Bhatia (9/5): Would absolutely love to visit again. - Zostel Kotgarh offered us a perfect stay experience with its stunning views, cozy and well-equipped rooms, and great value for money. The property was spacious, beautifully constructed, and home to three friendly dogs that added a lively touch to the experience. The serene atmosphere and breathtaking views from the rooms provided unmatched solace. It is located around 30 min. from tourist attractions where we used to travel daily. Whether you’re exploring or simply relaxing, this place is an ideal retreat for nature lovers. The food could have been a little better considering how great everything else is.
Aniket (6/5): Average zostel experience at costly prices. - Too many rules and regulations for eating and sitting around the hostel. No fun vibes as a zostel would have. It looks like a hotel with everyone in their rooms and no lucrative areas for everyone to converge and enjoy. No new year party arrangements and works like a typical hotel, worse than a small homestay. The common area was so cold in night that no one would want to sit and usually such colder areas have angethi or tandoor for keeping everyone warm and cosy and play and interract around. Usually zostels have repeat customers but this one is only a one-time visit property. Restaurant prices are too high for the location and they take advantage of it as there are no nearby alternatives within 20-25 kms range of Zostel. Plus food quantity is also not adequate and tasty. I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to travel some 500ish kms for an average stay at a costly price. I would recommend visiting Zostel Kareri in Dharmashala as a far better destination.

Location is beautiful up in the trees, though not close to any towns. The building is heavily lit at night until around midnight and the light beams into the rooms, making it a bit tricky to sleep.

Mam , Aashish sir, Abhay sir (the host) , saurav sir and the hotel staff were too nice to me and really took good care of me. i would always love to stay there for every trip to kotgarh
