Guest Reviews
- Rachael (6/5): The apartment would be ideal for a couple, but for friends who needed the two bedrooms it wasn’t an ideal set up. - Easy to find with clear instructions given by the host and ample parking. The location was ideal for what we needed and the kitchen facilities were good with plenty of glasses, cutlery and a dishwasher and large fridge freezer. The second bedroom was very small with a single bed and a chest of drawers. No plug to charge a phone or to plug in a fan (the room was very hot as also no window!)
- Dean Nicholson (8/5): - Great location
Easy parking
Spacious inside the apartment
Brilliant shower Only 1 loo roll between 4 of us which ran out
Missing batteries in the TV remote
No plug sockets in the little room
Very stuffy in the main bedroom

- Hena (1/5): - Nothing. Host is terrible. Lack of response once booking and on the day had no response all day ended up checking into another facility. Then got a message at 10pm giving me details which was no longer relevant because we needed the apartment before. Terrible host

- Stephen (7/5): My second time staying here with a colleague. A great little place to rest up after hard days work. -
- Hazel (4/5): -
- Nicola (9/5): Nice apartment, helpful staff, comfy beds - It was clean and spacious Lots of noise outside during the night
- Heather (6/5): Cost meets quality expectations. Customer service good for problems that shouldn't have arisen. - The property itself smelled very strongly of weed. The handsoap and dish soap were empty on arrival despite being advertised as cleaning supplies included. Cigarette burns on the couch and curtains. The mattresses were very soft and caused my back pain to be severe almost every day. The bathroom being an ensuite to a bedroom was unforseen and a little inconvenient to navigate when sharing the property with my friend who is an incredibly light sleeper (which prevented any sharing of rooms). We may have made a different choice if this had been more clear in the listing pictures. While I had excellent and fast support from the host when the wifi went down as well as power to the flat. I found it odd that the WiFi details in the frame inside the flat were not at all available and instead we were offered a selection of wifis which we connected to before losing access to, before being offered another different wifi. I was unable to make contact with anyone to find check in details until after the pre arranged time requested and agreed through booking.com had already passed and found that the mobile number listed as contact for the host would not connect initially. This caused a small panic in which I was beginning to call booking.com customer services when I received information via whatsapp about key locks and codes but not information about the parking space that could be used. A person met me at the property, showed us the doors etc and which car park space could be used, though I am not sure this could be used as I found that someone else had parked in the spot when I and the car was out. I hope this does not cause any problems with the parking permissions. My licence plate details were taken by the person we met at the property on the day, and again the next day by the person who contacted by WhatsApp for the purposes of arranging parking permits.
- Stephen (7/5): Very good place for myself & colleague to stay as we were working in the area. - Location was great for Hemel town center Wifi didnt work at all. Couldnt even find the account. Didnt complain as were only there overnight? No washing up facilities to wash our crockery.
- Gabriela Grigore (9/5): Bun - The apartment is spacious and well structured. a lot of noise, both from the inner courtyard and from the street
- Christy-Marie (7/5): - Stunning property and excellent location. Parking instructions unclear and not the easiest to find.
- Hannah (9/5): - Deco A bit of a problem with the internet but got sorted out. I wish the kitchen was a bit bigger.

