Guest Reviews

- Benoit (10/5): - If you are a birdwatcher, this is the place you are looking for. Not only is the reserve right next door, but Mike is the best ally you can dream of. He knows the best spots and shares them freely with his guests.
The place itself is functional, it has a bed and a bathroom. There is a kitchen and a little self service convenience store.
- Didier Standaert (10/5): the best of the best - everything was perfect very friendly i'm very satisfied i was there for bird photography the owner is a guide he is perfect i think you can never find a better guide than the owner
when you're out for bird photographie that's the place you need to go with the guide is very very good his name is Dean Mike
i think next year i go back to dean mike he is very good you cannot find a better guide as that one the man is super good real professional everything was okay

- coco.g (10/5): - Propre et bien entretenu
Accueil chaleureux
- Lucas (9/5): Great stay near Rajah Sikatuna with a local bird guide - This property is situated perfectly if you’re looking to start early at Rajah Sikatuna Protected area. The stay was just what we needed, as it even had a fridge and kitchen supplies.

- Peter (8/5): Great location for National park visit highly recommended for nature lovers. - Very flexible staff, last minute changes in dates were possible, owner went the extra mile, organising breakfast and tours. Ideal location for National Park visit, guided birding tour highly recommended and even mammals to be seen.
- patricia (8/5): Très bien - Les propriétaires sont excessivement gentils et attentionnés, ils se sont pliés en 4 pour nous aider dans nos déplacements La grandeur des chambres mais il est difficile de pousser les murs
- Glenn Mark (10/5): The owners are very accomodating, the last time we stayed we got free rice. Also the place is pet friendly. 👏 - Kind owners, pet friendly
- Pauline (6/5): Great host. Out of the way. Very small - Host was great The bathroom was too small. You could hardly fit on the toilet. No hot water. Noisy a/c unit.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Simon (9/5): Lovely location, great owner. Value - About 2-minutes walk from the National Park, of which the night safari was the highlight of our stay in Bohol. About 10 to 15 minutes walk to the village. Chocolate Hills was an easy afternoon trip, 30 pesos on the bus. The owner here was very kind and laid back, always there to help or answer questions. The pool wasn't available for the 2nd day of our stay.
- Tim (10/5): Our stay here allowed us to get a glimpse of life in a Philippines farming village with large areas of working rice padd - We were birding so location is very close to Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape. Spacious, cozy and clean room with comfortable beds, great air conditioning. Common kitchen area was helpful. Friendly onsite owner was also our excellent bird guide. Some noise from dogs, cats and roosters. Not all the time and not the fault of the property, just what to expect in a Philippines farming village. Bring some ear plugs if you think it might be an issue.
- Cheng (4/5): Disappointing - We like to get close to the forest. However, the bedroom is too small to us, and we have sheets but no comforter to use in the night. The room's equipments are too old to use. There are no shampoo and body wash in the bathroom and when we showered it has no hot water just cold water. Those are the most depressed things in our trip these days, it's such an uncomfortable experience for the accommodation.
- Matous (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and very cute and cozy rooms, also appreciate the pool. Plus the owners are the most welcoming and friendly people.
- Jj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (8/5): Very good - The location was good, right near the Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape, where we saw wild macaque and lemurs. They kindly allowed us to use their kitchen to cook and they provided drinking water too. The door to the room could not be locked as it was broken.
- Yu-ching (8/5): Great location - Great location for visit of Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape. We had a night tour and morning bird watching, and we’re happy that we could stay here nearby.
Have a pool. None
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- 喂小拉 (8/5): near Rajah Sikatuna National Park, convenient for wildlife-lovers -
- Maximilian (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful people and good location to visit the many sites close to bilar.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional - Nice, Helpful owners 👍
- Yvo (5/5): Great location for a terminal 3 stay over - The location is great for Terminal 3 layovers. The facilities are part of an appartment complex. There are plenty of shops and places near by. We requested for an extension of time that was granted so we could take showers before our afternoon flight. The accomodation is basic. The price a little much for the kind of place however the location is very convienient. the Pool was undermaintenance the days we where there so unfortunatally we where unable to use it.
- D'maestro (10/5): Basic Boutique 3 Room Hotel - This is a very small 3 room boutique hotel
Nothing fancy, but functional in a Filipino style.
Showers are not heated, but who needs hot water in the the Philippines?!
Owners are very accommodating and helpful knowing all of the things to do locally, INCLUDING BIRDING aka Bird Watching of some rare and unique species.
Check-in was until 2000/8:00pm but they were kind enough to wait an hour longer when I called ahead.
Rooms are private entry to each room.
Aircon works well!👍🏼
Internet signal very good and have 5G
Though no TV in rooms
- Joe (9/5): Superb - Nice clean, simple and great value. Perfectly situated for Rajah Sikatuna. The owner Mike knows all about the birds/wildlife there and guide you if needed
- Brilla (6/5): Pleasant - We love the place and the management we great full and thankful them Just no hot and cold water
- Sean (10/5): It's my first choice for a place to stay for birding in Bilar. - The proximity to the entrance of Rajah Sikatuna National Park is convenient. The property owners / managers were accommodating, helpful, and friendly.
- Andrea (10/5): Super confy and nice place to stay :) - Location and the owner guy is amazing!!!! He will tell you lots of places to eat and visit!!! On the top of our roof there were some animal because all the night was doing noise. It’s the only thing!
- Ramunė (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthieu (8/5): friendly, hospitability owner - friendly owner, easy going to talk and discret,
the owner did the effort to clean the pool once we arrive
can rent motor
can cook, kitchen full of ustensils and consumables
nice rooftop to eat
best friend Marcos, the chihuahua very friendly
really spacious comfortable room, mattress and clean
little bar with good selection of drinks
nice location to go Pangas falls, Chocolate hills, tarsier sanctuary, floating restaurant on Loboc river and whaleshark spot in Lila. we might recommend to let customers pay for their drinks by itself when its late and the owner is sleeping
no hot shower
- Caitlin (8/5): Very good - Came to do a birding tour with Mike the owner which was fantastic. Room basic but good outside seating area and cheap beer Pool was getting cleaned so couldnt use. It is remote so recommend a bike or its a 30 min walk to a 7-11 or a good restaurant.
- Lorand (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location for the National Park excellent hosts!!
