- jan10e (9/5): Mountain Manor revisited - Our second stay in Mountain Manor. This time we stayed in the cabin. The view is great. Pool is quite big. Breakfast has some choices wich are all nice and tastfull. We new it is about 20 minutes drive to town for dinner or sightseeing but main road is well maintained. And surrounding mountains are beautifull. Friendly staff and personal attention. The steps down to the bathroom are huge. The cabin is not suitable if you have problems to walk or with balance.
- Kyle (7/5): A beautiful night in a lovely location with great hosts - Stunning location, very comfortable bed, very clean room, very friendly host Bathroom facilities very old and difficult to use, Not enough information given prior to check-in (when our cell signal cut, the location provided lead to a locked gate and no instructions or code was provided prior to checkin, although the hosts were very accommodating thereafter)
- Hamid (10/5): Will definitely be back! - Stunning view
Wonderful host and Milo her dog who took us for a guided tour of the farm
Pity we only booked for one night
- Pieter (10/5): -
- Fritz (10/5): - Everything about the place
- Daniella (9/5): We'll be Back - Friendly hostess, beautiful surroundings and comfortable room with all you need.
- Melissa (9/5): Charming Tulbagh Farmhouse - great for groups or families. Stunning views! - The true to old Dutch architecture to create a farmhouse effect. Lovely stay with a group of friends! The hostess was absolutely lovely and accommodated to our requests 10/10. The swimming pool was so welcomed on the hot day. We wish we had stayed longer :(

The owner was incredibly friendly and thoughtful, going above and beyond throughout our visit. The setting was peaceful, the views were beautiful, and the entire experience felt like the ultimate escape and rest away from home.
- Reece (9/5): Great accommodation and very relaxing! -
- Maryke (10/5): Serene beautiful stay in the mountains - Very friendly hostess, beautiful pool and room. At night there were 2 owls hooting in the tree next to my room, with the sound of frogs and beautiful stars it was mesmerizing. There's a short walk down to a dam also with stunning sunset views. Location is about 10 min out of town but such an easy drive. I loved it all!
- NEIL (8/5): - Loved the location.
The views were stunning
Loved the pool facilities
- Van Niekerk (8/5): - Beautiful scenery, lovely location, pool was the star of the show, host was the nicest person we have ever met, extremely helpful and generous in every regard. The only let down for us was the cleanliness of the rooms, to many spider webs on the roof and dust all over. Our room needed a nice spring proper spring clean. The toilet basin, shower and bath need a proper good freshen up and good service. But don't let this put you off, the. Rest of the place is absolutely brilliant
- Francois (10/5): Super !
- Aina (9/5): -
- Madelize (10/5): - Everything was Amazing.
- Sonnette (9/5): If you want to relax, this is the place. The owls were a highlight - Exceptional. The view is a WOWWW. Breakfast is a must! Two days in a row None
- Hans (8/5): We had an enjoyable stay - happy to recommend to friends. - The breakfast was excellent.
We enjoyed the morning walk together with Milo the dog, and the swim afterwards.
Mirna was extremley helpful with accommodating us after it turned out that we had our booking date wrong - big relief!
- Philip (10/5): Beyond all our expectations in evert aspect. - Fabulous place to stay. Mirna, our host, was exceptional in her helpfulness and went the extra mile all the time.
The accommodation was superb and went far beyond our expectations. Perhaps a little more light in the rooms would have been nice. But not a serious complaint.
- Yusuf (6/5): Family road trip - Excellent location with beautiful views.
Poolside tables and breakfast area was great Pool was unusable with algae growing on all surfaces. Garden furniture outside the cottage was tatty and dirty and uncomfortable to use. Bathroom lacking mirror and hooks, and limited plug points in the bedroom. No remote controller for the room AC
- Von Willingh (10/5): A wonderfully comfortable and convenient stay with a warm hostess and a delicious breakfast. - I needed a place to stay for my cousin’s wedding in Tulbagh, and Mountain Manor was absolutely perfect. It was so close to the venue, incredibly convenient, and wonderfully comfortable. The hostess was exceptionally friendly and made me feel so welcome. I also really enjoyed the breakfast — such a great start to the day! Highly recommend this lovely spot.

The room was beautifully furnished and the host, Myrna was very friendly and helpful - would definitely return if in the area again.Lorraine from the UK There was nothing to dislike
- Andy (7/5): Satisfactory accomodation although railway wash basins not user friendly. - Breakfast not included. Signage needed to be more visible.
