• Rahel (4/5): Cheap but uncomfortable - Very good location, comfortable bed. I was honestly surprised that it has such a high rating, and other guests were too. Barely saw any staff. Overall not clean, only one bathroom for all so I had to wait a lot. The bed sheet did not have a sheet cover. There is no air conditioning in the mixed room so the room smelled as if there had not been fresh air let in for the past month. I personally would not stay there again.

• shyh kwong (6/5): Central Location, Basic Facilities - The guesthouse is in a very central spot, about 10 mins walk from Hongik University station, with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby. It’s suitable if you’re backpacking or traveling light, as dorm rooms don’t have space for luggage, so bags are kept in the common area outside, though lockers are provided for valuables. I booked early during peak season at a cheaper rate, which made the stay reasonable. Overall, it’s an okay option if you plan to spend most of your time outside, but the limited bathroom facilities are the main drawback. There’s only ONE bathroom on the ENTIRE floor, so queues can happen, especially in the morning or evening. The washer and dryer are available only outside cleaning hours, which was inconvenient because during my stay, cleaners were using them in the morning when guests also needed them.

• Camila (6/5): Affordable, well located - Very well located, so close to hongdae station, self check-in allows for late arrivals which was my case beds were comfy They provide really big lockers which is very useful, and slippers I was a bit confused about the check-in, they didn't give me any information about accessing the kitchen which was on a different floor from my dorm blanket was super thin, I had to put my jumpers and jackets on top cus i was so cold I was in the bottom floor dorm and the shower there smelt so bad, whenever the door opened you could smell it in the whole dorm. be prepared for a korean shower room For this price you can find cleaner hostels in my opinion

Der var 1 badeværelse til 14 kvinder, det synes jeg er alt for lidt. Der er heller ikke nogen elevator, det skal man bare lige være obs på. På de andre hostels, jeg har boet på i Sydkorea, har der været vandautomater, da man ikke kan drikke vand fra vandhanen. Det var der ikke her, så jeg blev nødt til at købe det i stedet. Køleskabet trænger virkelig til at blive gjort rent, det lugter helt vildt.
• Guest (5/5): Nice location but several downsides - The location The common space is tiny, it's a small kitchen with 4 chairs that barely fit in, let alone having 4 people, or any amount of people, trying to sit around while others cook or do the laundry or try to open their lockers, all together in a cramped room. You must leave your suitcase outside the dorm, it's virtually impossible to keep it inside otherwise people would hardly access their beds.

The pictures used do not depict reality regarding the number of rooms. A last room was renovated and it ended up being 15 girls for a single shower and toilet. It was a clear sign of greed, it made the place extremely packed with bags, and clearly less enjoyable .

• MINGYUE (10/5): Excenllent - My stay at Hello World Guesthouse felt like staying with kind-hearted friends rather than a regular accommodation. The owners’ hospitality is unmatched—they’re always ready to help, and their English is excellent, so there’s never a communication barrier. I got lost on my way there, and the owner patiently guided me until I found the place, which made me feel so cared for. The guesthouse itself is spotlessly clean, the rooms are quiet and well-soundproofed (no noisy neighbors at all!), and the little courtyard is so warm and inviting that I spent hours chatting there with other travelers from around the world. The free tableware is also a thoughtful touch that makes your stay more convenient. I will absolutely recommend this lovely guesthouse to my Chinese friends, and I hope to come back someday soon! nothing

I haven’t seen any host my whole four day stay. It would be nice to have someone you can talk to and responsible there. Bathroom is a bit small and always wet as toilet and shower are combined

• Ana TF (4/5): - La cama es comodísima. Parecía que te absorbía. Tienes posibilidad de usar lavadora y secadora gratis. Hay útiles de aseo y secador a tu disposición. Hay taquillas para guardar tus cosas, aunque están en el salón, fuera de las habitaciones. Puedes programar una clave para cerrarlas, lo cual me pareció muy conveniente. Había un solo váter y una sola ducha para las tres habitaciones de la planta en la que yo estaba. Puede que a otras personas no les importe esperar, pero para mí es inaceptable tener que esperar 2 horas por la noche para poder ducharme e irme a dormir. Igual que por la mañana tuve que lavarme la cara en el fregadero de la cocina, ya que el lavabo está en el mismo espacio que la ducha. Por los zapatos que conté en la entrada, éramos unas 12 personas con un solo baño. Así es imposible garantizar una mínima comodidad. Por lo que digo, el ruido de gente duchándose y secándose el pelo duraba hasta altas horas de la madrugada. Yo no me quedo en un sitio donde mi higiene y mi descanso no puedan estar garantizadas. De hecho, solo dormí allí la primera de las tres noches que tenía reservadas. Luego me fui a un hotel. Y a propósito, he leído aquí respuestas del responsable comentando que si no nos gusta lo que hay, nos vayamos a un hotel. Que esto es un hostel. Pues con todo mi respeto, yo llevo más de 10 años alojándome en hostels y nunca he tenido un problema como este. Ha sido la primera vez que he estado tan incómoda, que he tenido que cambiar de alojamiento. Si pago por quedarme en su alojamiento, lo que espero es que usted corresponda con las mínimas condiciones de higiene. No hay un lugar donde dejar los zapatos, así que la gente los deja tirados en la entrada y tienes que saltar sobre ellos para entrar y salir del hostel. No hay espacio suficiente en las habitaciones para maletas grandes, por lo que toda la sala común está llena de maletas y es imposible sentarse por allí y relacionarse con la gente. También debe de ser el único alojamiento de toda Corea donde no te dan ni agua.

