- Jisso (10/5): A peaceful little piece of paradise under the stars - Our stay in the bubble was a truly exceptional experience. Falling asleep under the stars, surrounded by nature, felt magical and very peaceful. The place is beautifully decorated with a lot of taste, and the outdoor kitchen and tree‑side shower give it a cozy, stylish glamping vibe. The kitchen had everything we needed for tea and simple meals.
The nearby village is quite isolated, which makes it perfect for disconnecting from the city, Wi‑Fi, and everyday stress. There is a small local restaurant with warm homemade food at very good prices, and the atmosphere in the village is joyful and welcoming. It is not ultra‑luxury, but it is clean, comfortable, and created for a good cause, which makes the experience even more meaningful.
Sarah, the host, is truly wonderful: very caring and attentive to her guests, always making sure we felt comfortable. She even lets guests enjoy the many fruits and herbs growing around the property, which adds a very special touch to the stay. This place is a real gem and absolutely worth supporting and visiting.
- giuseppe (1/5): TERRIBLE! - Nothing... everything was a disaster.
Something that should have been special, in practice, was terrible. Here's what went wrong:
- When we returned in the evening, we found the tent completely collapsed (see attached photos). It was impossible to stay inside because there was no ventilation. We contacted Sarah, the owner, but she didn't respond during the emergency, but she came the next day with an apology. We spent the night outside without sleep... the worst experience I've ever had.
- The shower was outside with cold water due to a technical problem. We asked for an adjustment, but they couldn't fix it. Can you imagine how unpleasant it was to shower outside with cold water that evening, after returning from a safari?
- The shower didn't have any soap or shower gel. We asked for one, but nothing was brought, we just washed with water.
- The worst thing was the lack of toilet paper in the bathroom. We asked for it as soon as we arrived, but it wasn't brought until the second day. Can you imagine what it's like not to be able to clean up after pooping?
- Other problems: lack of maintenance everywhere, the kitchen faucet keeps leaking, lack of sugar, and dirt.
- The campsite only has one tent, and in the evenings you're left completely alone; if you need help, no one will help you.
- The owner, Sarah, didn't respond to our messages, and we received no assistance... only an apology shortly before our departure. The owner had promised us a refund for all these inconveniences, but after we left, this refund never arrived.
I'm a real traveler; you can see all the positive reviews left on Booking.com, and this was the first one-star review I've ever left, because it was the worst experience I've ever had in my life.
- Anna (9/5): - Place located in solitude, remote area - makes it tricky to reach on your own but for some that is an advantage, part of the charm :-) Being the only guest/tourist around made it quite a special experience. It's asp worth mentioning that this is a part of local community project still in the early stages, so expectations should be managed accordingly. Beautiful initiative that's worth supporting.

Le petit village loin de tout
L accueil ! Rien
- Camille (10/5): Very special place! - Beautiful and very special accommodation! 100% recommend :)
- Sylvia (1/5): It’s a hoax and doesn’t exist - I want to report this one and I want my full amount of money back, as I said it before. Bubble safari doesn’t exist and I also got a strange email on this day, if I made it’s ok for PayPal to pay 319€. This is a hoax and the address is incorrect aswell as on Airbnb it says a different city. Also on instagram there are only catalogue photos just like here. I hope the don’t see any details of me. I want to report this one with no payments made. See above

- Jakub (10/5): - Amazing!! the most beautiful place, that we have seen in Kenya till today. We have been to waterfall and also in the shop with Owner’s son.- he is very helpfull!!
Thank You!