- Linda (9/5): Loved staying here! Such a special place with the most wonderful host! Felt so welcome and at home. Stunning location, b - Stunning setting, beautiful room, warm welcome and amazing host! 🎉 Homely, authentic, clean, welcoming and incredible setting! Those views!
- shaun (9/5): Mountain Manor - Beautiful location. Very friendly owner. Loved our stay there. Nothing
- Johanna (9/5): -
- Carvill (10/5): Very Relaxing with an excellent host who provided good advice on what to do and see in Tulbagh - Breakfast although not included with rate was very good. Fresh produce and good service. Coffee was excellent.
Rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space. Good bathroom with plenty of hot water. Furniture was all antiques and well matched. Nothing
- Botha (10/5): -
- Sanel (8/5): Beautiful getaway in nature - Absolutely stunning location. It is nestled on a farm with an amazing view over the valley. Not far from Tulbagh where you can enjoy lunch of dinner. Very friendly and accommodating host. Loved the dog!
- Pillay (9/5): -
- Kirsty (10/5): Overnight stay - We loved the stay. Pity it was only overnight. Mirna, the host is amazing and very welcoming. We were upgraded on arrival, what a bonus. Milo the dog took us for a walk around the fields and pond. A small plumbing problem but nothing annoying
- Roux (7/5): The property isn't suitable for elderly people or anyone with mobility issues. The view is super. -
- Charné (10/5): -
- Debbie (10/5): A great place to stay . - Beautiful location and a lovely spacious house
- Sandeep (8/5): -
- Ingrid (8/5): Happy returning guests - Beautiful scenery, view
. Exceptional bedding.
The bathroom has a spacious shower and corner spa bath. Reaaaallllyyyy a girl's dream.
Nice big rooms with a lot of windows. Really a beautiful place. The door didn't have curtains or block-outs, that's about all. Rest were perfect.
- Elsebi (1/5): Terrible - Only the location. However the pictures are totally misleading. Place needs serious cleaning and attention. Dirty and was left totally alone on the property without any proper security measures.
- Johan (10/5): Great escape - View was amazing, staff was so friendly and the breakfast was insanely good. Nothing
- Storme (7/5): Good - Beautiful setting, easy to get to, comfortable bed Bathroom could use some repairs. Fixtures were loose and bath tub was in poor condition.
- Luciano (10/5): A place full of charm and great hospitality surrounded by incredible mountains - Charming and rustic place in a beautiful and secluded area. The host made us feel. Extremely comfortable and shared many tips. Thank you!
- Barbara (9/5): Superb -
- Johan (8/5): Very good -
- Hilton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee-jane (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was delicious. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The owner made us feel very welcome.
The Lavender cottage was comfortable and private. You could hear the owls in the tree above us in the early evening.
The property is beautiful with breath taking views.
- Amber (10/5): Lovely stay in the Tulbagh mountains! - We loved our stay at Mountain Manor. The property is beautiful and the view from our room (Queen room with balcony) was lovely. The pool area was also great and the host went above and beyond to make sure we were happy/ had everything we needed. Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone visiting Tulbagh. The breakfast was also lovely! We liked everything.
- William (7/5): Good -
- Beatrice (10/5): Relaxing and beautiful - Such a quirky, unique place with a great view. Mirna was super welcoming as well. It rained when we were there but we didn’t let it ruin our stay as it was very cosy and atmospheric. The room was spacious and great facilities.
- Heather (9/5): A little haven for rest and relaxation. Spectacular views, fantastic host - Mountain manor has spectacular views and is a little haven for rest and relaxation. Mirna was a great host, very hospitable and fun, recommending places to visit and eat and helping us cook a braai at the property, making us feel very at home. We enjoyed the quietness of our cottage on stilts and watching the wildlife in the morning, plus the lovely three resident dogs Large ants in the shower. But some wildlife / insects to be expected when so close to nature.
- Trevor (8/5): Really enjoyed our short stay. Will never forget the beautiful valley views and serenity of the place - Loved the views and the grand old house full of antiques. Water leaking from ceiling in bathroom. Lack of signage on access roads. Finally found it on sat nav after getting lost.
