• Janice (7/5): Good location, comfortable and friendly - This hotel is cheap by London prices and cheerful. Staff friendly and breakfast good. Beds were comfy and plenty of hot water. The location is ideal for central london. Pleasant half hour walk across Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace. Decor is dated and tired, so don't expect modern decor. Could do with a refurb.

• Stephen (7/5): Would not recommend, facilities are very tired and small. - The staff were friendly and accommodating The Parkwood is very tired, small and needs a lot of work. It is very much in the condition that it was in the 1960’s.

• Jane (8/5): Comfortable but dated. - Loved the area, view from the bedroom and very friendly helpful staff. Poor state of decor and shabby, hair covered carpets. We were on 3rd floor so maybe difficult to get a vacuum up there. Shower was also very dated and no pressure flow. Finally the occupants above us woke us up both mornings at 6am walking around on creaky floorboards and went on until breakfast time!!

• Laidler (9/5): Location location - The hotel is a small older style hotel and the location is excellent and very convenient to the hop on hop of buses and Hyde Park. Staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. The decor is a bit dated ans the room quirky but that added to the charm. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot which are the most important things to us.

• nicoletta (2/5): buona posizione e basta - posizione, vicinanza al parco letto alla francese, abbastanza comodo colazione all'inglese e continentale standad hotel catalogato 3 stelle, ma decisamente sopravalutato, vale 2 stelle camera: non ci si muoveva in 1 persona figurarsi in 2 e non c'era una sedia ridotte dosi di bustine te e caffè (le capsule del latte erano scadute) serramenti che non chiudono, porte scorrevoli parzialmente bloccate, cavi volanti, dubbia sicurezza elettrica phon in camera perché in bagno non ci sono prese nel bagno cieco non funziona aspiratore e il box doccia ha la tenda perché si sono rotte le ante scorrevoli, finestra che non sta aperta, serramenti rovinati con spifferi, porte che non sono a prova di fuoco nel seminterrato locale colazione e cucina senza cappa aspirante così tutti gli odori del fritto salgono dalla tromba delle scale e arrivano nelle camere. il pane tostato scadente, confezioni di marmellata non rifornite, il locale non dà l'impressione di essere pulito, superfici appiccicose .... pavimenti assai irregolari, avvallamenti coperti da moquette o linoleum che ha visto tempi migliori sembra (o è?) una casa privata adattata ad hotel; poteva andare bene 40 anni fa, ma non oggi.

Todella ystävällinen palvelu, saatiin huonekin jo puolen päivän aikaan mikä oli mukavaa kun oltiin jo aamukolmen aikaan herätty.. ☺️ Huone oli siisti mutta hieman kulahtanut ja hotelli muutenkin peruskorjauksen tarpeessa. Aamiaiselle olisin kaivannut hieman vaihtelua.

• Christiane (5/5): - Extrem gute Lage als Ausgangspunkt für alle Unternehmungen in London. Das Bett war sauber und es gab täglich frische Handtücher. Gutes frisch zubereitetes englisches Frühstück. Das Zimmer war im obersten 4. Stock nur über eine enge Wendeltreppe zu erreichen. War mit Gepäck äußerst schwierig. Es war scheinbar renoviert aber sehr schlecht gemacht. Man hatte das Gefühl auf dem Dachboden zu wohnen.

Lugn gata men ändå nära till allt som tex Hyde Park, Oxford street med shopping, restauranger, bussar o t-bana precis i närområdet Äldre enkel standard men ordning o reda o rent och snyggt. Enkel typisk brittisk frukost med varm mat, toast men också yoghurt o flingor. Funkade bra för oss 2 vuxna & 2 tonårsbarn. Trevlig personal. Obs saknar hiss!! Inget för den som har svårt att gå. Badrummen behöver uppdateras. Vi fick tex inte tända lampan vid spegel i badrummet pga elsäkerhet.. Funkade men…
• Denis (5/5): Emplacement excellent - Les lits confortables c'était la seule chose de bien. Il n'y a pas grand à en dire. L'emplacement est en plein centre. Le mobilier branlant, vétuste. Propreté motenne. Petit déjeuner correcte sous sur veillance pour ne pas trod consommer. Salle de bain exigüe et pas nickel.