This dog has lost all joy in life, and we cried when we couldn't do anything for him. This dog, Jerry, would have a better life on the streets than in captivity in 40-degree heat. We even wrote to animal welfare organizations. This ruined our entire stay. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy it. But one tip: Don't book the private room; the mattresses are as hard as in prison. And don't book the mixed room; there's no air conditioning in the other rooms. I hope future travelers can help Jerry. The upper floor was a female only floor so I cannot c - - Very clean bathroom, common areas, and bed space - Bed was comfortable and it has a nice ladder to easily climb up to the top bunk - Washing your clothes is free and convenient (self-service) - They kindly allowed me to park my bicycle inside the gate - The location is great. It's situated on a nice quiet side street. There is a nice cafe next door - It would be nice if there was more seating in the common area on the first floor for socializing (there are only 2 chairs) - The kitchen could use some rags, paper towels, or tissues to clean up after prepping/eating food (maybe there was but I did not see anything)

When I checked in, all of the belongings of the previous person was still there. I dont know how the staffs communicated with the previous guest, but I asked the guesthouse if I could check in a bit early at 2 p.m instead of 4 p.m. They said yes but the belongings of the previous guest was still in my bed and locker. The bed is big enough for one person but not comfortable.
• Jason (8/5): Guesthouse in a nice neighborhood - Very clean guesthouse. Cubicles were large with a comfortable bed, plugs and a light switch inside. Also a washer and dryer to use. A kitchen is available where you can keep food. Nice cafe next door. Can store luggage there before and after check in/ check out
• Joana (9/5): Friendly staff, good value for the price - I had a wonderful stay, the location is in Hongdae. Which is a really nice place in Seoul. They provide towels, bodywash, shampoo and conditioner. I get to use the washing machine and dryer free of charge, and they provide laundry detergent. The staff is great. I left my eyeglasses behind when I checked out. I notified them about it and they kept it safe for me until I went back to pick it up. Very happy with the place It is a shared space, so you need to be mindful with others. Such as take turns to use the bathroom and toilet.

• Anastasiakap (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and tidy guesthouse. The bunk beds were very spacious and you could have your privacy due to the curtains. Everyday there would be someone who would clean or put laundry. Very nice location, close to the metro as well as one of Seoul's busiest street, Hongdae, but at the same time far enough so that you don't get disturbed by outside noise. There is only one bathroom and shower for the entire floor which means that some times you would have to wait for your turn to use either.
• Henry (3/5): Lack of Clear Rules, Overcrowded Facilities, and Hygiene Concerns - Easy check-in and checkout. Free to use any facilities in the accommodation. Jimmy, the dog, is so cute and friendly. There are no clear rules or instructions provided, allowing people to place their belongings anywhere. Additionally, only one toilet is available for up to 10 people when fully booked, which becomes problematic during peak times. I do have concerns about both safety and hygiene.

• Kevin (7/5): Good - Good accommodation but I don’t want to waste the attention on that but bring it to a really important point: The dog. It was so sad to see how he is locked + leashed in the courtyard with no soft dog bed or anything. He’s just lying on the cold ground and had 2 lonesome toys. In the evenings his water was empty so we refilled it and it turned out he actually was really thirsty. It breaks our heart to see how he’s just left there alone with no company except from the travelers who pet him shortly before going in or out. I don’t know if someone goes for a walk with him or not but I really do hope so! It more seems like he is there to be some kind of cute attraction for the travelers instead of being a respected and loved animal. Please do something whoever ownes this guesthouse (self checkin, never met the owner) to make this dogs life better, he’s such a kind beautiful soul and deserves the best!

