Top Juste derrière la mosquée avec des hauts parleurs extrêmement forts. Impossible de ne pas se réveiller. Et l’appel à la prière dure trèèèèès longtemps. Serrure HS dans notre bungalow (impossible à fermer à clé)

• Lisa-Marie (10/5): - Ezy et sa femme étaient très gentils et serviables. L’arrivée s’est déroulée facilement, Ezy vient nous chercher en bateau au port le plus proche. Nous avons fait une journée snorkeling avec lui, à très bon prix. Il a partagé avec nous les noix de coco de son jardin. Il y a à 5 minutes de marche de warung bien placés pour le sunset.

• kristian (9/5): Island life in a low low gear. Reefs are stunning. - A place to completly wind down and relax. Simple yet adequate huts for those who can do without resort extravaganza. The hosts Can help you with arrangements, and are as easy going as you could wish. The snorkling near Gilli Gede is world class. Turtles, morrays, blue-coral. Spend a Day on Gilli Layar. There is a great resto on the Beach. There is a local plastic clean-up program if you want to contribute.

• Martina (10/5): Ottimo soggiorno - Ezi e sua moglie Riska sono persone fantastiche, gentili e disponibili. Riska mi ha cucinato ottimi pranzi e cene tutti i giorni e Ezi mi ha organizzato gli spostamenti tra le isole a ottimi prezzi. La camera è accogliente e pulita. La posizione non è proprio il massimo perché a mio parere l'altro lato dell'isola è un po' più carino e attrezzato, ma comunque ci si arriva con 7 minuti di camminata tranquilla. Questo è però il lato giusto per vedere bellissimi tramonti.

The guys working there were super kind and arranged a snorkelling tour for the next day which is highly recommend. Most luscious coral I’ve seen in a long time and we saw two turtles. There was no time limit on the tour and we stayed in each spot for as long as we wanted. It’s right next to the pier but the side of the island it is on is filthy. So much plastic. I’ve never seen a dirtier beach. I’d stay here but recommend heading over to the likes of sunrise resto for food and swimming

• Michael (9/5): Great choice to stay with very friendly and helpful people - Nice little cottages, clean and charming. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, they arranged a snorkeling trip, transfer to the harbour and a car to Mataram/Bangsal. All for very reasonable and fair prices and with reliable and friendly boatmen and car drivers. I can highly recommend this place for a budget stay. The breakfast was good but small and simple. But fair enough for this price and very flexible timings.

• Patrick (9/5): Gerne wieder - Wer ruhe sucht wird sie hier finden. Der Garten ist sehr schön angelegt und wird jeden Tag gesäubert. Die Vermieter sind sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend außerdem immer bereit den Aufenthalt zu verschönern. Ich war lange dort und bin nur schweren Herzens wieder gegangen Das Badezimmer könnte einen neuen Anstrich vertragen, eventuell ein paar Ablagen für Leute die länger bleiben wollen aber einige Renovierungsarbeiten sind schon in Planung.

Il nous a proposé un trip pour voir les spots de snorkeling. Je recommande vivement. l'appel a la priere de la mosquée du village

• Finja (10/5): - Die Fotos entsprechen nicht der Realität im positiven Sinne. Wir waren absolut begeistert, als wir durch das Tor in den Garten gekommen sind. Es gibt vier Bungalows, die recht neu scheinen. Die Matratze war nicht durchgelegen, das Bettzeug war sauber, das Mosquito-Netz hatte keine Löcher und es gibt sogar verglaste Fenster, für ein bisschen Tageslicht. Das Bad war geräumig und für indonesische Verhältnisse sauber. Die Dusche ist kalt, aber wenn man abends duscht war das kein Problem. Man muss nur ein paar Minuten warten, bis das Wasser weniger brackig riecht. Den Ventilator haben wir nicht gebraucht, da es abends auf der Insel ziemlich abkühlt und der Bungalow gut durchlüftet ist. Das Frühstück war einfach, aber für uns ausreichend. Neben den Pancakes gab es auf Wunsch auch Omelette oder eine Kombination. Außerdem gibt es eine kleine Karte mit für die Insel sehr günstigen Preisen. Eistee, Kaffee und Softgetränken sowie kostenloses Wasser sind auch da. Die Lage ist optimal für Abenteurer. Man kommt überall gut auf die Insel hin, es gibt schöne Schnorchelspots in der Nähe und abends hat man die schönsten Sonnenuntergänge direkt vor der Haustür. Strände zum Entspannen findet man jedoch eher auf der anderen Inselseite bei den Resorts, außer man stört sich nicht an dem vielen Müll um einen herum. Warungs sowie ein paar Restaurants sind innerhalb von 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Zum High Dive Tauchresort benötigt man 25 Minuten, sie holen einen aber auch am Pier direkt vor dem Homestay ab. Ezy bietet zudem tolle Touren an. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Tag mit viel Inselhopping und er hat uns auch zuverlässig und preiswert Transporte von Kuta aus organisiert. Das einzige negative ist wirklich die wirklich lauten und lang anhaltenden Moscheeankündigungen/-gebete/-durchsagen, also Ohropax mitnehmen oder mit dem Sonnenaufgang aufstehen.