• Elaine (3/5): Good location but I wouldn't stay there again. - What made my score poor was that the owners suggested the basement room, as it avoided three flights of stairs to the room originally allocated to me. It was fine for my one night stay. What they omitted to tell me was that the room was above the underground line which rumbled along for most of the night, so I got almost no sleep. Everything else was ok. The place was a little tired, but clean. Good breakfast. It was noisy at night.
• Wolfgang (7/5): Renovierung! Dann eine Top Adresse! - Personal absolut Klasse! Frühstück und Hotel klassisch Englisch, Lage perfekt!! Die Zimmer entsprechen in den oberen Etagen aber in keinster Weise der heutigen Zeit und bedürfen dringend einer Sanierung! Alles andere,wie oben beschrieben ,macht das Hotel zu einem guten Anlaufpunkt,auf Grund der Zimmerqualität aber etwas zu teuer.Wachbecken im Bad hat eine Größe,die nur zum Händewaschen reicht. Betten sind top!! Die Freundlichkeit und persönliche Umgangsform des Personals war Extraordinary!!

Rummen var slitna, smutsiga och dåligt underhållna, och värmen fungerade inte vilket gjorde det väldigt kallt under vistelsen. Sängarna var obekväma med slitna madrasser som kändes nedsjunkna och riskerade att ge ryggont.Trots att vi kontaktade receptionen angående problemen fick vi ingen hjälp, vilket gör att jag tyvärr inte kan rekommendera detta boende.

• Cris (6/5): - La ubicación era inmejorable y las camas muy cómodas. El precio estaba bastante bien e incluía desayuno; este no era muy variado pero suficiente para comenzar el día. En las fotos el hotel parecía más nuevo, sin embargo allí se veía todo claramente más viejo. No había ascensor y al principio nos daban habitación en la segunda planta pero luego nos dijeron que en otra y era la tercera. En la ducha salía muy poca agua, lo cual me dificultó muchísimo lavarme el pelo.

Note: my room (Rm 5) filled with the smell of cooking bacon at about 6am, which is great for me, but might be a bit of a downer for any vegans out there... Whilst clean and tidy, the bathroom really needed some TLC. A bit tired and overdue a refurb; but it didn't detract from teh overall VFM this place represents right on Marble Arch.

• Glynn (8/5): Great value for the price. Very nice accessible location, friendly and welcoming staff. Can’t really go wrong. - It is in a great location, not too far from Paddington station and then not too far from the nearest tube onto the central line. It sits right across from Hyde Park on a seconded side street. I had the room in the gods, so as long as you don’t mind a lot of steps upwards then the room is far any street noise, and was a pleasant little room (Room 15). The staff were all super friendly, every engagement came with a smile and welcome greeting. Lovely. I didn’t mind the bed, it was quite hard, so if you prefer a softer bed then you may be disappointed. For the price and the location I don’t think it is fair to say anything I didn’t like to be fair. Great value.

I really recommend it for a short weekend city breaks :) Nothing to complain - The hotel is in old building and might be refreshed, however I took it as it is and it's not a reason for me to any complain. It has a nice climate rooms are very clean - I liked it.

• Ivan (7/5): Struttura datata, colazione pessima ma posizione molto strategica. - Ottima posizione. Vicinissima ad Hide Park, metro e bus! Silenziosa in quanto in una via secondaria ma molto prossima al corso principale Struttura vecchia. Lavandino in camera anziché in bagno. La doccia avrà avuto 30 anni. Acqua che usciva da ogni parte e porte della doccia mezze scassate. La prima notte il riscaldamento non funzionava (o meglio, essendo l’unico ospite, a mio avviso non avevano acceso) e la struttura mi ha fornito una stufetta da bagno. Colazione assolutamente discreta. Il primo giorno, a detta dell’inserviente, essendo unico ospite, ci sarebbe stata poca roba. Il secondo giorno, tre ospiti in più, c’erano solamente le uova strapazzate in aggiunta. Il pavimento del locale “ristorante”, disconnesso.

• Karen (3/5): - Excellent position. Very quiet. We have stayed in this hotel before and there is a significant down turn. In our bedroom- Double socket plug had failed test was not allowed to be used. Light over Bathroom basin was not allowed to be used. Masses of wires hanging down outside the window with the TV areal coming through the window into the room. It felt unclean and the hotel had a general smell. The shower was a dribble and the water was luke warm at 8am. We will go back when there are improvements.
