clean at all and the shower head fell off while I was having a shower and they was no bins available at all except for a tiny one in the bathroom that's was already full and the window was also broken so couldn't even open it for fresh air will not recommend to anyone
- Kaz (7/5): - Location was ideal, very central with most things in walking distance. Room small and basic (no TV or ensuite) but clean with access to a kitchen and TV/dining area. However the green electronic light above the bed in the ceiling was piercingly bright and lit up the room, not great for anyone who is light sensitive at night.
- Brianna (9/5): -
- Shane (8/5): -
- Munnik (7/5): Pleasant - Size of the apartment Looked like it wasn’t quite ready for guests
- Sophie (10/5): -
- Courtney (9/5): - the location and the room
- Julie (10/5): Loved it and will stay again. - Lots of room. Fantastic location. Clean and spacious. Will definitely stay again. Great value.
- Anna (10/5): Clean, well serviced, great location and wonderful manager. - Accessible, great facilities, central location, superb manager: Carmen.
Look forward to staying there again.
- Marina (9/5): Fantastic accomodation awesome communication. - Great location with a walk to everything. Well fitted out and fantastic Manager A little noisy near the pub
- mark (9/5): -
- Peter (7/5): It was OK - The location was very good, the rooms were very spacious, and bed comfy, and it was clean Wifi was very slow, there was only one coffee stick in the container, I think the cleaner forgot to top it up.
There was a long term apartment section, so it didn't have a travelling feel.
There were no staff on site, you pick up the key from a nearby hotel,
- Michelle (8/5): Will definitely stay again. - Very comfortable & modern. Great location, walk to everything. Felt very secure & safe. Nice & warm with the central heating. Large shower & pressure was great. Good TV reception including smart TV options. Being an older building with single glazed windows, you do get some road noise, so I did need ear plugs. May not be a problem for others, but I’m a light sleeper.
- Jules (9/5): Superb -
- Eleanor (10/5): Loved it, lovely old building, quiet and great windows and light. - Open clean place with nice views, great shower. The bedclothes were only ok, not great. The kitchen was fine but I didn't feel that I could cook much as there wasn't a frying pan, saucepan etc,. But fine for an overnight stay.
- Peter (8/5): Great place to stay - top location - Location, Good value Bed was so soft and ended up being quite uncomfortable
- Burch (9/5): Superb -
- E (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (5/5): Passable - The space was clean and airy, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good. We were disappointed with the non supply of what would be expected, no milk, no tea towel or kitchen towel we had to use bathroom towels, only 1 fork.
The location is very noisy of a night, the streets are used for hoons driving the city block with noisy cars into the early hours of the morning.
- Steve (7/5): we really enjoyed our quick visit, we would stay again in the future - the building , location and renovated rooms were fantastic
plenty of space and generally well equipped, however some little things were missing which would have made the place exceptional. (see below) It seems that the place was fairly new or recently renovated and maybe this is why a few essentials were missing. Examples: no hair dryer, needed more towel racks or a couple of hooks on the back of the door in bathroom, there was really nowhere to hang towels after showering, no coffee plunger or pod machine, (although a few instant coffee sachets were supplied) a space for a dishwasher..... but not installed (not a problem for an overnight stay but as the place is well suited to long stays this would be really nice to have. Only one room had a mirror, no storage or shelves in bedrooms. all little improvements but they would make a big difference.
The biggest negative by far was the very noisy A/C unit in the cavity between buildings that ran all night. The front street side bedroom was very quiet, the back bedroom was almost unusable due to the noise, this should really be addressed in my opinion
- Robyn (9/5): Superb -
- Philippa (3/5): Poor - This apartment was very basic.
The check-in proceedor was terrible, Sent to another hotel quite a distance away to get key, then very difficult to find entrance doorway. No assistance, no one answered their phone.
Terrible bedding.
I would never stay again, choose somewhere else in Echuca. Access extremely difficult, parking not good.
Bedding terrible- cheap sheets, pillows like rocks.
- Manfred (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): excellent place, just did not deliver for the price. Needs to improve for price or drop price. - Love the renovation and the old style. Heigh ceilings were excellent. Floor Boards.
Kegs for bed side tables were great idea, as old pub. Price was to expensive for what you got. No cupboards or tables in room to put your gear. Small cupboard in bathroom.
one TV, but was big. Should have been TV in bedrooms (both).
Plain kitchen does not match apartment for price and audience.
Only one bathroom for price.
Couch could have been better for price.
- Jacky (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caterina (7/5): Good -
- Evelyn (10/5): Exceptional - Great apartment, great location, clean, and fresh
- Chris (10/5): Thanks heaps Carmen for your hospitality, happy New Year 2025! -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Garro (8/5): Classy, convenient AND comfortable - Freshly renovated, spacious, VERY convenient, very clean Because of it’s convenient location, the downside is the noise from the road, mowing early in the morning at the church next door
- Tania (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, comfortable and in great location
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (7/5): Lovely just not a fair of location if you have kids or want to sleep haha - Loved how clean it was and it was stunning in appearance I only didn’t like it was across from a busy hotel as I have a 1 year old and it kept her and us up all night. I didn’t realise the location
- Geoff (10/5): Very well appointed residence -
- Louis (9/5): Superb - Location was really good accommodation was really good. Ark Apartments need to make your sign a lot clearer to locate apartments easily
- Csel (7/5): The apartment was very good overall. - The apartment was large, light and airy, with a very good bathroom. The kitchen was well appointed too. Wardrobes to hang clothes would have been helpful. One bedroom was very noisy because there is no double glazing and there is a loud music venue opposite.
- Michelle (9/5): Very nice apartment convieniently located clean bed was very comfortable bathroom was very small - Beautiful clean well appointed apartment. Bed was a 10/10 in comfort. The bathroom was very clean but small. No space for personal items on the vanity but lovely Everything but the bathroom size
- Anthony (7/5): The apartment was really good helpfulness wasn’t and the open stink pipe in cupboard was third world - Great apartment clean lots of room good facilities Under the bench in a cupboard was an open pipe that stank you could smell it every time you went to the sink. I also asked for the wifi code and the person I spoke to gave it to me but it didn’t work so I called back just for them to txt it to me I never got a response
- Wendy (7/5): Very pleasant and comfortable - A lovely property well situated although the pub across the road could be heard, but did not overly disturb us. Easy walk to the Main Street, but we had to move our car due to parking restrictions . Bec at the Echuca hotel was very helpful at key pick up and offered car parking behind the pub. Echuca itself is a great spot and thoroughly enjoyed our stay We only drink tea and 4 teabags was a bit mean for a two night stay. The microwave located on top of the fridge is totally impractical, and potentially dangerous when moving hot liquids. A suggestion also to have a lock on the door that doesn’t involve leaving the key in the lock? There was a random exposed wire hanging down from the ceiling in the living room? Overall an enjoyable stay, would still recommend👍