• Melissa (5/5): Not what i expected - Messy, old and crowded - It’s a self check-in and you get information beforehand online to enter your room so you're free with the timing. The neighboorhood is very nice, calm but full of food options. There are efficent washing machine and dryers. There were good soaps/shampoo and efficient hairdryers. Many towels available on self service. Overall, it looks like your single uncle is making extra money by renting additional rooms that were not refreshed since the 80s (old toys in the room, rusty tap, teared off wallpaper, cracked floor, stains on most pillow covers, ...) but never actually stayed in a hostel so many things lack common sense (1 shower for 14 women, no hangers on the wall or in the bed unit, no basket for used towels, no space to store shoes in the entrance, no blanket cover, toilet paper as kitchen towels, etc...). There are actually 3 "units" and the one on the pictures is just one of them (upstairs). The upstairs dorms are female only and it’s 1 shower for 14 people so it’s occupied all evening until 2am. Suitcases are all over the main room. People are packing and drying their hair until 3am. You cannot enter because there are shoes all over the entrance and nothing to put them aside. The other 2 units are downstairs and accessible through the courtyard. One has no common room and no actual shower (only a shower head in the wc) it's tiny and you cannot open the window. The other one is better but still not clean: there is lot of mess, and successive layers of guest’s forgotten belongings covered in dust and moist. Note that the "common room" is just 1 chair. Also i did not see anyone from the management the whole time, although they were quite responsive in the chat.
• Marty (9/5): Unexpected wonder - It was actually an unexpected wonder. Great location next to that forest line, good neighbourhood. The common areas are good to sit and eat. The price was amazing. One toilet and shower for everyone, 6-8 people. It is a tough ask.
• Johannes (9/5): Superb - Almost perfect There were no chopsticks although rest of the kitchen was fully equipped, I was a bit confused.
• Lollofunky (9/5): Superb - Great location, comfy bed, clean bathroom. Perfect for a couple of days. No contact with the owner / host, only email messages. But That is very common in South Korea. Not much space for luggage, backpack etc.
• Evgeniia (8/5): Nice location, but don’t take lots of luggage - The location is great - close to the subway, the street is very lively and there are a lot of shops and cafes, so you will not stay hungry. It’s also a nice place to walk. The room is tiny, so if you’re travelling with big luggage, you’ll have to store your suitcases outside the room. The dog on the property is lovely too, but I’m concerned if he’s ever taken for walks outside his little pen. Because he looks a little bored and sad sometimes and any time we saw him, he was tied to the gate :(
• Eric (10/5): First but not the last accommodation I will stay in Hongik University - The accommodation was so cozy and it feels like home. The family and the host was so nice! It was nice staying at this guesthouse knowing you will be welcome by a dog named "Jimmy". They are also very considerate! It a good accommodation for solo travelers who are on a budget! How I wish there was a basket for the used towels so that it would not be difficult for us to just throw the towels somewhere else
• Aichurok (8/5): Very good - Overall my stay was good. I recommend people checking your email before arriving to the hostel, as there is no host, you have all the instructions in your email. The toilet didn’t lock. Only one bathroom for 3 rooms.
• Mei (5/5): Passable - good location, a lot cafes nearby. very clean place, cute deco. 10 min walk from hongik station only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet fr all the guest. and the basin is inside the bathroom 🤯 every morning go out or nigh time reach the guest house, you need to queue for the bathroom and toilet. this is not feasible
• Vlada (10/5): Great hostel in Seoul - This is a very nice hostel that more feels like a home. The beds are new and comfy, the kitchen has full equipment including laundry you can use. There were only females thus it was very chill. The owner is very helpful and hospitable he helped me when I made a mistake and booked two times for the same day. Thank you very much for everything!

• Ognivenko (10/5): Exceptional - I liked everything! I stayed in this hostel for one night, I arrived around midnight and checked in on my own, I met other girls inside and everything was very comfortable! Everyone was quiet and no one made any noise! The hostel is very cozy and on the first floor behind the fence lives a kind dog Jerry, who met me when I came. I am very glad I chose this place and I think I will choose it again on my next trip!
• Tay (7/5): For a short stay, you can consider it to stay! - indeed it’s like how the pictures show, the Wi-Fi is strong, the shower provided hot water. Self check-in system ease our day. Locker for you to put stuff in. The space for the mixed room is a bit small. For hygiene I bet it’s up to your own standards to judge, for me I think it’s not really clean as many people are staying together.

• Giacomo (7/5): Cute - The bed was very comfortable and pretty big. The kitchen was not fully equipped. Only one old pan and no cut board

• Abi (5/5): Not the most comfortable, but an affordable location close to everything. - The location and price were very good. It was easy to get to and was in walking distance of the station and other notable places in Hongdae. The pull out couch was one of the most uncomfortable places I've ever slept. It was not meant for two people to be sleeping on either.