- Andy (5/5): Don't book if you're not a couple or single person - Lovely setting for an apartment in a town centre with lots of food options if you want a takeawy The place has great potential to be really nice if it was marketed as a 1 bedroom flat. Unfortunately, the host has shoe horned a single bed into a room that feels like a dressing room with no windows and no plug sockets. The flat was only designed as a 1 bedroom, and I feel greed has made the host sell it as a 2 bed. The oven started smoking, which tbf to the host, they sent someone around within 5 minutes and then also provided an air fryer to cook any food we had. The bathroom is situated in the main bedroom so would act as an enquire to the master bedroom. If you're a contractor like we were, you need to be on good terms with your colleagues. The shower above bath needs some maintenance. The shower hose and riser rail are badly damaged and need replacing. I would not stay here again.
- Carrie-anne (6/5): It was ok for a night and was very clean - Very clean Second bedroom is extremely small. Strange smell in the bathroom. Considering it is supposed to sleep 4, it only had crockery and utensils for 2 people.
- Carl (1/5): Awful due to the cleanliness of the apartment, still waiting for a refund. - Location was good The whole apartment was absolutely filthy. Dirty towels on the floor on our arrival. Dirty bins. Filthy mattresses. Grubby walls. Very filthy skirting. Glass kitchen table looked like it had been wiped with a dirty cloth, leaving brown water marks all over.
The shower hose was broken, leaving sharp edges.
The plug in the bath didn’t work. Making it very difficult to wash our young family.
We booked an apartment so that we could use the bath for the children, and so that we could bring our own food and cook meals. However, on our first evening, we tried to use to cooker, but within a matter of minutes, the whole apartment was smeachy and covered in smoke. Because the oven was so dirty. We immediately turned the oven off because we were concerned about causing a fire.
This meant we had an extra expense of eating out for all of our meals during our stay. Which is exactly what we were trying to avoid.
The apartment sleeps up to 6 people. However, the crockery and cutlery supplied is for that of 3-4 people. There were only 4 forks and 3 bowls for example. We did contact house keeping for an extra fork, but while we were waiting for them to drop one off, the experience that we had with the oven we ended up having to take the children out for tea.
The whole experience really did spoil our weekend break.
The plug socket behind the double bed does not work. It is very loose and cold probably be pulled off of the wall.
The extra bed linen was just screwed up and chucked in a cupboard for us to find.
All in all, the apartment has so much potential if it was looked after and if it was cleaned properly between guests, but unfortunately this is not the case and it is just absolutely awful.

- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Zobia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing really comforting and amazing location Nothing at all everything was just perfect
- Peter (8/5): nice one night for 3. - location in a street with lots of food choices. 1 bedroom really small
- Madelene (7/5): Better for a single traveller - Clean Second bedroom was like a cupboard. Also bathroom was an en suite to bedroom 1
- Alison (8/5): Very good - Spacious apartment, good location, helpful staff Beds weren't very comfortable. Second bedroom more like a cupboard. Bathroom in the main bedroom was a bit strange
- Sarah (4/5): Basic accommodation not nice area - Spacious Location only one we in the main bedroom
- Pete (1/5): Do not book this flat. - Despite giving my car reg number as requested on arrival I have subsequently received a parking charge for £100. I have attached to take this up with the contact only to be told they are not involved with the company anymore.
The fob in the key safe for the block did not work.
The sofa bed was not made up on arrival and there was no suitable bedding for this.
- Carl (5/5): Passable - Ok for short stay bit over priced and the 2ed bedroom wasn't a bedroom but a small cupboard with a single bed in it
- Mark (6/5): The apartment was clean and tidy but does require redecorating. A few doors damaged . - The location was 1st class with everything on the doorstep. 1 bathroom and in main bedroom
No TV in main bedroom
Bath very slippy as no mat in bath or on floor
Bedsetee was very uncomfortable
The name Madison Court was not mentioned on any correspondence .
We spent 15 mins looking for Hemel Hideaway only to
discover it's a main door on Marlowe named Madison Court 😔 We did contact the owner who came to meet us at the front door with the key...
- Tom (1/5): Rubbish and still awaiting a refund as didn’t stay day 2 - No heating no working tv
- Monica (8/5): Very good - Generally comfortable, clean and tidy. Host helpful in getting us in to the building and flat. Given that it was on the main shopping street, it was still quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Hard to find. It would be helpful to name the shops on either side of the building entrance.
Wall heaters did not all work.
- Chris (9/5): A great experience all round - Superb hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautifully clean and well equipped apartment.
- Sajidah (8/5): Very good -
- Josiah (8/5): Would recommend, great value for money and high standard of house keeping - Cleaning standards were excellent. Apartment spacious and a nice atmosphere. Found it hard to find the car parking and entrance. But the host was easy to contact and very helpful
- Withana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Excellent - Spacious and comfortable N/a
- Mawdsley (5/5): Passable - Good location and on site parking. The only bathroom is located in the main bedroom, which isn't the most convenient. Single bedroom has no plug sockets and was very tight (guest kept bumping her head when getting up). Sofa bed was quite hard. Had to purchase own washing up liquid, kettle did not work and only two saucepans (so not that easy to cook multiple meals at once).
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
