Guest Reviews
- Anastasiya (10/5): Amazing! - I was staying at Jhigu home for a week during my vacation. Absolutely love this area of old Patan.
If you stay there you should wake up early and go to roam on the narrow streets and enjoy amazing Patan Durbar square which is only 2-3 min away.
The room was perfectly clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Shower always had hot water and you can also use kitchen if you want to cook smth.
And what’s most important for me - it was very calm and quiet during the night - one of the very few places around Nepal where I could sleep without my earplugs.
Thank you so much Prinsha and Eric for such a perfect room and house
I’d definitely like to stay again for my future trips to Nepal

- IKUYO (7/5): Old culturally house is creating by people’s conscious. - Hosts are lovely people. We found them beautiful future. We hope they are keeping improving their warmest host service. Traveler might keep on coming to them however wish to not been lazy always to touch them heart so that it will be beautiful. Only the toilet and shower facilities are out of room. We expect that in it inside of our room from that much price. Common toilet and shower we expect more reasonable. Such as 500rp cheaper than now.

- Marco (10/5): - comfortable little room behind the museum garden, very relaxing and peaceful stay close to the busy Patan Durbar square.
Suitable for a solo traveller looking for some peace with local amenities and accessibility to the greater city.
- Patricia (10/5): 10/10 - Eric’s place was cosy, comfortable and very very clean. The location was perfect, just two minutes away from all the beauty of Patan. But the best of our stay was Eric welcoming us, he taught us so much about his culture and even show us around. We strongly recommend his home :)

- Stefan (10/5): Authentic and warm stay in the heart of Patan - We had an incredible stay at Jhigu Homestay and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and comfortable experience in Kathmandu.
The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to share insights into Nepalese culture, traditions, and food—especially the unique aspects of the Newari community. Their warm hospitality made us feel like home.
The room and shared bathroom were sparkling clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. Despite being a shared bathroom, it was always available and immaculately maintained, so it was never an issue.
The location is perfect—right in the heart of Patan, only few footsteps away from the magnificient Durbar Square. It offers a more authentic experience compared to standard tourist accommodations, yet it’s still central and peaceful, away from the noise and overpriced shops of typical trekking hubs. We slept super well, as it is located in a calm little side alley and there is no noise at all (not typical for downtown Kathmandu!)
A nice add on of our stay was meeting the host’s brother, who is a trekking guide. We had the pleasure of hiking around Kathmandu with him, which was an amazing and unexpected addition to our trip.
We also appreciated that they offer activities like food tours and cooking classes, which added a rich cultural element to our stay.
We loved our time here so much that we will definitely return. Jhigu Homestay is a gem, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu.
- Moritz (10/5): Friendly, clean, heartfull place to stay ! - Aarik and his wife are super friendly and polite. They for sure know how to make people happy. Aarik helped us with so many things, we are very thankful that we stayed in his place.
- M (10/5): Exceptional - Homestay as described, my room was simple but had all the essentials. The accommodation is located a few steps from Durbar square, in a quiet street, which is perfect. Everyone is very friendly and available if you need any advice about your stay.