- van den Hout (10/5): - Ik geef zelden een 10 maar Serah heeft m echt verdiend. Alles klopte...... niets was teveel gevraagd. Het is gewoon een fantastische ervaring. Niet over nadenken en gewoon doen!! Niets!!!
- Henry (9/5): Unique adventure in the middle of nature - Serah is a very kind & engaged host. The communication through Whatsapp worked perfectly.
The location is a 40 minutes (private shuttle for ~2500-3000Ksh) drive away from Voi close to the village Msau.
The bubble is a unique experience and we enjoyed it a lot. The kitchen is well equipped for easy meals and local village stores are close by. However, if you prefer a more diverse diet, you should stop by at a supermarket beforehand.
There are a lot of birds around and at night you will also hear many bushbabies. They also stole our bananas ;) However, they are very hard to find. We could not spot any although we tried a lot.
We booked two activities from Serah. We did the hike with local guides through the nearby hills and villages and met many nice local people. During our safari through Tsavo East, we saw many different animals but be aware that this will be a self-guided safari in her own 4WD Landrover. It was sufficient to navigate through the area but at this moment (once we left, Serah already tried to find solutions for it) did not have an open roof to enjoy 360° views.
If you are open to a local experience close to nature, animals & the stars, this is a perfect match!
Thanks a lot for everything, Serah! -

- Raphael (10/5): A magical stay in nature with an unforgettable mango tree shower and a host who went above and beyond – absolutely recom - I stayed at Safari Bubbles for two nights and it was just wonderful. Surrounded by pure nature, my highlight was the unique outdoor shower under a mango tree – unforgettable! 🌿
The host was truly amazing – warm, caring and going far beyond what she had to. I felt genuinely welcome every moment.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for peace, nature and real hospitality. 🌟 -
- Noelle (10/5): The most beautiful stay in Kenya! - Don’t hesitate to book this accommodation! The bubble is amazing, unique and one of a kind. It feels so luxury and at the same time you’re surrounded by nature. It’s very private and you even have your own outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower (with warm water! The first warm water we had in Kenya!)
There is a little village at just 5 minute walk where you can buy fruits, vegetables, chapati, fried potatoes and meat.
Serah is an amazing host. Very fast in her response and she’s able to help you with all of the activities: safari in Tsavo west or east, an amazing hike through the mountains or a waterfall trip. Her vision and entrepreneur spirit is amazing to see and she has some great advices. Thank you so much for everything and hopefully we’ll be back one day!
- Judith (10/5): Enchanting. - This is a wonderful sanctuary and a unique experience. As a solo traveler I wasn’t sure how remote the bubble is, but I needn’t have worried since the host, Serah, is literally just around the corner. You still have complete privacy and are surrounded by beautiful nature. Serah takes very good care of her guests. This is a wonderful project to support local women. Nothing to complain about. Just be aware that during the day it gets too hot in the bubble, but that’s when you’re usually out and about anyway.