Le logement est très mignon et bien équipé Emplacement très bien sur Gili gede ( 10 min à pied du port) et juste a côté de 2 bars sympas pour regarder le coucher de soleil Rien

• Lacroix-Bourassa (7/5): Bel endroit, mais propreté déficiente. - L’endroit est situé tout près de la plage et de l’arrivée en bateau. Gili Gede est une île calme et peu fréquentée par les touristes. Le propriétaire nous a organisé une belle sortie en snorkling où nous avons exploré 5 spots seuls ou avec peu d’autres bateaux (très peu de personnes dans l’eau). La salle de bain était sale (douche pleine de résidus de savon, avec les vieux savons en barre de clients précédents et le drain d’évacuation était remplis de cheveux. Nous avions quelque chose qui ressemblait à un paréo un peu plus long en guise de drap, ce qui ne pouvait couvrir de justesse qu’une personne alors qu’on était deux.

The snorkeling tour was so great, we saw so many fish and could take as much time as we wanted. It was so great! We can just recommend this Homestay! Support the locals :) The mosque is quite loud

Fantastic value for money for a stay with locals. Ezy also took us fishing and snorkeling and I saw my first turtle at Layar Island. The place is near 2 mosques, so no sleeping in when the loudspeakers start at 5 am with prayers. But that is the tradition here. One very sad thing is the extensive rubbish in the villages and on the beaches. 😓

• Bernd (10/5): Eine wirklich tolle Unterkunft - Eine wirkliche tolle Unterkunft. Es war alles sauber, ich hatte genug Platz und es gab sogar einen Tisch mit Stuhl im Zimmer. Die Terrasse war super um da zu sitzen und in den tollen Garten zu schauen. Zusätzlich wurde mir noch zu richtig guten Konditionen ein Bootstranfer ermöglicht. Das Frühstück war lecker. Und die Schnorcheltour die man bei Ezi gleich in der Unterkunft buchen kann war einzigartig und hatte ein unschlagbares Preis/-Leistungsverhältnis. Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen.
• Peter (5/5): Lush gardenbungalows and friendly welcome atmosphere. - The warm, welcoming and friendlyness of our host Eyzi and his whife. Thy did everything possible to make our stay a memory. The small bungalows are inbedded in a lush garden with chickens rooming freely. A quired oasis, exept 4 times a day at prayer times. Eycy’s whife is a master-chef, prepearing lovley lunch. The beautyful, nearby Mosce makes this stay perfect for musling- visiters. Situated remote and isolated, you need a boat to go to clean beaches on other islands for snorkeling and swimming as the nearby beaches are poluted of plastics and debris. The small bungalow, cooresponding well to the low rates soon become expencive as costs add up for ferrys and boat trips for swimming and snorkeling. The included breakfest was less than basic, only contenting playn pancace and a cup of coffe. The maintainence of the bungalows need to be uppgraded, provided WIFI. hardly working. Bring your own internet- connectio.
• Kelly (10/5): Calme et merveilleux - Cette île est splendide avec des gens accueillants et charmants ! En commençant par Ezy qui nous accueillit au garden cottage, comme ses potes. Il est d’une gentillesse extraordinaire, une de mes plus belles rencontres du voyage ! Il nous a fait découvrir l’île comme jamais, nous a fait découvrir le mongrove warung avec lufty qui est adorable et excellente cuisinière. L’île est paisible sans voiture, des fonds marins magnifiques de partout. Le bungalow typique colle parfaitement dans le paysage. Un moment de dépaysement total ! J’adorerai y revenir un jour Rien tout était parfait ! Ezy est un hôte adorable et tjrs prêt à aider.
• jusine wrobel (10/5): Beautiful and kind experience - I stayed for three nights at this homestay in Gili Gede, and it was an amazing experience. The bungalow was simple but great, surrounded by a beautiful garden. But what truly made my stay special was the incredible connection I made. Ezy made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. He took care of me on my first day when I was unfortunately sick and then took me snorkeling (he helped me find a seahorse 😁 and corals and foshes were beautiful !!) and fishing (then coocked me the the squid so i could taste) the next day. He also introduced me to his family (I will miss the children and their kittens), which was a heartwarming experience. He genuinely enjoys meeting people, and we had so many interesting conversations. H Gili Gede is a quiet island, but the people here are incredibly kind and welcoming. I’m so grateful for the time I spent here. Oh, and the chocolate pancakes at breakfast were delicious! I highly recommend this place to everyone. I’m leaving the island filled with kindness and already hoping to come back. Fingers crossed! 🤞 Could be a little bit noisy with the mosqe near to the bungalow but it's part of the experience !
• Stanley (10/5): Very nice host ,excellent snorkeling boat trip he took us on ,lovely gardens - For what it cost and back to the basics ,great value ,The host took us on a fantastic boat snorting trip for 8 hours There’s a lot of plastic on the island especially along the shore line , But this is not the fault of Garden Cottage ,They are contributing to helping clea it up