- Karlien (9/5): Wonderful - will definitely come again - The location is simply gorgeous. The host and her son are warm and engaging. The thick walls ensure quiet, even when it is busy. The pool is wonderful for a Summer's day. It is a short drive to the wine farms and restaurants in Tulbagh. The barbeque facilities need a bit of attention and a light at the braai area
- Wyphen (9/5): Beautiful Valley Views from the Mountain Lodge - We loved the size of our room at Mountain Manor. Very comfortable beds and en suite bathroom. Incredible views out our room and decent privacy. Our hostess was extremely welcoming, and made us feel very at home. Would definitely return with the family, but will bring our own EcoFlow. The manor is impacted by loadshedding, which impacted our sleep as my husband couldn't use his sleep apnea mask while the power was out from 2am - 4:30am.
- Luka (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place, great host, beautiful surroundings.
- Dirk (9/5): We recently spent 5 wonderful days there. - Mountain Manor is located at the northern part of the huge valley. It is elevated so that one has a wonderful view of Tulbagh and its surrounding whine estates - just wonderful.
Mirna, the remarkable host is good for advice on Tulbagh, its surroundings, local wines and dines, people, philosophy, just everything - 🙂 Nothing - it was a fantastic stay
- Senita (10/5): Exceptional - Location and owner Not was anything
- Jenny (10/5): Beautiful stay with a host the heart of gold 💛 - Mirna our host was absolutely brilliant. She looked after us from the second we arrived with her kindness, her excellent recommendations and her real care for our stay. Beautiful scenery and stunning farm.house in the most picturesque landscape. Would come back again and again.
- Hubert (9/5): Superb - Very neat place and stunning view’s
- Robinmol (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location next to some vineyard. The hosts and the dogs really add to the "homely" feeling that you get once you come to the manor. The hotel had everything that you needed to know about the surroundings, including what to do, where to eat and drink. It's all very well thought out. The hotel room we stayed in did not have curtains going all around - we would have had such a lovely long night's sleep if it did.
- Nomcebo (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in the Lavender cottage just off the main house. It was lovely. The farm views were spectacular. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.
- Tania (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geoff (10/5): A relaxing stay near Tulbagh with a stunning view - A great place for peace and relaxation. The room is well-equipped and comfortable. The views from the garden of Tulbagh and the ring of mountains are stunning. Mountain Manor is only a 15 minute drive from the centre of Tulbagh so evening dining in one of the many Tulbagh restaurants or nearby estate diners is not a problem. In addition to walking around the associated orchards, there are many walks within easy driving - the waterfall is a great one to visit.
The host is very helpful and characterful.
This is the second time we have stayed and hopefully it will not be our last.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerstin (10/5): Great hospitality, friendly and relaxed. Wonderful! - Great hospitality, very friendly and relaxed atomsphere. Excellent breakfast.
- Mrmorpheous (3/5): Stay away - The dogs in the morning looking for food because the staff only arrived at around 8am was very nice. Both aircon units were broken in heat going up to 35 °C.. (By the previous tenant as I was told) Television was not working due to the open view that was stolen. (By the previous tenant as well) I'm still waiting to this day on a fix for this from the owner. There is no door in the second room's bathroom. Had to buy cables, etc, so I could play my laptop through the television. Wi-Fi was 1.3 mb/s. At best, Utensils were missing. Glasses were cracked. Towels were missing as well. The trailer filled with rubbish next to my ensuite bathroom was glorious in that heat. The gardens are well kept, but don't expect the same of the units. Staff is in the garage area the whole day and can't be reached easily. Seeing as it was peak season in South Africa, we were stuck there because we wouldn't have gotten a place at that time. I will be contacting booking.com as well regarding this disastrous experience.
- Gordon (8/5): Really enjoyed our time at Tulbagh. Wish Myrna and Gerrie all the best for the future. - Beautiful old building and great views. Friendly reception from Myrna and all the staff. Good breakfast We like old and quirky but a bit more light in the rooms would be good plus some improvements to the plumbing.
- Janise (10/5): Exceptional - We were welcomed by the most warm hearted soul we know Myrna and her fur babies. The scenery was amazing. Rooms had an antique look and feel the view was breathtaking and the staff was friendly. Milo was such a great sport he walked us to the orchard and we picked the most loveliest peaches. We will definitely be visiting soon again with our kids
- Poole (10/5): Wonderful stay - Peaceful, tranquility. The gravel road is a bit uncomfortable getting to the location.
- Anize (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aletta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisadaubs (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything, including the furry family members. Thanks Mirna. We shall be back. Can't think of anything we didn't like.
