- Edoardo (8/5): Wonderful escape, Robinson Crusoe feeling. Just nature around, basic falicilites. - Incredibile position, wonderful beach, fantastic food. No crowd, and charming camp immerse in the green.
The owner was not there but very helpful and reachable at any moment. Only two toilets for the full camp. Difficult to communicate with local staff who doesn’t speak English.

- James (9/5): Great vibe - Great location
- Andre (8/5): We had a wonderful stay, the lady in charge and also our chef, Ibu Naomi, is a wonderful chef and to - The location is stunning. Hopefully, not too many tourists will discover it so it remains pristine. The poor quality of the road and the transfer vehicle made the trip very tiring.
However, I do think this should stay like that so as to avoid over-tourism.
- Iurii (10/5): Your own ideal bay, beach and surfspot, am I not sleeping? Is it true? - The place, the vibe, and THE BAY this place is like from a movie came true
- Albert (9/5): Superb - Incredible experience on a paradise beach almost all for yourself Expensive but due to the incredible experience highly recommended for open minded people
- Francis (10/5): Camp Tarimbang is wonderful. Big beautiful stretch of clean beach at your doorstep. Food is wonderful, staff lovely and - The seclusion
The beach
The good
The accommodation
The friendly staff The drive there - but it’s worth it
- Matteo (6/5): great to disconnect but expect to rely on your own. - Great location. Comfortable bed. Great food. Great to disconnect. Beautiful beach Nobody has received us at arrival. The staff speaks very little English and, we have been told that the owner was away. We learned everything from the other guests. The cleanness of the bathroom and shower is lacking. We arranged to be picked up by car from the nearby waterfall (2h away walking) but the staff showed up with no car so we had to walk back without being prepared for it (water and food) for a total of 5 hours walk under the sun.
- Ckori (10/5): Amazing location!! - Amazing place, is what you can describe as paradise! One of the most beautiful beaches that I ever been, beautiful clear water, white sand.
The tents are beautiful and perfectly prepared, great Mattress and small the little details that complement the place. The staff and owners super friendly. We definitely will be back.
- Michelle (8/5): Paradise: Nature this pure and beautiful is the ultimate luxury - This is paradise. To truly appreciate it, plan to stay for at least three to four nights. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, and the nearby surf beach provides a soothing soundtrack to your stay. While it's a popular surf camp, it also offers a blissful escape for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature. The pristine 2km beach is just a short, sandy walk from every tent. The campsite is thoughtfully designed for privacy, nestled under a jungle canopy that provides relief from the sun and heat. Here, you can stroll, snooze, read, write, or work out in the outdoor gym equipped with rings and kettlebells. This is the ultimate place to unwind and rejuvenate.
Note: The campsite is off-grid, dedicated to minimising its environmental footprint and fostering a positive impact on the local community. The shared toilets resemble those on a yacht, and showers consist of refreshing, room-temperature water scooped from a tub for self-dousing. A unique perk is the local fishermen, who sell their fresh catches to the camp when they reel in more than they can eat, providing us with delicious, sustainable meals for lunch or dinner. Plus, all meals are included, ensuring a hassle-free and nourishing experience. This commitment to eco-friendly living and community support enhances the authenticity and charm of the campsite. The campsite's communal kitchen, lounge, and dining area offer fantastic opportunities to meet new people and engage in fascinating conversations. Unfortunately, some fellow guests treated this shared space more like a frat house, leaving rubbish and personal items scattered around. This inconsiderate behaviour detracted from the otherwise pleasant and sociable atmosphere.
- Noel (9/5): Great experience, highly recommended - Amazing beach access, practically a remote private beach with your tent in the “jungle” just next to it
- Tessa (9/5): We had the most amazing few days out in Caspars off grid Camp, and enjoyed every second of our stay. - The property is extremely secluded, you are surrounded by nature, and the most pristine beach is literally in front of your tent.
While it is tough to get there, the trip is worth it. You should definitely hire a local driver to take you or at least have a 4W drive/good scooter if you plan to come on your own.
The camp itself is beautifully made, you will be under the jungles‘ canopy which leaves everything shaded and cool.
The food is delicious and prepared by the sweet staff on sight (think freshly baked breakfast buns, grilled fish from the bay prepared around the bonfire, fresh fruits and vegetables from the trees and local markets).
Caspar, the host and owner of the place is great, will make you feel right at home and is always helpful and available. Beware that you will not want to make the trip down to the camp more than necessary, so make sure you bring everything you need (including medication, toiletries, some snacks, mosquito repellent and sunscreen etc.).
The bathrooms are simple and without running water, as the property is properly off grid. Keep in mind that it is all outdoors and sustainable, so expect some bugs.
- Megan (9/5): Paradise not to be missed - The location is fabulous! The tent was very comfortable and the food was tasty local fare. Coffee was good and bar was enjoyed! Beach is amazingly clean and water is so inviting. Lots of bugs - so come prepared.
- Mart (10/5): Fantastic eco friendly stay on an amazing beach - Amazing stay on one of the most amazing beaches I’ve ever seen. Far away from people, WiFi etc. A great place to disconnect. Highly recommended and would love to stay again It’s a long drive to get here, although that might also be why it’s not crowded which is a plus
- Len (10/5): Exceptional - The beach and sea. beautiful!!!
the meals, self service for drinks and they brought the coffee to the beach. Lovely! When we arrive nobody seems to know that we were coming. No good introductions to the place.
- Gustavo (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was above and beyond my expectations. It felt like a dream to be sleeping in a soft, comfortable and clean bed at night, listening to the waves crash and to have a 2km white sand beach all to ourselves.
Great food, wonderful company. It was a bit hard to get to the campsite, about 1 hour and a half of pothole roads, but it's probably because of this that the destination is still mostly untouched and magical (I hope it says this way for a while longer!). Since it's so hard to get here I recommend staying at least 5 nights!