- Andreas (10/5): Breathtaking, sensational, exceptional ... no way to summarize the experience in one short sentence! - To stumble across this little paradise and to be lucky to book it for three nights was one of my best travel decisions ever. It is simply the most special accomodation and nature adventure I ever experienced in Kenya. I will not repeat the details others wrote about the place here, so I'll try to add a bit:
Serah is a most beautiful, accomodating, friendly and happy (I think) person and she will do whatever it takes to make you feel "at home". Jay, who guides the nature tours, checks for snakes, brings a coconut for refreshment or just gives you a smile, likewise. Didn't know before that just one bubble exists so far as it's a very yound "resort" (3 more are planned sometime), but being alone amidst the beautiful Taita greens with my partner made it all the better.
There's a freezer to keep your food and drinks cool, and a village in 15 minutes walking distance to buy stuff and eat. WiFi worked soso, but if you require Internet being in this place you've lost it anyway I'd state.
Spending our time here at dry season and 35+ degrees made it impossible to enter the bubble during daytime (at least I wasn't up for sauna), but all the better during the clear starry nights. As there's close to zero scattered light any astronomy fan will just do the same as I: Stay up all night on the terrasse, or lie awake on the bed admiring the vaastness of universe.
The waterfall tour was beautiful and Jay is keen to share his Kenya, Taita and nature knowledge, the strenuous hike uphill the Taita ranges on the next day (joined by Angus) even more fulfilling. 7 hours with those folks (for a ridiculous price that stimulates tips...) and I learned sooo much about the region, it's beautiful and friendly people, and how to best hike at 36 degrees without getting a sunburn. It didn't work :-)
I'm still grateful to have spend time with the lot, and in this little special paradise. Asante Serah! Nothing to say at all. And if there would be anything, it would be solved in one hour.
- Werner (10/5): A wonderful place! - When I came here the Bubbles I saw were far beyond the pictures shown on booking.com. Space station has landed came into my mind. This is the most innovativ accommodation i saw so far everywhere in the World. Serah really has dared to do something big combining modern and nature, the view to the stars and the quiet places under the trees. I liked her selection of kitchen ware, the furniture and decoration. All bits and pieces are tastefully selected and fit together well. A designer could not have done it better. Beside that I have spent here 2 wonderful days of hiking and relaxing and I even got to know some typical Kenyan meals. Serah, Jay and Angus thank you for all of that.
P.S. don't worry, it is warm in here during the day but it will cool down fast when the sun is down. Until then enjoy the shade. I had nothing to complain about.
- Manuel (10/5): Amazing Experience - Safari Bubbles is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed at. Sleeping under the stars ✨ and enjoying the serenity was the best experience ever 🕺🏽
- Smits (10/5): Unforgettable green getaway close to Tsavo East and West - The location of the place gives the perfect balance between a safari adventure in Tsavo East or West and the lush hills in Taita. We're surrounded by bushbaby's in the night watching the night sky from within the balloon. We have taken a boda boda to Wundanyi town which on itself is already a beautiful trip. Also you can do hikes in the nearby mountains. Thank you once again Jay, it was awesome. The balloon is located right in the middle of the valley and therefore submerged in green all around.
And of course most people visit Kenya to do a safari. Serah can help you out perfectly to organize it with local guides that are grown up right next to the park. Tsavo East was great!
Wifi was good. Shower under the mango tree is unforgettable. Cooking outdoors, a spotless clean sleeping place and comfortable bed. I can keep mentioning things, but this place I recommend to every adventurer out there. Nothing
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional! - If your thinking you’re going glamping your wrong! This bubble offers all the comfort of a good hotel!
It was a unique, beautiful experience! You have a well-equipped kitchen. You can buy fruit and vegetables at the nearby market and you will experience the most romantic shower before you wait for a night full of star glancing right out of your bed!
The hike with Jay to the waterfalls alone would be worth a trip. If you want a safari trip as well, the operator Steven who Sarah recommends offers the best way around the national parks!
You feel very safe and well looked after! We can recommend the accommodation 100%. Nothing- just remember to bring internet connection with an e-sim or other!
- Bérénice (9/5): Superb - We really enjoyed our stay at the Bubble Tent. Coming from Nairobi, we were able to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the landscape, with lush nature all around us, and the evening spent watching the full moon. The amazing outdoor shower, the open kitchen with a view of the garden—everything allows for a complete escape. It’s a very intimate, very private space. Our most cherished memories are of exploring the village, the river, swimming in the waterfall, and walking the little hiking trails, guided by the locals. The host is incredibly kind and welcoming. Thank you for everything.
- Maxine (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a super unique stay in the middle of Taita Hills. I loved being able to see the stars at night and wake up to the sun rising and seeing it all from the bubble! There is an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen (make sure to bring food as there are not big shops nearby). They have mango trees around and the family is incredibly nice. If you want to experience the local area but with comfort and unique site, go here!
Also, I did a very cool hike around the area, with local guides. Nothing
- Karlo (10/5): Once in a lifetime experience underneath the African stars - We found out about Safari Bubbles through Airbnb. As advertised, it was truly a one in a lifetime experience!
The bubble is located around 45 minutes from Voi and close to the Tsavo national parks. So it’s perfect if you want to visit them but have a quiet night underneath the stars. The bubble has all you need, a little kitchen outside, an outside shower and an inside bathroom. It’s 100% insect-free.
Serah, the host, was so lovely: we were in contact with her a couple of days in advance, she organized pick up and return to the Voi railway station, and she set up us with an agency to see the parks.
We would definitely recommend and wish Serah luck with her project!
