Guest Reviews
- Gerry (10/5): Excellent property, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again - Warm, comfortable and welcoming. Ideal for four adults and two growing boys! Nothing we didn’t like. Instruction booklet would have been helpful re bin collection and how the bath worked. Would also have liked wider variety of cooking equipment (all that fish and shellfish!), but these are minor quibbles.
- Lynn (10/5): - The accommodation was exceptionally lovely and very comfortable . Also very central within walking distance of facilities
Please thank the owners Nothing
- Liam (9/5): Lovely house in an excellent location for getting around Orkney. - Lovely house in an excellent location N/A
- Nicol (9/5): Would have no hesitation booking again. Well worth a visit - Beautifully appointed property It did get a bit cold
- Jamie (10/5): Nice big central property vary nice stay - Nice big property in central Kirkwall so ideal location bit rooms and plenty of facilities

- Ian (9/5): Great location with comfortable furnishings, pet friendly and nice private outdoor space. - Great location close to centre of Kirkwall with shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Was large enough to accommodate 6 adults and a dog.Nice gesture of wine and local tablet biscuits on arrival. Parking was available close by and during our stay we had parking space for two cars at all times.
Would definitely consider using again.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- J (10/5): Spectacular holiday property - I cannot recommend this place enough. This is a spectacular house which has been very well finished. There was loads of space for a group of six friends plus a dog. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were two full bathrooms plus one en suite. Shops were a 5min walk away and the supermarkets were about a 10min walk. It was an excellent base for exploring mainland Orkney but we found ourselves sad that we couldn't spent more time relaxing in this lovely house! Hazel was an excellent host and very responsive and helpful throughout. I would 100% love to come back here.
- Tessa (10/5): Perfect Kirkwall - Very comfortable with great facilities in an excellent location Nothing
- Rebecca (8/5): Clean, comfortable, cosy - Perfect for 5 adults in their 60s and 70s. Extremely comfortable, great setting The only negative was a a noisy crowd next door on the Friday. Kept us awake until 2.30 am. On the Saturday we asked them to quieten down and they did
- Inga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kay (10/5): We had a fantastic stay - we will definitely book again for visits to Orkney to see family. - Very central location.
Amazing size and layout.
Beautiful rooms and comfy beds.
Lovely bathrooms.
Garden with seating area - still a bit cold when we were there but will be perfect in summers
- Graham (10/5): Large 3-bed House in the Heart of Orkney - Wonderful location just off the Main Street in Kirkwall, moments from the main attractions, and close to shops selling local produce. The house is a great size and well designed, meaning there was plenty of space for everyone during our stay. We found the kitchen to be well-stocked with plenty of cooking utensils, and found it easy to make ourselves at home. The hosts were very responsive, happy to make recommendations, and keen to ensure we had a wonderful time, which I'm delighted to say we did!
- Barklie (8/5): Very good - Lovely accommodation handy for shops and sightseeing Not sure if a booking.com issue but poor communication. Replied to an owners query about bed requirements but sent same query message again. Left message on owners voicemail just to be on safe side but no acknowledgement. No information about accessing property on check-in- no answer when called owner. Property was open but would have been helpful to know this would be the case. Called to ask if could delay check out time as poor weather forecast but no response....
- Catherine (10/5): A lovely house - We had a lovely stay at Kingston house! The home is very cosy, clean and has everything you need. Location amazing, staff communication perfect. N/A
- Keith (10/5): Perfect......just perfect...even with a storm on the second day. - This was a genuine brilliant find, by my wife ;-) The feel of the whole property is like you have stepped into a true home from home, all the kitchen utensils and loads of useful bits and pieces, even a store cupboard with coffee, tea's, spices etc (I think some of these have been left by previous guests, but it really made you feel at home). Seating was comfortable in the lounge and at the dinning table. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, with fresh linen and lovely fluffy towels. WiFi was a little on the slow side, but our phones all got 5G so not really an issue.
- Marcus (10/5): Expceptionally comfortable and enjoyable. - The house is tucked away nicely. Exceptionally clean and tidy, fantastic facilities inside. If I’m being exceptionally picky, the log burner hadn’t been emptied of ash, and the logs weren’t seasoned and struggled to get them going. But that is being overly critical, it didn’t negatively affect our stay and could have just been a one off oversight.
- Stephanie (10/5): Kingston house was great. Would have loved to have had longer there! House location was great and brilliant for a family - Location and comfort Nothing
- Symes (10/5): Exceptional - The house was spotless, well appointed and comfortable. A real home from home, with a lovely garden right in the middle of town. We will definitely go back Having to leave!
- Rector (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (9/5): Superb -
- Janette (8/5): We loved our stay and overall liked the house very much. - The house was very comfortable with modern en-suite and bathroom, plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable with crisp linen. Kitchen was well equipped. It was in a very central position to the town. The weather was hot and sunny and it would have been nice to sit out on the deck but it was dirty and had not been cleaned and table and chairs very dirty. Grass was long and untidy.
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirsty (10/5): Great accommodation for weekend trip - Perfect location, hosts were very flexible with late check out etc, clean and fresh. Very spacious and airy. Nothing.
- Inga (10/5): It’s not the 1st time at the accommodation so what does that say😀 -
- Christine (9/5): Very good - Just one thing .. parking would of been nice to have the car nearer to hand
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional - Central location. There was everything provided for our stay. Comfortable beds and an exceptional house. Lovely friendly hosts.
- Harris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joyce (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Had a great time. - Very central in Kirkwall. Large open plan living area with multi fuel stove. Comfortable beds and everything we needed for our stay. We didn’t bring our dog this time. House would have been fine but not sure the garden would have been secure.
- Alice (10/5): Great stay in a great location - Great location, comfy beds, plenty of space. Nothing - all was great
- Wilma (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and our visit to other areas/sites in Orkney - Location good as central in kirkwall Arrived late evening house difficult to find. One of the party tripped on steps as the outside went off too quickly. No initial advice on where to park the car.
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect location and comfortable stay - This was the perfect accommodation for a group trip to Orkney. It was spacious, clean and the location couldn't have been more central to the Kirkwall attractions and transport. We all had a fantastic time and felt very welcome here. Letting us leave our bags on the last day was very kind and appreciated. Thanks! N/A - all great