• Marion (1/5): - The staff was friendly. Garden is nice. - This accommodation is NOT on the beach. There is no beach. There's a harbour basin / dump. Talking about dumps, the whole island is one huge dump, by the way. Furthermore between the 'beach' an the accommodation there's a sports ground. - I didn't have water. When I complained the pump was fixed, but the sparse water stank as if some animals had drowned in the tank. Unfortunately I had already put shampoo on my head, so I had to walk to the harbour basin to wash myself there. - The bathroom was dirty and the sheets smelt and felt as if somebody had slept in them before. The sheets also had cigarette burns. - I left the place (and the island) on the very next day, although I had booked 2 nights. I spite of all this inconvenience the owner was not willing to refund the money for the 2nd night. I have been traveling Indonesia now for 3 weeks, but this was my worst stay. Absolutely no value for the money.

• Anais (10/5): Superbe accueil, bungalow très mignons et confortables - merci 🙏 - - l’accueil et la gentillesse du propriétaire ezy est juste incroyable…c’est un bonheur de rester chez eux - lit très confortable, - bungalow spacieux avec terrasse et jardin plein de végétation - Ezy est aux petits soins et tjrs disponible, pour organiser un tour snorkelling, répondre à nos questions, nous préparer à manger à l’heure souhaitée…c’était parfait - petit déjeuner servi directement sur notre terrasse et si l’on souhaite le déjeuner ou le dîner c’est possible c’est bon et pas cher - le wifi peut être amélioré…mais bon c’est une toute petite île et forcément la connexion peut être un peu ralentie parfois

• Clara (10/5): Authentische und sympathische Bungalows mit tollem Besitzer! - Super nette und authentische Unterkunft in der Mitte von Gili Gede. Ezy, der Besitzer, war klasse; sehr hilfreich, ein toller Schnorchelguide, hat uns sofort seinen Freunden vorgestellt und viel Zeit mit uns verbracht und jeden Tag frische Mangos aus seinem wunderschönen Garten gebracht. Unbedingt eine Schnorcheltour zu den umliegenden Inseln machen, beste Schnorchelerfahrung in Indonesien bis jetzt! Ansonsten ist Gili Gede noch sehr ursprünglich, wenig zu sehen aber dafür super authentisch, nette Leute, gute Warungs und tolle Sonnenuntergänge! Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit hier! Sauberkeit im Bad könnte etwas besser sein. Lage ist nicht so zentral, also berechnen dass man zum nächsten Restaurant sowie zum Haupt-Anlegesteg min. 10 laufen muss, war für uns aber kein Problem!
• Mathieu (10/5): - L'endroit parfait ! Le propriétaire est adorable ! Tjs dans le coin, sans jamais être oppressant. Toujours à se plier en 4 pour nous satisfaire ! Toujours prêt à discuter ! La sortie snorkelling était parfaite ! Les conseils et l'aide fournie pour le départ (et pour l arrivée en raison d' une arrivée nocturne pour vol retardé) ont été la preuve que tout est fait pour que tout se passe bien. Allez y les yeux fermés, vous passerez un bon moment, et gagnerez une relation enrichissante! Pas de sa faute, mais son resto venait de s effondrer... Ce n' est qu une question de QQ semaines pour qu'il refasse surface! Cependant rien de gênant, les petits déjeuners sont de même préparés, il y a des Warung sur place, et le proprio peut quand même vous préparer un poulet ! 😉

• Alba (5/5): La cabaña bien, la isla horrible - Las cabañas están muy bien, espaciosas y limpias. Para desayunar comimos de casualidad un mango que nos trajo el señor recién cogido que estaba riquísimo, pero el desayuno original era un sándwich con una mermelada de fresa que sabía a plástico… Ahora bien, la isla es la isla más fea y sucia en la que he estado después de viajar por el Sudeste Asiático durante un año. No entiendo las buenas reviews, no la recomiendo para nada a no ser que quieras vivir una experiencia muy local y ver cómo se vive allí. Hicimos el tour de snorkel y tampoco lo recomiendo, si has estado en sitios bonitos o sin ir más lejos Gili Air, no te va a parecer bonito. Mucho Coral muerto y agua turbia.

• David (10/5): - La cabaña estaba muy acogedora y el personal muy atento a todo. Me solucionaron el Snorkel con un gia que me llevo a sitios espectaculares, vimos 3 tortugas y peces de todos los colores. Gracias por todo.
• Edit (10/5): Very friendly and helpful hosts and nice cottages! - The hosts were so kind and helpful! The cottage was lovely and fresh. We went on a snorkelling tour with the hosts witch was so very nice! Saw both seahorses and big turtles and so many beautiful fishes and corals! They picked us up from the harbour outside gili gede and dropped us of after our stay, they were super helpful and you really feel thought after, very service minded and just some really nice people to befriend! 🙏It’s just a short walk to some really nice local restaurants! I would definitely recommend this host and the garden cottages! We were her during a big Muslim holiday so there was a lot of sounds from the mosk at random hours and early in the morning wich was a bit hard for my sleep but it is probably fine if you avoid this time ☺️
